I've been a dead head for over 35 years and we thought every show was good and some shows were great and some were unbelievable. We never, ever talked bad about our band or our fellow deadheads. In fact, we didn't talk mean, love was very real. We loved all the songs and all the band members. The music is the magic and the band is the magical band . The names change and some leave us. We grieve like you can't imagine, but we welcome new band members with open arms and then that is that. They are the dead. They are in our band and we are thrilled and the band is thrilled and the music is a little different but it changes and gets great. It has the same essence that is the Dead. We are so Grateful and always the Dead. I hope you can join, too. It's ok if you can't, it's not for everyone. I love many who are not deadheads. If you are, you know it deep inside yourself. You are content and glad. We love each other because They Love Each Other.

Well said. I've always felt that the Grateful & the Dead referred to ALL of us, band as well as audience. We all have a limited time here on this planet and its a miracle that we are here. And to have been born into an age with this band being here simultaneously, is a blessing and joy that can't even be put into words. We are family, all of us. And every time they play and we gather its another family re-union. Keep your love light on, appreciate this moment and the next and the next. Papa Jerry is no longer with us, he's gone, but Uncle's Bobby, Phil, Bobby and Mickey keep showing up for the gatherings, keep welcoming in new members to the heart of gold band. Its a sacred and beautiful thing we all belong to... :) The message simple, we're all gonna die but BE GRATEFUL, here and now. Every moment a miracle.

bj s -I have been seeing the dead live since 1968 and I can politely and honestly disagree with you. I have been to over 250 dead shows, and I have been to several “stinkers”. Many most likely had to do with the band being on drugs for the performance. Some were just poorly designed musical setlists with poor/sloppy playing. Any band can have a bad day, and THE GD have had their share. I do however think this incarnation of the band is the best it’s ever been since the late 70’s. Oteil is a better bass player than Phil, Jeff is far and above a better keyboard player than the last group of deceased and even Bruce Hornsby. John is brilliant and in my humble opinion, as the years go by, John, Oteil and Jeff will be the nucleus of the future of this band, as the original members are aging and in or close to their 70’s. They can only be active until the are not. What I personally would like to see is Robert Hunter get together with John and Bob and write one more album of original songs, while Hunter is still alive. I’m sure he has an untapped Catalog of poems/songs just made for this band. Thanks to the entire band from all Deadheads in Illinois.

Another incredible concert video and audio. These guys are alive and tearing it up. No, they aren't the Dead but Jerry died. They have brought this music alive and Jerry never wanted to own it. Jerry never played it just the same way and neither do these guys. They have breathed life into this great music and I for one plan to enjoy the heck out of it. I hope they write some new music and just keep it going.

John is doing a grate job. He is doing his homework and it shows....He gets it. Also Otiel's playing is sweet too and he has the voice of an angel.... Dont let the haters get you down. I went to lots of shows in the 80s and the 90s and saw many Furthur shows too and Dead and Co. I've only seen a couple times in person but I watch these streams and enjoy them as often as I can. I am overjoyed that young folks get to have the same kind experience I did as a young man...... Jerry built something that will last and Dead and Co prove that. Man this china>rider is killer...... Stay Kind!!!! P.S. I am sad the summer tour this year got cancelled because I had tickets to a few nights...

I play the same line when I'm jamming this song either alone or with friends - but i'll tell you, I play in a completely different way than Bob does...my version of the fingering is FAR less fluid than Bobby's line...his hands stay in the same position whereas I'm all over the frets...hence the fact that Bobby is a far more accomplished guitarist than myself..but it's still a lot of fun to rock out on.

Mayer has been owning black muddy river amongst many more. As skeptical as anyone, this incarnation has blown me away. They were great last summer but this time around was on a new level entirely. I was seeing real tears all around me at Fenway. Loveddddd Furthur and fare thee well, and I love my bootlegs (I'm only 25) but I'll be continue to be around for the long haul with these guys!

I always loved going to Cuyahoga, this was a great night. If you have seen enough shows you learn there's always a path every night. Bobby all but says outright, everybody needs some loving to close the show. So I knew they were going to drop a bomb of emotions to send us home. Having said that I did not expect this Black Muddy River to tear my soul out and rearrange my molecules. It was powerful timing and beautiful sweet sorrow. Damn I still miss Jerry on a daily basis. It was the last song Jerry ever played for many of us.

Epic fail. Oteil was by far the longest running bass player in the Allman Brothers and was a star in the minds and ears of their fans (including me) decades ago. Also founding bassist in Tedeschi Trucks Band and Aquarium Rescue Unit. In my mind only Phil Lesh is a bigger star in the world of jam band bassists. He's an amazing bass player and a great dude

A delightful exploration into improvisation but without the life or death consequences of high voltage electricity. The vertical generation is alive and well and on its next iteration of the x-factor interplay. On the cosmic level, a free show stimulates the simultaneous worldwide miracle energy input. The more gratitude, the Deader, just like taping. The positive outflow is a critical input for our temporal Zeitgeist, which is compellingly surreal. Thank You Boys!
