Death and the ending of consciousness 2
Extract from the fourteenth conversation with Allan W. Anderson in San Diego, 1974.

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

What a beautiful loving being, trying to explain his tremendous ancient wisdom to a mere analytical, intellectual man pretending to understand....The words of Krishnamurti are like eternal, precious pearls.

Your lauding of krishnamurti here should tell you that you have understood nothing of what he is saying. Notice that you praise Krishnamurti at the expense of the gentleman who is talking with him having a discussion interviewing him. You say he is pretending to understand Krishnamurti and yet you are doing the exact same thing but in a different way i.e. by acknowledging his greatness you pretend to understand or think you understand or convince yourself you understand what krishnamurti is saying here but the poor other fellow doesn't. Pfft. This is what happens when you put someone on a pedestal, at the same time you degrade another human being and put him into a lower level of some kind. You just praised Krishnamurti here so your ego could sound important, so your ego could sound spiritual and so making yourself out to be wise - wise enough to know that krishnamurti is to be praised and the other gentleman is not to be esteemed. You embarrassed yourself with your own comment here. Krishnamurti would not invite such a comment to himself. Let that sink in before you embarrass yourself with another mindless comment in which you think you're saying something good.

@@tomcloud54 So true, I came here hungry for truth, and I am going away with less truth, either I didn't understand a thing, or they couldn't make me understand, for instance "The beauty in things ... and not the object of beauty... is immortal. And mind can't grasp it because it is not in the field of consciousness." Has left me badly confused, beauty results from an object, if there was no object there would be no beauty, so how can beauty be immortal, it can vanish with mortal object.

I could be mistaken, but I believe the fact that something was ever beautiful at all is what makes it immortal. Time doesn’t matter in that aspect.

"Here Now" rather, than "Here AND Now". If we are to include the conjunction "And" in between we still are on "Time" realm, and time, like thought is movement, hence we are still on mind analysis, which is paralysis.

  • @primajump
    @primajump Жыл бұрын

According to JK, no analysis is complete. It follows from that, any continual analytical exercise is total paralysis - we do not get to the truth this way. There goes the scientific inquiry out of the window. Just watching the body language ( I am being analytical here, but I cannot help but to indulge) tells me how engaged both of these gentlemen in the subject of conversation. So, wonderful to see how attentive Andersen is to JK and how he invites JK to check on his understanding of what comes out of JK. Just to experience the animated JK and the enthusiasm and passion he shows when he speaks and the command of the language of expression is to me a real treat. Thank you for making this available to us.

I think he means that death is the destruction of the lower ego. That's why the vitality to which he refers. The mind trying to be eternal and the complete release from fear. He puts things together with his beautiful intelligence. "What is it that dies?" "Can the content of consciousness be emptied?" Means no attachment. "The emptying of that is the real death."

He is talking about the willingness to venture consciously into the "Valley of the Shadow of Death". There must be the willingness to die, to give up whatever it is that keeps me tied to this ego. Willingness and "analysis" will never complete the journey... so thinking will never work... it must be some radical surrender that must take place. The surrender will happen if the intent is clear. It will happen of its own accord. You will have no control of it, yet your willingness is essential. Good luck.

@@FootyFrenzyHD there is Physical death, you are dead. Then there is death of psyche, which means the identification of everything you indentify with. Your beliefs, your views, your likes, your dislikes. The Content of you. You believe you are the person thinking, you belive you own things, your whole experience of life which is you right. What happenens when you get into an accident and loose all memory of what you know about yourself, everything is empty. The person you are would be dead right, everything all experiences and likes and dislikes that you indentify with as you would be gone. So the person, the identity would be gone dead. You live but what was you is dead. The identity is the attachements, everything you enquired in life. He talks about if you can free yourself from all the attachements, everything you identity with, looking on the world as a pure observer that doesnt indentify with what you think, want or do. If you loose all attachements your identity is dead. What we think death is not just the Physical body dying but also all the attachements with it. What will happen to me when i die right? But if the Content of me is removed that would mean im dead too. You have a language, you have gathered experiences that let you know what you like dislikes, you have built up a whole life in judging, compairing and having fears of what might happend because you think and are scared. People are so scared of loosing who they think they are so they hold on to views they gathered in life from the outside. And it has become them. All these attachements because there is fear of loosing themselves. If I dont do what i like, what will there be left. What if i dont work to get a title im nothing. Im meaningless. This ego is the feeling of the need of safety, need of importance. So you cant grasp what it is to live because you are so afraid of dying the person you have put so much emotion into thoughts, ideas and right and wrong thinking. So scared that the image of you is gone. If you are scared of loosing this image you think you are, you hold on to it with your whole life depending on it. Then you cant grasp whats after it. The dying of the ego is the death that people are so scared about. Not that they stop living. They want the person to keep living but that person can die when they live like loosing your memory or freeing yourself from all attachements. Only then you will see.

I think I had a small satori there from remembering when K said "YOU ARE FEAR". now the analyzer is the analyzed. you are all the negativity and suffering. you can actually realize this, try it. when you become your fear, your suffering, it not only loses the suffering aspect, but there is a moment of stillness resulting from it. you TRULY ARE all the things that are going on in your body, e.g. I personally suffer from disease. DO NOT see it as separate from you, you ARE IT. the suffering TURNS INTO joy, it DOES NOT DISAPPEAR, it loses the thought aspect to it. I find this infinitely easier than "accepting it" because in accepting there is still the analyzer and the analyzed, forget about it. you are absolutely your body and not your brain separate from the body. now when this happens there is instant peace and watching. when the satori happens, there is not a part of your experience separate, there is not the realization of the painful stomach as me but aching back is not me, it either is ALL you or it is not. you return to yourself and you won't be surprised, it's not something special. it can happen in many ways, it also happened to me during watchful meditation and during transcendental meditation. the techniques just hint towards it, completely distract from thoughts

I get it! At first it blinks at you. After this part of existence. I'm free of it's conception and my conceptualizations of life's boundaries of it's totality including after it's (This time around in this skin bag I occupy). It's like this is a detour away from the all of me... squeezed into this package in this place with its physics. This whole thing I've been dropped into is just the tip of the all of eternity of which I am and came from in the first place. And even this might not be my first place of existence physically of any image. But I don't know.

Believing that any part of us exists after death is only for cowards who can not mentally accept or face the fact that every life is finite . End of story !

Linda, if you made arrangements now concerning who will take and love your pets if you predecease them, it would ease your mind. (People do that when they have children...just in case, ya know?)☮🕊
