Dead Can Dance (Very Rare) 2008, Remastered 4AD Records Promo
Музыка
The title says it all. KZread has just about everything but it didn't have this gem yet! A special promo sampler release from my KZSC Santa Cruz radio broadcasting days. I actually like the album sequencing flow of this collection just as much as any of their other official releases. Fully remastered, and sounds great to me!

Life-changing music
The best band in the world.
55 and been taking journeys with DCD since the 80’s. Exquisite work. Lisa and Brendan took me places you can’t just… go to. 😌♥️🔥🫥
The Host of Seraphim is one of the best pieces of music ever composed. I still get goosebumps every time that I hear it.

Did you see the movie Baraka? I find it a must, the horror and beauty of humanity in such a good balance that it leaves one in ahw. The host of Seraphim is in there

Lisa's voice is as voice of our planet : Strong, Wild and Crying. Angry and Gentle. Beautifull tones and overtimes thoughts in music.❤❤❤❤❤

I believe I won this cd in an urban outfitters contest. My roommate and I were counting change to get a coffee during art school and this little gift of music made our day.

Good human
So many others desperately try to replicate the DCD sound, but try as they might, their grand efforts fall short of the excellence they chase.
So dark, so etheral, so beautiful
It stayes one of the best group of musicians i ever heard since i was 14 years old....long time ago. Still in love.

Was fortunate to hear them in concert at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. Remarkable.
Dead Can Dance is also known for The Mist (2007), Unfaithful (2002) and Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010). Baraka 1992
Great selection from a great band. Transcendent.
When Lisa Gerrard would sing in the car her little girls would say: "sing real words mommy". I heard that on an NPR interview.

There is wisdom in not using actual words. Real words engage your intellect. The music gets passed that easily...
I never forget the Concert in Cologne in 93 with my best friend and my Cousine stoned and drunk til the next morning IT was one of the best nights in my Life thank god for it
The first time I heard this group was back in Phoenix, AZ back in 1994, while I was going to school at DeVry University. The song that really hooked me was The Ubiquitous Mr. Love Groove. For years I tried to find it then out of the blue I heard it on the radio in Salt Lake City, UT in a fast food drive thru lane waiting for our food. I told my wife about this song then some friends gave me a burned CD of the record it was from.
I knew this would be ghe day. I finally after 30 years have found that track.. The missing track.... 1989 mix tape almost complete
I remember this album so sad so beautiful so dark I love it
Mysterious, dunkel, spirituell, geheimnisvoll und... Wunderschön!!! 💜💜💜🍸🍸🥀🥀🥀🥀!!!
thank you for the music it's wonderfull
The first time i heard about Dead Can Dance was the voice of Lisa Gerrard on the Soundtrack of Gladiator. I instantly fell in love with the passion in her voice. I consider this movie and the soundtrack still as one of the best ever recorded soundtracks. But DCD still belongs to the best artists in the music industry when it comes to this kind of music.

Dead can dance is my favorit banda. 😘
DCD are a a really good at tapping corners of music not in the main stream, with rich and etherial emotive experiences. From so many levels their songs approach from the light and shadow of the world and history. This is indeed, is a good offering of music from a number of their albums up through 2008, showing subtle brilliance in a number of their slower songs and the diversity by which they channel their focuses. A great upload... Thank you.

as a long time fan of DCD, this is indeed an excellent compilation - thanks for sharing!
I remember finding this CD, in a Wax Trax record store, in Cleveland. I was already a fan, who owned a lot of their vinyl, but this mix was so well put together, it's great.
I had tickets to see them and then the coof happened.. And they just canceled their current tour as well... luckily i saw the Labyrinth tour.. amazing
I lived in Santa Cruz CA in the early 90 s listening to this and doing art . I went full circle a few times since this full circle.

I grew up/was raised in Santa Cruz. I was introduced to this band before even completing my first circle around the sun, my mother played their music to my twin and I every night on a CD she burned for us to fall asleep to. I started making art myself as soon as physically possible. I’m now 25 and just started writing music of my own for the first time, with instruments previously unavailable to me, because GarageBand allows me to digitally play instruments that I don’t have the means to own. I had ideas of the kind of music that I wanted to create, but I just started messing around instead, without a direction in mind. I always thought that I’d want to make Deathrock or Darkwave. After a few hours I had completed my first song and I surprised myself with the direction and energy of what I came out of it with. I’m so used to needing to tirelessly labor to develop skill in any medium, never satisfied or proud of my work, even if others consider my work skillful, but for the first time in my life, I surprised myself by feeling inherent talent in what I created. It reminded me more of Dead Can Dance than anything, which was very unexpected for me. The way this band influences and affects art, even subconsciously, is really something special.
Thanks to this musical group. I will always love you all of the band members, especially the "Singer"
Wunder bar tanzt Death😮
DCD are before and after all the music I listened since I was born. The are beyond and above all sounds. I saw them for a twice in Lisbon, and it was a magnificient experience. Stunning and complete !!
Ich liebe die weisheit, den gothsound den nur DCD so hinbekommt und die Hoffnung die in jeden Titel mitschwingt unnachahmlich. Balsam ❤❤
.. long time ago I hear this album.. love it (thx, Momber) - miss that inspiring time
Thanks! Dead can dance is always the good thing. No matter what, it is good!

In Baraka, at the end of the Host of Seraphim, the japanese butoh dancers complete the sequence perfectly and make misty eyed.

Oooo! These guys put out some compelling music back in their day.
Obrigada... Maravilhosa! Voltei no tempo.
Thank you for posting. I am a huge fan since the days of Spleen & Ideal. You are very correct, this is an excellent representation of their work. Great overview for the uninitiated and obviously fun for the seasoned enthusiast. 8 selections from their first 8 releases. Also a good introduction is found on "A Passage in Time" (their first compilation and first widely distributed and popular US release). But it only sampled 4 of their first 5 albums. Looking forward to the much much delayed and delayed again 2020 US Tour...

Nice find. Love me some 4AD.
Still Stirring after all these years. Oh to hear them again for the first time in Stearns Grove in San Francisco years ago, what a concert. I remember clouds of weed and deeply tanned women grooving so nicely to these deep and stirring tones. ohhhhh! The memory hurts. damn time.
The dead can dance right out of the fucking room to get away from this noise. I wonder how many people who comment play an instrument or know anything about music structure.
What a great record!
This is beautiful. Ty.
Digital music cannot be rare, it's either available or unavailable.

Most of it are from the 80s and early 90s, I used to listen 'The Carnival is over'. The song 'The Host of Seraphin' was sampled by duo The Future Sound London in the track Papua New Guane wich became a classic.

Distinctive, it's own.. Genre!
DCD what are your influences? Girard: birds, angels, whales, wind, magic Perry: umm... Sinatra?
