Deer Season 2023 - Important Updates You Should Know if you bring Deer to Showalter's Meats

Our Family is very thankful for your part in helping to create a record-breaking deer season last year. Thanks to you we were able to process nearly 3,300 deer - including deboned deer in that number:)
This coming deer season we plan to continue taking in whole deer & deer meat that is totally deboned. In order to better serve our customers in a time of growing demand but limited capacity, we have regretfully decided to no longer accept quartered deer. We are happy to process your deer, but it must be either a whole deer, or totally deboned. Thank you for understanding and for your patience with us in our limitations.
This deer season we hope to start a drive thru line to fill out your deer order to hopefully speed up the drop off process. Pay attention to directions in the parking lot to make traffic flow better.
We are adding two new products to our venison specialty options: An Italian venison Salami, and a Hard Venison Salami. Make sure you try a sample when dropping off your deer.
If you are bringing de-boned deer meat for us to process, please follow our recommendations.
1. Must be deer from the current season
2. Deboned deer meat MUST be TOTALLY deboned
3. Must not be frozen (so we can inspect it for cleanliness)
4. Please don't bring your meat in a scented trash bag
5. Please bring your deer meat to us in gallon Zip-Lock bags
We look forward to serving you again this deer season of 2023-2024
