If you're just maintaining your skin then do the cleanser for daily or every other day washing, if more severe try cream or gel 2.5% or 5% strength once/day or every other day. (10% strength might be irritating too harsh for sensitive and dry skin)

Demodex Oust extra strength is what I use. I have blepharitis due to demodex mites so I use that and also got prescribed eye drops called Xdemvy.

Can be. There are two different types as far as I know. I’m not an expert but I’m seeing an eye specialist because I have blepharitis due to demodex infestation on my eyelashes on my left and right eyes.

Apparently they lack a butt hole.. so after about 2 weeks of munching away at dead skin cells and rubbish they explode and make a mess.

They live on everyone’s skin and don’t bother most people’s skin. (I believe it’s normal to find one in almost every pore, if I remember correctly.) Studies show that people with rosacea sometimes have a higher than normal population of them, which is thought to add to the inflammation.

This type of data is drawn from very large population sizes. Your individual experience with your mother is not statistically relevant. Even if there are tons of older adults without any evidence of demodex mites, this doesn't change the rule set by the population at large until it becomes a statistically significant portion of the population. Plus, as demodex mites are invisible to the naked eye and the symptoms vary in type and severity, many people who do have them are unaware, meaning that your mother (and you) may very well be part of the population who is affected without even knowing.

@@Cliodhna-z1i I'm sorry these tiny, fairly harmless mites strike such fear into you that talking about them rationally is 'fear mongering' to you. I guess the world is a really scary place when you don't know how and when to apply critical thinking.
