Hey! They are ppl w a job, a job they CHOSE! These guys aren't draftees! If you want to pay soldiers forever, why not also midnight shift convenience store workers who DO NOT have a troop and mega weapons to defend themselves but are high risk targets for maiming and being killed? Get a clue. You are being schmoozed. Just another group looking for special dispensation. Not saying they shouldn't be thanked for their work but so should everyone else. As far as I know, the only threat to the American ppl are the American ppl themselves. That doesn't make soldiers anybody special.

I have tears in my eyes that I personally know this fellow and can attest to his good nature. I am so proud to call you a friend and fellow American. Maybe we’re tired of being a country that stands for inflicting wounds like this (on our own and on those in the countries we fight), while our politicians and Wall Street execs laugh their way to the banks. Maybe we sit in utter disbelieve that can spend trillions to send young men like this to an early grave, but we can’t help them after? Shit, we can’t even help our own here! They fight because some politicians have interests.. They die for nothing, but your public is fed all that bullshit and you guys think your soldiers are some heroes.. When your home is invaded then you fight and go to war. American politics isnt defending your freedom lol. Anyone can see that but an American. I mean no offense, these are facts. People who get hurt half a world away, it's their own fault. They are volunteers, for what? Cause they also believe they are defendinf American freedom lol. Iraq, Afghanistan would be better off without Americans as they have been for 3000 years and you would stikl sleep peaceful at night, cause Noone really gives a shit about killing you. The reason they will go out of their way to kill you at your own country, is because you invited theirs. That's about it.

It was cool to see Justin talk about nerve pain cause no one really does or puts a face to it. It's so hard to describe or have another person understand that level of nerve pain. I call them nerve pain attacks because it literally feels like your entire body is being attacked while it happens to you and nothing really turns it off or the complete agony you are in for hours or days until it shuts itself off again. It takes a hell of a person with a mountain of strength to get through nerve pain on the daily. My injuries were nothing like Justin's but that level of nerve pain I live with daily and its a hell of a battle to fight on the daily.

Nothing is more impressive and rewarding than to visit a VA hospital and sit with a veteran just to have a chat. I spent every day for 7 years visiting my sweetheart at the Long Beach VA. He was in the Spinal Cord section of the hospital. I’d see a vet sitting alone and shoot them a little smile. They would light up and before long we’d become friends. Everyone in the vicinity of a VA hospital should give it a try. Be a friend and an encourager. Show your love and gratitude.

So many veterans won’t speak of the experiences they went through in battle, not because they don’t want to or because they’re humble about it but because it’s just too painful to relive. Many of them had PTSD but didn’t even know because it was just called shellshock and remained misunderstood. Rehashing the events and speaking out about them would probably be too much to go through. That’s not to say they never think about the things that happened to them or the friends they lost, but voicing it is another level. I have the greatest respect for all veterans no matter how good or bad their time was, but I have the most respect for the ones who can talk about things because it takes so much bravery to go through it and bring it up again.

I lost mine on a motorcycle ripped my foot off was caught by the chain and my foot was taken into the wheel it was only hanging by a tendon. Opened forehead, my skin on my arms was scraped off. Was resuscitated on site went into the ER spent one hour without anesthesia cause of the blood loss and the surgeons had to act quick if they wanted to save my foot. So I screamed and fainted multiple times till I couldn’t take it no more and told them to cut it off. Went the hard way on becoming an amputee and the military amputees there helped me cope with the pain

The worst thing I found kicking opioids, was sobriety. My brain was like "Jesus Christ, normality sucks. Let's get high again." The longer you kick, the better it gets. Also, you're really supposed to ween yourself when In a methadone program (in my country, anyway). They taper you down so the withdrawal isn't as harsh, albeit over a longer time. Of course, half of the people on the done just end up scoring H or whatever anyway, and use the done as just another source. It's pretty screwed up. Neurologically speaking it takes ages for the brain to "repair". As for Ketamine, gotta be better for your health than PCP. Also dissociatives are great when you have a serious pain injury. Used it for a broken ankle. Also, less habit forming. Unless you really want to screw up your nueroreceptors

The kind of sufism popular in the western countries aren't the most influential ones in the muslim world Its a methodology within Islam which has been around for over a thousand years & the overwhelming majority of Sufis are very religious, conservative, believe in islamic rules, laws, etc. & there are plenty of Sufi Jihadi groups..

It is about appreciate their sacrifice, that they give you the security and freedome to even open up your damn mouth. This guy has a true warriors ethos. He’s been thru unimaginable hell and is undoubtedly still conquering demons like depression and pain but he has chosen to continue to be a warrior in new and different ways for different kinds of battles. The best thing a soldier who is fighting PTSD can do is to find that new thing to fight for or fight against. Loss of purpose is what kills soldiers after the war. Life is meant to be lived with purpose so find it and keep living brothers (and sisters).
