forgot the name of the song i was looking for, it was love and some verses ♥

I found this record at my local library while I lived in Burlington ON as a teenager. Only picked it up because of the beautiful cover art, I went in totally deaf. This record takes me back to long bike rides through the mansion lined neighbourhoods that swallowed my parents modest bungalow. Being isolated and alone and riding my bike into Bronte instead of being in class. Getting caught in June thunderstorms and hiding out under gazebos. It brings back a lonely time when I was hungry for inspiration. The simplicity of this music taught me a lot.

My town in northern Virginia is being swallowed by mcmansions. They're tearing down old small houses, old school 1960s things, not the nicest to look at, but on big lots. Huge yards. Replacing them with mcmansions 20 feet from each other. Just massive, and cutting down all the trees. I feel your pain. They put like 6-8 mansions on what was ONE lot with just a little bungalow.

@Eraudica Audio - Discussion Bronte Village actually. My dad used to have a Massage Therapy clinic there and I think that's why I'd always venture back.

When my dad first passed in July of 2012, this album helped me deal with the pain and loss in a calming beautiful way, my kitty best friend would sit and listen too, and now he’s gone so in a way listening to this album is like audio memorials.

I listened to this album many times in my mid 20s working a delivery job I hated driving long hours. It was a dark and lonely time in my life, this incredible album was a small light in that darkness I was living. Revisiting this many years later, I can’t believe how good each individual song is.

sip of wine, some cheese, books, books and books underneath my christmas lights, the window opened and the gentle breeze coming in to kiss the edge of the pages, and this music. Life is still and perfect.

I can't remember exactly when i found this album.. it's been with me through many versions of myself and It always takes me to the same place. I used to wander around the woods by the river near where i grew up listening to this. I learned to play every song on it. The best part of it all is that everyone i showed this to didnt like it much (weirdos) so it was always my own little world.

Naked as We Came has always just been the warmest feeling song I've ever heard. It sounds like dust dancing in the sunlight, and I'm here for it in a big way.

I played side one constantly during the time 75% of my family died within 39 days of each other, it comforted where nothing else could, it resonated in my heart and mind, it saved my life. Our Endless Numbered Days indeed.

I’d never heard of Sam until he sat down on the floor next to me last night at the Atlanta airport, as we waited for our flight to RDU. I’m glad he sat there, for he makes beautiful music.

"Will you say to me, when I'm gone, 'Your face is faded, but lingers on. Cuz light strikes a deal with each coming night.'" I think this is one of the most beautiful lyrics that has ever been written. It's such a touching idea - someone who is gone remaining a presence in your life, and the idea of daylight giving way to night when the world seems to conspire to let you see your lost loved again in your dreams.

When he mentioned iron and wine , he introduced to a whole new era of music. Thank you Mr afterglow

This is the last new album i showed my godmother and i come back to this when im doing really bad. Im not sure what the connection is but i feel the closest i ever feel to her when i listen. It takes me back to that truck, that farm, that seat. I dont think i could tell you a damn thing about the interior of that truck but i remember our conversation, i remember her listening earnestly, i remember her telling me she liked it, and feeling like for the first time as a young adult i was going to be seen by someone who always saw me

First ever,although stage fright, played open mic night to Naked as we Came. Had a talented lady friend sing since I can only do that by my lonesome. One of my favorite albums. ❤

It hasn’t been that long lol. I guess I am, gratefully, getting old. This was my favorite band in high school, & I had the poster that came with the The Shepherd’s Dog pinned to my door. Can’t see the album cover without being transported back to my old room lol.

I never wanted a joint more than I do now. This takes me back to cold mornings dark coffee and many good times.

10 years old and still one of my favorite albums

This album crossed my path so many times and each time I chose to let it pass. Either I never actually took the time to listen or I've changed, because this is beautiful.

i could listen to this kind of music on loop for the next decade or so. thanks for this and the other full albums too ;) this is a treasure indeed.

This hits different when I'm looking to type comment cliches. Also listened to this when family died. God I hope I get some sweet like click validation dopamine. Long live Iron and Wine.

That's what music does, it gives you perspective and helps you go into unhealed or blocked memories or feelings and connect. There's nothing in life that can compare to it, it's programmed deep in the human experience. On the topic of standing in one's own way, I've been there and it sounds like you're figuring it out. Use that energy to build yourself up not tear yourself down- I'm always learning and relearning that :)

I would listen to this entire album to fall asleep as a deeply disturbed insomniac teenager.

I've had this album for years and always thought it was way shorter than this. It makes everything still, but everything pass so quickly.
