@@matt01506 Right! It's suddenly occurred to me that it would be fun - by way of demonstrating our point - to get a group of rock fans to nominate (say) their ten favourite bands, based upon their lead guitarist/singer, and _then_ get them to name the bassist and drummer. I'm sure there'd be some gaps there! It's only fairly recently, for example, that even the highly nameable Ringo Starr has won recognition for _his_ special contribution to Beatlemusic. And no wonder poor old Bill Wyman always looked so bloody miserable on stage, back in the day (although the groupies afforded some consolation, no doubt)!

This song was written in 10 minutes in the back of the tour bus on the way to a gig. upon arriving at the venue they perfected the song during sound check and performed it that night live. That's what you call real musicianship. Sadly missed today.

Saludos

This performance on the album Made In Japan is brutal and beautiful at the same time. It is very macho and in a pub which played it often I observed pretty female reactions to it and many times this proved too strong for them. It is testament to you that you have done very well to accommodate this strong glass of whiskey Rebeka! At 1.29 where Ritchie comes in with that screeching intro is the personification of freedom and I often hear it stood at airport ques and other stressful situations. Another crazy fact is that the Made In Japan album - from which this comes - was mixed live and recorded directly to stereo at the concert. So no post production possible, not even adjusting the individual instrument levels

Growining up in my teens during the 70s i got to see purple on 3 occasions amongst many other bands , didnt no then but looking back now in my mid sixties what a remarkable and amazing time that was to be alive for music. Keep up the good work rebeka theres still alot of great bands your missing out on like bad company, montrose, black Sabbath, thin lizzy , to name just a few . 👍

Hi Rebeka. Thank you so much for reacting to one of my favourite bands Deep Purple...and one of my favourite tracks. I have always been a fan ...and had all of the album's before Machine Head. I was 14 /15 yrs old when this album came out. The driving force of this track blew my mind ...a typical Purple track to open up a album. I know you are not a metalhead but you know a good rock band when you hear one👍. I really love your channel and reactions. Take care, stay safe. Peace and love from Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️

It's great to see you again, Becks. You gave me a nice birthday present. And the song? Well, they're the Godfathers of Heavy Metal. They were my first live concert ever back in 2000 (I was 12). My Deep Purple TOP 3 is: 1) Smoke On The Water 2) Woman From Tokyo 3) Pictures Of Home ¡ ¡ ¡ GOOD JOB ! ! !

I love you reactions.. your so inhibited, you just rock out & feel the song, not only listen. I’m 70 & a massive Purple fan.. I was 22 when they were hitting their straps.. I could imagine reacting like you when I first heard Purple.. but I didn’t, I was busting inside though.. lol

That feeling creeping in your arms, and chest; thats how the shake in rock dancing happened. To shake it off and not get overwhelmed. Even little kids would lose it, like jelly beans. Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmoore put out power chords like no other! 😆 The songs about the feeling of being in control of powerful emotions that take you. Like driving a beast, or the moment you realise you are in love, not just obssessing or infatuated. Its like an electric connection, you suddenly realise some woman plugged-in.

About 30 years ago (when I was 8), my parents visited a friend of theirs who had this double LP (Deep Purple - Made in japan). I used to ask him to plug the headphones and let me listen to the record. Adults were hanging out and I was the happiest child on earth. Great performances. All of the songs. As a matter of fact latter as a teenager when I 'discovered' the studio versions of Highway star - child in time - smoke on the water - strange kind of woman etc I remember being very disappointed of how bad they sound compared to "made in japan" versions.

5 unique people who worked like a machine, but a machine loaded with passion. Hard to find people who complimented each other like that. Sheer fire, but with dexterity & control, yet bordering on being out of control.

Immediately I can tell you the audio is from Made in Japan (probably the greatest live album) and the video is from Copenhagen 1972. Great reaction. Top 3 Deep Purple songs is a tough call... 1. Child in Time. 2. Lazy. 3. insert any one from many other songs here.....

Great choice Rebeka! Amazing song, reminds me of when I wore a much younger man's clothes! The video of studio audio with live footage clips is also amazing. Drummer Ian Paice (one of the best rock drummers ever) has a cool KZread channel where he talks about a variety of subjects.
