In 2009 I was three months pregnant and first watched the movie waitress and saw that the character was in the same rut I was. Pregnant and in an abusive relationship. Hearing this reminds me of all I've overcome. I left that horrible man, and my daughter lights up my life with such passion and love. Yes some days it is hard, yes you might think that you can't do it alone, but you can. With faith, trust, (and a little pixie dust, lol) you can achieve marvellous things. If I can do it, anyone can. To quote one of my favourite people, fear of a name (or thing) only increases fear of the thing itself. The only thing that stands between you and your dream, is you yourself. I believe in you.

Lovely rendition, Carrie! This song is so moving. I was Jessie's dresser for the run of Waitress in Boston, and having a quick change with her immediately after this scene was so hard - I couldn't listen to her sing or I'd wind up in tears during the change. Everyone will be happy to know that she and Sara are both as kind and funny as they are talented!

I don't comprehend why you're not the biggest star in the world. You're extremely talented, with a voice like an angel, and quite beautiful as well. You are fantastic, Carrie Hope Fletcher! I mean that most sincerely.

you can literally sing ba ba black sheep and I would listen to it a 100 times

you neighbours are lucky to be able to probably hear that voice so often...you're insane I tell you! INSANE

Hi! Thought you might appreciate just a few friendly piano technique related tips (as a pianist myself) which are small, but I think will help! Be careful not to stretch your fingers out flat when you play - try and keep them like a 'claw' shape, curved over the notes and nicely relaxed (not tense) touching the keys with the tips of your finger. It will allow you to play delicately with much more ease and control! Particularly watch your left hand middle finger as it was bending inwardly a lot, which was just slightly painful for me to watch haha.. One good way to help with all of this is to lift your elbows outwards to the side more (imagine you're a puppet on strings being pulled upwards), as that will naturally make your hands curve more, and will just make playing easier! For your voice I have no tips because it is crafted by the Gods themselves. Beautiful cover! Hope this was in any way useful! x

Along similar lines I tell my students to pretend they're holding an orange and that keeps the hands in place. Beautiful job though Carrie! I've been playing through this a lot recently too. Chooooon!

You haven't blasted her technique yet you offer some really useful tips that not only will help Carrie but also other people (like me!) who are trying to better their piano playing. You worded it in a lovely way, I have read some other people's comments who have not managed to word their opinions so delicately, so thanks for being a decent human!

This is honestly one of the most beautiful covers of this song I have ever heard. So full of emotion and still sung with such absolute perfection!! How are you able to sustain you your high belting with such consistency and purity of sound??

Really really beautiful! You may not enjoy this kind of comment, so feel free to skim over it if you want! But as a piano teacher, I just thought I might be able to offer a couple of *hopefully* helpful tips for your piano playing! 1. Sit a little further away from the piano, and maybe on a cushion so you're a bit higher - your wrists should be fairly flat not higher than your hands. Sitting further away means you can move around the piano more comfortably too. 2. Curl your fingers more so you're playing on the tips. Straight fingers mean you're using all the wrong muscles (if your hand aches after playing for a while, this is why!). Imagine you're holding a ball or an orange - that's the correct hand position. But thanks for sharing - this is a beautiful song and you performed it so well! xxx
