It was in the guiness book of world records back in 2007 because it's the most venomous spider on earth as in its venom is the most dangerous. The reason the Male Sydney funnel webb spider is considered the most deadly is because it unlike most species of spider has the ability to repeatably inject you with its venom over a very very very short amount on time it's also extremely aggressive.

That was a female. Larger than the male as is typical amongst spiders but the male is more venomous and aggressive in this case.

There's a great channel on here called "Dave's Little Beasties" where he goes into great detail on all sorts of massive spiders like this one. He mentioned that it's the male of the funnel webs that actually are the most deadly for two reasons. 1. The females do not roam about and stay in one place; the males are always searching for a female and often stumble upon residential areas in their search, so are much more likely to contact humans 2. The male's venom is far more dangerous to humans than the female's Did you determine whether it was a male or a female? If I had to guess I would say male, because it was out in the wild roaming about.

Hello, spider/tarantula owner and expert here lol. This specific spider is a female and this is how you can tell: 1. Male spiders are skinnier and not as thick as females. This is a pretty healthy/thick looking spider. 2. This spider's abdomen is rounder, if it was a male, its rump would be longer than it would be rounder 3. The leg shape seems to be thicker which would make it a female. Males have skinny and long legs. Hope this helps, have a good day!

Yeah he did it on purpose for dramatic effect for the camera. He really didn't care about showing us how big it is compared to his hand, he just wanted the film to be more dramatic.

7:17 Actually Coyote and the other people in the comment section, even though it applies to other really venomous spiders like the Black Window for example, more rarely than not, its possible for them to unsuspectingly hide in footwear like slippers and socks when travelling into houses, even the likes of handwear like various gloves, and among other clothing depending on the circumstances. This is why it should be highly recommended to put them into boxes for example so they won't have to hide inside them.

Further down south in Melbourne I've woken up to a Victorian funnell Web spider crawling on my bedroom floor and also just missed touching a red back while clearing out my grandma's shed. I've also been bitten by a white tail and woken up to hunstman crawling on me. All of these times freaked me out but to hear people can get symptoms/ die within 15 mins of the Sydney funnell Web would be something else. Like imagine your by yourself and pass out and don't make it to the hospital in time... yikes.

I believe they may be in a tie because the two venoms are not the same type. Sydney Funnel Web is more aggressive, but the lungs are under-developed. The Brazillian Wandering Spider doesn't get fatigued so easily. I could be incorrect, but I believe the Sydney Funnel Web is worse. It really depends on how the person's body reacts to the venom.

While I would watch the video anyway, I DO disagree with the choice of title, as it makes it sound like he let himself get bitten by this _(which honestly would have made me angry at him, because that's crossing a borderline)_ for entertainment. They're not deadly, but they hurt. I've copped a huntsman bite. My hand and up my arm was very uncomfortable for a few days and I had a big swollen red lump.

I'm no expert but I don't think any of the funnel web species can climb that well. Not sure what it would have been to look similar to that and be able to hang on a roof. I could be wrong though.
