Three things that have absolutely transformed my life. (I can absolutely relate to this woman’s story) I was strung out on seven prescription drugs. Including pain pills, depression meds. Tranquilizers and more. The three things that have helped so much where changing my eating habits, (cutting out processed foods and processed sugar) learning to allow emotionally healthy people into my life, (this has not been easy) cold showers everyday for the last seven years, and meditating on the Bible promises daily/growing in my relationship with Jesus.

Praise the LORD, Brian. I read the word every morning and I have been taking cold showers for the last 8 years every day. But I still haven't gotten there yet with eating the right way. My wife and I stopped using sugar in our coffee every morning for the last 4 months now but we could do better with our diet.

Unfortunately I had to hit rock bottom in life. Until I realized the Bible is a life changing book. That has taught me how to how a personal relationship with our Creator. Peace and joy are available to all who call on His name.

I have an amazing story if anyone is interested. One time I was driving home and I felt the presence of the Lord, come down to me from above. I started getting chills and I felt so comfortable with Him. I knew if I asked Him to play a song on the radio, He would. So I said "Ok Lord, play Come as you are..." I didn't know what station it was on or anything, but I turned the radio on and the song started playing right on the spot, perfectly... I started getting flooded with chills inside, and started crying. When I got home, He stayed with me for 10 minutes till I got out of the car. I've been getting amazing prayers answered for around 5 years since, because that experience made me stop doubting when I pray, and I follow Biblical instructions, best I can.

This inspired me so deeply. Having tried the ice baths for so many years, but being sent into shock and adrenal fatigue let me know there was more work to do before I would be ready to revisit this healing. I really appreciate her sharing her experience. It validated my own maternal sexual trauma, forgotten and suppressed over the years since toddlerhood. My mother raised me to believe it was my biological father that did the deeds. As an adult I have had many layers of healing to get through before my body and mind met up to remember (in too much detail). Recovering from a 30 year old memory while having 3 young kiddos of my own has felt too big a dragon to slay. But alas, my body knows I am now safe and ready to recall and heal. So, I am grateful to have rediscovered this method and be in a place mentally and emotionally that the cold does not directly send me to shock but to instead allow those suppressed memories and emotions to be safely felt and released. Thank you, endlessly.

At last!!! 🎉❤🎉❤ Nevena so brave of you to speak up and Wim to honour your voice .. breaking the silence and the shame and the stigma around sexual abuse, assault and all the stuff that goes with it. I was in my 50s when i found Wim & ice, by then the impact of decades of emotional suppression & more trauma had taken their toll in chronic pain, spinal issues & auto immune stuff & a lifetime of thinking something was wrong with me. In the ice water, I learned to feel danger & to teach my brain to feel & be in charge of my safety ...slowly along with Dr Joe & other stuff I am liberated...free to be all of me again. Thank you to all sisters ( brothers) healing with nature & Love ❤❤❤❤❤

I am want healthy loving relationships with myself and others. I am learning healthy boundaries. I embrace the cold now. I look forward to it. I also eat a clean diet and am aware how much better I feel getting away from processed food. I grow healthy food in my garden and eat healthy meats and fish.

Cold therapy, stops you from disassociating from your body after a trauma or loss (grief). and helps you feel again. You needed to disassociate when the trauma happened because that’s how your mind and body could cope with it. It was protecting you. But now it’s created gaps and pockets of fear and stress in your body you don’t need this coping mechanism in every day life. Trauma and grief gets stored in your body until you learn how to release it. Medication is only needed with those who can’t even get out of bed or reach a baseline. It has its place. But most of the time medication is not needed and you just need to be able to feel your body again and reattach to what you’ve detached from previously. Cold therapy is amazing and helps with so many physical and mental health conditions.

If one has experienced complex trauma, one has detached from it for a reason. If one was to get in contact with a significant fraction of that trauma, it would be hopelessly overwhelming, so it needs to come out in small chunks in order to be processed. So I wonder if (1) the Wim Hof method might not be suited for some, because it could make too much trauma surface at a time, especially if they are already experiencing those extremel uncomfortable feelings all the time and (2) if the Wim Hof method actually heps to process and resolve trauma faster. That would be a big benefit.
