I don't miss Jerry running the same effects patch all night with that goofy envelope filter on all the time like the last two shows I saw him on. Yes, Mayer is too linear some of the time here and not always where he needs to be in the pocket, but I think overall he is honoring the tradition. He's no Jimmy Herring, but Herring is not a singer.
