came here from a tiktok of a professor having his students sit outside in nature and reflect while listening to this and have assigned myself homework to do the same.

We play this in the astronomy observatory I work at. Imagine being there at night, in the dim red lighting inside the observatory dome, waiting in line to go up the telescope steps, and then seeing your first in-person, real-life view of Saturn, while hearing this music. Transcendent.

My mum is 65 yrs old and i just introduced her to Sigur Ros's music for her first time. She loves them and she just said "This is something special. I have never listened to something like this in the world. THIS is music". She comes into my room and says "Please put THOSE songs". That's how we spend quarantine. Italian mamma loving Sigur Ros

I’m deaf and I have a cochlear implant, but I never really connected with music. Sure, I enjoy going dancing or to concerts if someone asks me to join in since I did enjoy the atmosphere. It became exhausting straining to understand the lyrics and watching others get raptured by the music. Then someone like me introduced me to this. I can live without music unlike a lot people have claimed about themselves, but I think I would be sad to never listen to this again. So lovely and peaceful.

been making music for twenty years, i have never come even remotely close to making anything as beautiful as sigur ros. there is a magik here that speaks to my whole soul. the girl i love most in the world used to lay next to me and listen to this, it took me two years to be able to listen to it by myself again once she left. floods of tears is an under statement, but once i got through it once, now i can feel the peace again when i listen to it. i'm 41 now, with a few too many heartbreaks to ever want to try again, i'm really glad i have found a peace with being by myself again, this music saved me from complete darkness, and i feel so relieved to never have to fix my heart again and just enjoy a quiet life. thanks sigur ros !
Going to the 2024 concert in Detroit. My wife will be coming with me even though she hasn’t really immersed herself into Sigur Ros as much as I have. She agreed to come knowing that this music has helped me with my sobriety( 8 years). It’s the only vice that can make me feel euphoric. It’s truly empowering and I’m grateful that I’ve found this “medicine “.

i never got sigur ros until my brother took me to see them during the tour for Takk. i was not prepared. i cried because it was so beautiful and powerful. And they became the medicine for my soul i always turn to in dark times. she is going to be blown away for sure !
Today my teacher English put on some background music and told us that we had to be quiet enough for him to hear the music, I didn't think it was much at first, but then I realized it was Sigur Ros so I have found a new respect for this teacher.
I come here every time I listen to this album just to read the comments. It's so beautiful to see how Sigur Rós connect and inspire so many people around the world! Cheers from Brazil
Send this music into space to let others who find it know how beautiful the humans of Earth can be.
I honesly don't give a f**k what Sigur Ros fans or critics may or may not say about this album. It's so beautiful and calm-inducing it almost makes me cry
This album reminds me of all the greatness of life. Regards from China.
Personal thoughts from listening to this album : "From time to time, its okay to clean our windows to the soul. It helps approaching all our journeys with a clear vision."
The first time I heard a sigur ros song, I was sitting on the floor in my friend's new house in North carolina, the windows were open, the sun was setting and the dandelion and sycamore buds were flying through the air and it seemed very dream like. Then one day, about 15 years later, I was sitting in a stadium in San Francisco, and they were playing right in front of me. I honestly just couldn't speak. The music was so pure!

I’d venture to call Iceland🇮🇸an intersection of creation & destruction, both beginning & ending, thanks to its isolation & wild upheavals from within the earth, as well as soothing stillness of its meadows. He’s very lucky to have made it his place while on this sphere in space.
This album is like the mix of nostalgic impotence, pure sweetness, neverending love and inconsolable sadness that I feel when I miss seeing my mother's face, when I would give everything in the world to caress her only once again in my life.

If there was ever a validation for the bleak and brutal path that humanity has endured in surviving to this day, this is it. This moment, these sounds; they are arrival at the promised land of the soul.
This album contains some of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard. Each song takes me somewhere I've never been, but feel like I've been there my whole life.
I have fond memories listening to this beautiful album on the Great Barrier Reef, i would wake up at sunrise every morning, put on my headphones listening to sigur ros watching baby turtle hatchlings crawling out to the ocean. Never have I been more at peace with myself and my surroundings.
Deep love from India. Bow down to the best music project on the planet.

'Best band in the world' is pretty subjective, but I feel like Sigur Ros literally is the most talented, best band in existence.
I may not be part of THAT class with The Professor, but I'm saving this just so I could listen to it when I go outside😊
I won’t never forget the first time I’ve heard and saw them, here in Brazil. Year of 1999, a jazz festival. Until nowadays.. I can’t describe what happened on that moment. But it moved destiny to another way.. including to visit Iceland. Many thanks 🙏 Sigur Rós!

I saw Sigur Ros at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Amazing show. "Festival" was our wedding march song. Sigur Ros really helped me when my brother passed away at 33.
Was not having a good day today at all. I realized that someone I deeply cared for never really had any empathy at all, and is genuinely a selfish person, who never looks outside of themself. This album is helping me deal with the stew of emotions I have churning inside of me right now.
I saw them in Melbourne with my daughter. It was the most spiritual thing that happened to me all year, and to watch her watch them, in rapture, made me realise what a gift they are to all people

They're not words. They're just sounds. That's part of the beauty of it. They use phonetic pieces of English and Icelandic and it's all actually nonsense.. just the voice as another instrument. I think that's a huge part of the beauty, is that it's not the words that tell us the story, but it becomes whatever story it needs to be for us.
I listened to this album while driving through the Southern Alps in New Zealand. Such a perfectly majestic soundtrack to match the experience!

I first listened to this album in June 2015 at sunrise after doing an all nighter on my final project for Uni (which had to be handed in that morning). It was a completely beautiful way to start the day and felt otherworldly due to my lack of sleep.
This music speaks to a place in my soul I never knew existed until now.

Fellow composer here, although I haven't learned music theory of any kind (I just go with what I think sounds good). Initially I wanted to fit into a certain genre, but after many years I've come to find that the best music is that which has no genre. It just is. It just exists and lives and breathes like the artists who created it. It needs no acceptance, not appreciation, but it gains both for just being without interacting with anyone in any way. It just is and we love it for being so. It shows us existence as something else than routine. Something that feels alive. Something that feels human and not mechanical and I find that concept in Sigur Rós music, as well as in many others. If anything, it has taught me that music theory in general does not matter. Music doesn't need a theory to exist. It just is.
“Varúð” was the very first song from this band I ever heard, and it captivated me in such a way that I fell so deeply in love with them. Since that first listen, I have never looked back.
Going to see them live here in Melbourne Australia in a couple of weeks . Can’t wait . Love all their albums . Best band of this century. No idea what the songs are about but who cares , it’s like angels singing , and the music is just perfect 😍.

low key dreamy ambient pop gorgeousness, the most underrated album of my life.
Spell-binding and magical, I've lost count of how many times I've laid on my bed in the dark with this in 5.1 and immersed myself in that green sea...
It´s an amazing experience. I listen to Sigur Ros since 2003... When i bought this particular CD i listen to it an entire weekend. My daughter, who had 8 years old was also listening and at a certain time said... "Father, get it loud! I like it very much". A couple months later we saw them live in Lisbon... like i said... na amazing experience!!!
