Little late. Most do use a carbon filter but not all do. Just depending on the make model and age of the dehy. This is a very basic break down of a dehy. The ones I run have a Btex which is a heat an cooling process to get condensate trapped in the glycol drop out. We also have a heat exchanger where hot lean glycol flows next to the rich cooler glycol allowing for even more water/condensate to break out and also cooling hot lean glycol to cool off before entering the contact tower

because if it reached the decomposition temperature of TEG it will be be decomposed (TEG) and cant reused in the process and you will have to replace it with new one

when its degrade temp reaches means at that temp it weakens the bond so it loses the absorption nature.
