its always interesting to listen to these. Sometimes its hard to get stories and experiences from vets. I know I have my reserve that I'd only say to a few, my brother, the same, and all my non-blood brothers that have done things I know have their reservations as well. It is an amazing thing to watch and listen to some of these stories and for those who dont know to get a real perspective of the war we fought. Love yall. keep it up

I just want to say that this story he just told in 6 mins... I would totally watch that as a movie, for sure. I don't understand why the movies end up feeling so much like regurgitated predictable plot lines from 90s movies, when we clearly have better stories just floating around...? In fact ANY movie where there is a clear plot line and authentic plot and no one is trying to shove fake-sympathy down the audience's throats, is totalllly fine!

Tyler, we all have regrets over things we should have done, or shouldn't have done. Trust in yourself and let that go, your team, those men you fought with, trusted you to make a snap decision in the heat of battle, and you made it. Let it go brother, just let it go... You had no clue, nor did your team, please do not beat yourself up, it's happened since the beginning of time, and you are not alone in that split decision, under the heat, face to face...
I can relate to this form a civilian scenario; having the thoughts “why didn’t I just let that guy die like he so desperately wanted to?” A guy I saved went on to do bad things.

In 1968 Vietnam we were in a free fire zone and were in place for a week or so. Everyday an old man would bicycle by us on the road. We didn’t detain or shoot him because he seemed super old and harmless. Turned out he was the leader of the local VC group. We felt stupid but killing an old man didn’t seem right at the time either
Thank you finally someone has said it. When were you over there? I was in 🇮🇶 Iraq from 2004-2005. I left April 28, 2005.
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Finally!
Man, I wish someone in a position to know would find out what happened to the dude and hopefully give this hero some peace of mind. Also so honorable to have handled it that way even if it got fucked up on the back end.

From the documentaries I have seen, Delta Force, Navy Seals, Rangers, etc, have a difficult time adjusting to civilian life. I don't know how he handled life immediately after leaving the military, but it is amazing how he has put his knowledge and tactics to use post military. He can't be part of the "action" but is still part of the "action", just in a different form. If that all makes sense.

I have not seen this at all. Of course there are plenty of people who do but to generalize the minority into the majority seems unjustified.
if i'm not wrong, the raid where he got injured is the same raid that Andy Stumpf was shot.
I can understand the regret of letting a really bad guy possibly get back on the streets, but there was absolutely nothing he could do in this situation. Any potential processing and release was completely beyond his control, if anything it speaks to his character immensely that took the honorable route and brought him in, for both moral reasons and operational, especially since you never know what intel they could shell over. I really hope he doesn't lose any sleep over it, it's what separates us from the bad guys.
I really like Trent in Seal team show, too bad he didnt get much more important role ❤
Regret every day I didn’t join the RAF at 16. Massive respect to my UK/US Brothers and Sisters that served and continue to serve. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!

@LeopaldStraus That's just self doubt fuck all that shit and go for it at least you'll know wether or not you've got what it takes. Either you you'll have a lot more respect for yourself I've struggled for years to get into the armed forces ever since I was 16. At first I wanted to join the army parachute regiment but I couldn't get in because I had a history off mental health. Went through an episode of psychosis from smoking weed had to take medication for a year. Army said to re apply after being 3 years clear off treatment but I re applied too soon and then I went through the appeal process. For 4 years I sent application after application, appeal after appeal with strong medical evidence thay states I'm fit for service from professional doctors and the army still took the piss. But my backup plan was always the royal marines so I applied in 2020 sent the same appeal and in 2021 they gave me the green light just like that. Had a little setback with the medical because off blood pressure but I got through that eventually, got through the fitness test on my second attempt. Failed my cpc but right now I'm training hard and improving and definitely gonna pass it next time I get down there. My point is don't ever stop fighting for your dream and don't let no one tell you that it's not for you, give it everything you have and keep fighting for it no matter what. I'm 22 as well so use your youth tip your advantage, all the best to you man.

22 is still young bro. If you feel regret now, imagine when you are retired. Best thing you can do is just jump straight into it. If you don’t feel tough now, you’ll certainly be when you are done with all your training. I joined the US Army at 21 and had a lot of self doubt. I dealt with a lot of bs over the years but I don’t regret a minute and I learned a lot about myself as well as my brothers. The friendships you gain are like no other idc what anybody says. You may not believe in yourself but there will be cadre that believe in you. I know I’m just a random youtube commenter but l believe in you brother 💪🏼

Buck rodgers interviewing buck roodgers?
This proves not everyone can do what Shawn Ryan does … Tyler’s interview on SRS is phenomenal
anyone from the small unit exchanges sees this? we need backup. make it happen. ITS NOT TRAINING
Reminds me of the German Waffen SS trooper in the movie “Saving Private Ryan” who is taken prisoner and allowed to live by Upham because he talks his way out of being killed, and then later comes back and kills some of the paratroopers who let him live. As Patton said, “No dumb bastard ever won a war by going out and dying for his country. He won it by making some other dumb bastard die for his country."
"I Regret Not Killing Him". I think that once a week.
If it was a kill on target mission why was he not terminated?

No one in their right mind would admit on camera of killing someone illegally
This is oddly similar to a story told on another podcast from another tier one operator....
This comes down to an ego problem. As a former soldier (plain GI issue, nothing special like you or the spec ops people) There was no good explanation for your reservation or perception of his wife. The target not dying was not in the cards. Since you’re no longer a soldier wouldn’t it be better to pray for God to interact with this man and turn his heart? God obviously sparred this evil man. God wants no man to go to hell but all to turn from evil. It will help settle your mind and heart. If he is still evil then there will be a judgment upon his death. But you Sir can let the regret go. You did your duty. America thanks you. You did more good as a soldier than harm. Glorify God the remainder of your days. God bless you
