You pay a delivery company to provide a service for you but just in case they can't do the job you've already paid them for, you have to pay extra insurance to cover their ineptitude!

Not to be rude but Evri are one of the worst delivery companies out there whether receiving a parcel or sending

Packages aren't lost they are stolen by the drivers.

Bought speakers off ebay, were stolen in transit by someone at evri. They took the label off and stuck it on someone else's parcel, so they could still scan it. Seller did take out insurance, and after waiting 3 weeks for evri to investigate they paid up.

Sad to hear that. Either way we get screwed i think. Its a shame. I also want to say that i really enjoy watching your hifi journey! Its pretty similar to mine. And your videos always super funny, and you compare stuff that is in reach for most people. Im not interested in watching somebody test a 10.000 euro component. Im never gonna get there. Keep up the good work👊

Post office is the same cost (about) but includes insurance up to 150, Evri will be double by the time you add insurance.

How odd, I sold a Q Acoustics 7060s Subwoofer on eBay and shipped via Evri. My one went missing too. Someone at Evri must be good at stealing slim subwoofers! I shipped direct via Evri and they fully refunded me included postage so was lucky. From experience never use services like paclink, instead always ship direct with the courier. This way you can speak to them directly for (hopefully) better results. Also always take photos of the product, inner and outer packaging before shipping in case it gets damaged.

I would think that a firm like Evri would already have Goods in transit insurance along with their Public liability insurance to cover against loss, damage and theft. At least for their directly employed drivers and for goods going through their depot network and trunking operations. The problem could lay in their business model of using self employed local agents for "the last mile?". Personally I believe such insurance should be compulsory for all courier drivers and then courier firm's customers would be covered without potentially paying twice (and extortionate rates) for insurance. I see these people, often just using hatchbacks, obviously just trying to make a living and I certainly wouldn't knock them for that but it concerns me that a) They most likely don't have the correct commercial insurance b) It most likely invalidates their existing Car insurance.

They all seem to be getting bad mate, including Royal Mail. Had parcels go missing over Xmas including a present for my son. Another courier left my parcel outside front door even though I gave them instructions how to get into the back and leave it by back door. They just don't care and employ some useless and scummy people. I asked my regular postwoman after Christmas if she had any idea where my parcel might have gone and she apologised and said she had come across a lot of people saying the same thing had happened to them over Christmas period. She said they employ agency staff temporarily and they don't do their job properly. She told her manager but they don't care either. Unless management actually do something about these issues, it will continue unfortunately.

Hi, really sorry to hear about your loss. I’ve had several bad experiences with sending parcels and insurance and can relate. If you are sending goods in future though it’s always best to cover the insurance costs, at least that way you are covered for something like a loss, otherwise it’s pretty much as you said, they do not care. It’s a con yes but at least you would have had your money back now.

Sounds familiar the Yodel driver nicked my speaker I watched him approach my building take a picture of the flat security door than drive off than got a notice saying delivered at the moment evri seem to have lost my other parcel both have dodgy drivers

Yeah it seems that way.

I brought a mirror from Next a few years ago, delivered by Evri, it was a little heavy but the courier dropped it twice walking up the drive.. I refused the package as you could hear the broken glass inside. Back on the phone to Next, another one sent out did exactly the same thing getting it out of the van. In the end I had to drive like 25 miles and get one myself just to make sure it was not broken. Shit is a word I don't use lightly, but thats the service they provide. I actually wont ordfer if I know it's them these days, although sometimes you dont know the courier until iit's too late.

I have 2 bad experiences with Evri over deliveries and have vowed if they are the courier to cancel any purchase made through the seller.

There was a very expensive cd that I ordered and payed for, but it never arrived. Some driver must be dancing to my music all day long...

That's a pity. I think, they just steel stuff. Don't send anything with them anymore.

I sometimes use Royal Mail special delivery before 1pm service, it costs £15.45. This was for a 10kg parcel with up to £750 compensation.

That's what I do as well mate, I always put a comment in the eBay description that the postage is expensive for that reason

Post Office every time for me. Last week I bought some old Wharfedale Triton speakers off eBay. The seller just wrapped cardboard around them without any protection and they arrived unmarked! How's that for service! Great content👍

Yep , me this week. Sold a pair of DT770s on eBay. ..sent them via RM..to Merseyside...didn't pay for tracked and signed for...they weren't that expencive..guess what...they never got there to the buyer ...we're all being ripped off ..big time in this country our kid. ..Grrrrr.

I am having same problem with Evri. Bought a power cable nobody even knocked the door, they reckon they delivered it 10. 21 this morning.. He must be a ghost.. EVRI WHAT A JOKE

One of the worst Marty, different name, same game! Evri was Hermes till they changed the name. We've had trouble in the past,not just e-bay but high street stores online.

It's a con. I paid for insurance selling an arcam cd player. Evri did deliver it, but damaged and the cd player wasn't working. The buyer sent me video proof it was broken. I went to claim on the insurance to be told it's not eligible for electronic goods because they said we could be running a scam.on them by posting an already broken item and claiming £100s off them.. basically if you had got the insurance, they could have voided it and still refused to pay. Trading standards should investigate.

Do you have a small claims court in the UK? We have the Disputes Tribunal in NZ. It’s $45 to file and there are no lawyers allowed. You vs the other party and an arbiter. 99% of companies fold when the summons arrives on their desk. You get a phone call by the days end asking how they can resolve the matter. It’s all public record and they don’t want the possibility of negative publicity in the press.

You don’t have to pay for insurance in NZ. Carriers are liable for up to $2000 in law if they lose or damage a parcel. Over $2000 you can insure if you want.

Hi Martin, Sorry to hear about this, but I sell for a living and don't take “no” for an answer with couriers: with/without insurance etc. last complaint was settled after Hermes refunded compensation in full after parcel was . . . Lost. How did I achieve this? Wrote directly to CEO, provided proof of tracking. All you have to do is do a screenshot of tracking status. It should show current status I. Evris system. All it needs is an area manager to investigate local courier. Explain this to them, don't take excuses. Also mention to CEO that complaint will go further, i e. Ombudsman, BBC watchdog etc. once they hear the word “legal”, they hopefully will issue full refund. You are within your rights. Don't just accept £25 . You have clearly been ripped off. Case not closed. Evri are at fault and proof is within their system. Parcel is not lost, it is either lying around misplaced or an employee being dishonest. Evri don't want to have bad press do they? Personally I won’t use Evri, I actively avoid any company that offers them as their delivery method and I definitely won’t use them to deliver something to someone. Haven’t sold on eBay for a while, but is that the only option you have for shipping these days? I will usually go Royal Mail and post it myself as most their parcel services include insurance already as long as you declare the value

My mate worked for a delivery company and they used to get items all the time that were knocked off one he offered me a 4grand ebike for 500 quid im far to honest to accept stolen property i don't like the thought of jail? Karma will prevail you wait all the best

I sold my xbox (to fund my hifi) a few years back. That was Hermes, they lost the parcel but i got a full refund. Which i then had send to refund the buyer on ebay. So technically i wasnt out if pocket, but i didnt have that xbox. Still feels like a scam.

Sold a Sony receiver last year went through Evri never again the parcel was not only over a week late I paid over double in the end the buyer wasn’t best pleased I always use Royal Fail now £135 is not a small amount for anyone these days I think insurance is definitely a scam Marty top rant my friend 👍🏻🇬🇧

Absolute nightmare mate. Paying you 25 pounds in itself is admitting liability so why not cover the full amount as they are fully responsible.
