    Quoting Blackmore: The main reason why I left Deep Purple is I didn’t like the pressure from some of the record companies. We had signed a contract saying that we’d make three LPs a year and that just became too much for me... One thing, in this business, it’s a pity, but you’ve got to keep very consistent and musicians sometimes can’t be consistent. To be creative, that doesn’t mean you can be consistent all the time. You’re searching for things. You try new songs. You can’t just keep churning them out like a sausage factory. That’s what we were becoming. And I didn’t like it at all.

    Fantastic reaction Rebeka - so beautifully dissected and explained. It's a classic track and one of the best as a show opener! The "Live in London '74" album was a pretty awesome one, considering they were a new set-up - I remember hearing it live on the radio back in 1974 and it's still one of my favourites! If you enjoyed the guitar work on this one then I would suggest having a listen to "You Fool No One (Live in London)" as Ritchie was on fire that night and created an unbelievable piece of improvisation - followed by an amazing solo. The track is a little long as there is also a drum solo to finish it off - but well worth a listen!

    Hi Rebeka . Thank you much for reacting to the brilliant Deep Purple. I have been a fan since 1969. This track was the title track of the first album with Dave Coverdale and Glenn Hughes replacing Ian Gillan and Roger Glover. Like many fans I was a bit worried who was going to replace the iconic Ian Gillan and Roger Glover....but all my worries were unfounded. I was blown away hearing Burn for this first time in 1974....and still am today. Thank you so much for all your reactions Rebeka. Keep on rocking. Peace and love from Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️

    💚You'd never notice unless you had all the CDs / bootlegs, but someone has expertly woven together a version of Burn from Kilbum '74 and Paris '75, set to visuals from Hammersmith '74 - and there may be parts from other sets, like Cal Jam '74. As I said, someone did an expert job. Now that Lewisham '74's available, you could make a triple set of all the London '74 shows.💙

    You're right. The description on this particular video is a compilation of several concerts. And the Paris concert was released as the massively edited Made in Europe album (as far as I know). Even so, it's still one of my favorite Deep Purple albums. This person also has a concert video of Deep Purple in Japan (1975 Come Taste the Band Tour). The audio doesn't quite match up the video but it's apparently the only decent concert footage of them with this lineup (Tommy Bolin).

    @@jamesharper3933: Am with you 100% on Made in Europe - what a brilliant album. But apparently most of it comes from Saarbrucken, with Graz and Paris parts included too. Blackmore's frantic second solo in You Fool No One is definitely from Paris. Why more from Saarbrucken hasn't been released, I don't know. Re. Mk4, I think I've seen that video. Some of the best bootlegs are from Australia and New Zealand, as Wild Dogs was still in the set. Peace!

    What else to say about such an amazing performance like this one? When it's said that Deep Purple was by the 70's and is one of the most important bands in Rock History, this is what we're talking about! Regarding to the guitar, I agree with you, for Ritchie Blackmore is one of the greatest guitarists ever!!! But, excuse me, it's nearly a crime analysing this video and not saying anything about one more great, awesome performance of one of the greatest keyboardists in Rock History, Jon Lord! (R.I.P.)! And, if you want suggestions of Deep Purple's songs to react to: "Strange kind of woman"; "Wasted sunsets"; "Perfect Strangers" (official music video); "Knocking at your back door". As far as I remember, it seems to me you've already reacted to "Smoke on the water".

    Hi Rebeka, here are a couple of fun facts for you. The sound during Deep Purple‘s '72 concert at London's Rainbow Theatre hit 117 decibels. I've read it was so loud that three people in the audience became unconscious from the noise. The current world record holders are supposedly Kiss, who reached a 136 decibels during a concert in Canada in '09. Their name was inspired by a1933 song of the same name composed by Peter DeRose, which was the favorite song of Ritchie Blackmore‘s grandmother.

    Glenn Hughes (bass) was in Deep Purple from 1974 to 1976... he is a lead singer as well in the 70's band Trapeze. He struggled for years w/ drug and alcohol abuse after '76, but eventually recovered and has been busy w/ solo albums... numerous projects like Black Country Communion (w/ guitarist Joe Bonamassa), etc. In 1986, Glenn Hughes did lead vocals for 1 Black Sabbath album ('Seventh Star') which was great... but his addictions got him ousted soon after for poor live performances.

  • @42Mrgreenman
    @42Mrgreenman7 ай бұрын

    Great choice! Glenn can really pierce the sky with those high notes, and the guitars always rock the house...but if you are interested in something mellow and dark with the same title, try Burn by The Cure...It's from the movie soundtrack to The Crow...a gothic 90's comic book adaptation starring Brandon Lee, the son of Bruce Lee...who also tragically died on the set when a dummy handgun round (a bullet without any gunpowder, used for camera shots of a loaded gun) had the bullet tip lodge in the gun, then when the gun was fired with a blank round (Gunpowder but no bullet), it projected the stuck bullet into Brandon's chest and killed him (At least as far as we know)...it's a crazy story, and The Cure's, Burn is basically the movie's theme song...

    Hi Rebeca!!! Another great reaction!! The first things I want to tell you are...Hold!! Do not change!! Keep It up!!!! I tell you this because I am sadly watching many reaction channels disappear on YT, and I hope that your channel stays alive for a long time and that it grows, more, more and more. I have been following you for some time but I have never written to you because: (1) I am quite shy with people I don't know, and (2) I have little time, but today I decided y (3) my english smells like a dead ratt inside a dead cat. Horrible !! I have been following you for some time but I have never written to you because: (1) I am quite shy with people I don't know, and (2) I have little time, and (3) muy english smells like a dead ratt inside a dead cat. First, I have to tell you that my favorite musical genres are HARD ROCK/METAL and CLASSICAL MUSIC. Well, I wanted to make you a recommendation: Since you are very young, I want to recommend a song from 1985 (I'm sure that in that year you weren't even a little person project). I'll tell you a little bit: HEAR N'AID - "STARS" The Hear n' Aid project was metal's response to pop music charities such as Band Aid and USA For Africa; whose organizers had not invited anyone from hard rock/metal (as alppears like this (and you can check it by watching the video) Hear n' Aid was founded in 1985 by Ronnie James Dio, a long-time contributor to numerous charitable projects over the years. Hear n' Aid didn't get much media coverage and didn't achieve box office sales like Band Aid or USA for Africa, but it generated a respectable amount of revenue. Ronnie James Dio (Dio/Black Sabbath/Rainbow/Elf), Jimmy Bain (Dio/Rainbow) and Vivian Campbell (Dio/Def Leppard) were responsibles for writing "Stars", the single originally written that would help generate income for the hunger. In May 1985, Dio gathered more than 40 hard rock/metal musicians from around the world, and they recorded the song "Stars." The following is a list of lead vocals: Ronnie James Dio: from Dio Dave Meniketti: from Y&T (Yesterday & Today) Rob Halford: from Judas Priest Kevin Dubrow: from Quiet Riot Eric Bloom: from Blue Oyster Cult Paul Shortino: from Rough Cutt Geoff Tate: from Queensryche Don Dokken: from Dokken The highlight, for me, is the guitar solo, which consists of 7 chained guitar solos, in turn divided into several parts, but perfectly united so that it almost seems like a single solo. The transitions are perfect. And, although it is quite long, I am sure it will stay in your head. GUITAR SOLOS: - 1st solo in 4 parts: Craig Goldy/Eddie Ojeda/Craig Goldy/Eddie Ojeda (from the bands Giuffria/Twisted Sister) - 2nd solo in 3 parts: Vivian Campbell/Brad Gillis/Vivian Campbell (from the bands Dio/Night Ranger) - 3rd solo in 3 parts: Neal Schon/George Lynch/Neal Schon (from the bands Journey/Dokken) - 4th solo in 3 parts: Yngwie Malmsteen/Vivian Campbell/ Yngwie Malmsteen (from the bands Yngwie Malmsteen/ Dio) - 5th solo in 4 parts: George Lynch/Carlos Cavazo/George Lynch/Carlos Cavazo (from the bands Dokken/Quiet Riot) - 6th solo in 2 parts: Brad Gillis, Craig Goldy (from the bands Night Ranger, Giuffria) - 7th solo: Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser (from the band Blue Oyster Cult) Last solo and Outro of this part. All of the melodic guitars (or rhythm guitars) lines were performed by Adrian Smith and Dave Murray (both from Iron Maiden). Bass: Jimmy Bain (from Dio) Drums: Vinny Appice (from Dio) Keyboards: Claude Schnell (from Dio) This song has the great advantage that, by having numerous singers and guitarists, all of them of very high level, it will allow you to decide if any of them deserve to be heard with their respective bands. This is the song that I always recommend to get started in the world of hard rock/metal. REACT OR NOT REACT, THAT IS THE QUESTION....😊 If you decide to react to this recommendation,...just....WoW!!! I hope you like it as much as I do. But if you decide not to react, I will understand, cause you must receive thousands of recomendations and not everything can be addressed. And I will continue being a subscriber to your Channel and giving you likes, whatever you decide. It is a recommendation, not an order. There are people who get very angry when their suggestion is not heeded. Your Channel, your rules. No one has to tell you what to do and what not to do. Anyway, if you decide not to react, I highly recommend that you listen to this song in private, just for yourself, because I really think you will like it. Make sure you get a correct link. My favorite is this one below: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqBll7mjYrDdhdo.htmlsi=rvza6yPHdLXSzyRm ...although the list of lead guitars is divided incorrectly in the video. Trust the list I gave you above because I have an original vinyl and it appears like this (and you can check it by watching the video) CONCLUSION: This song is a "kind of summary" of the hard rock/metal of the first half of the 80s Greetings from Spain! (Wow, if I write to you again I will try to be much shorter, since this looks like the complete works of Shakespeare....)

    I don't think anything Blackmore played on this video synced up to the audio. Which may actually be Blackmore's doing as he didn't want anyone filming him playing because he believed it gave away his "secrets". Blackmore had (has?) a reputation for being a prankster who takes the joke way too far, creating tension issues in whatever band he is with. One of his more notorious stunts happened when he was with Rainbow. He had the door to his keyboard player's hotel room bricked up, essentially sealing him in. Took some time to get him out of there and that gag along with others made for a lot of bad juju between the two.

    A great song by deep purple mark III. Purple almost never is recognized as one of the greatest. The holy trilogy of the early 70's Zeppelin. More bluesy.folk and rock/hard rock Purple hard rock oriented a bit like to progressive/hard rock but heavy too Sabbath more obscure/datk/thick totally different styles of music

    Thank you Rebekah (KZread Goddess). I believe this particular video is a compilation of footage from Paris and other concerts. Also, I believe the Paris concert was released as their 1975 live Made in Europe album. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. It is also one of my favorite Deep Purple albums.

    Guitarist was Ritchie Blackmore and he's scary good player. Bassist was Glenn Hughes and his were the high pitched vocals. He thought he would be the lead vocalist and bass player as he had been in his previous band Trapeze. Ritchie wanted a slightly deeper bluesier more masculine sounding voice, which is why they hired unknown singer David Coverdale. Plus Ritchie didn't want Deep Purple to just be a quartet. They'd always had a lead singer, bass player, keyboardist, drummer, and lead guitarist. Great a voice as Glenn Hughes has? Deep Purple was and always has been a five piece band. Ritchie was the one behind keeping drummer Ian Paice from being a double kick drummer, except on the song Fireball when singer Ian Gillan was still in the band. (Ironic, considering that when Ritchie Formed Rainbow? Except for their debut album, every drummer for Rainbow was a double kick drummer. Go figure.)
