I have the GTR Ultra 2s. I just got them a little over a month ago and they were 200 dollars plus tax, with no sale of any kind going on. HR and TRS both carry them at that price. I chose the GTRs because of all of the tests that HR has done on them, plus their lifetime warranty is a HUGE selling point. As far as performance goes, the Ultra 2s are absolutely phenomenal. I have them in my 2020 Chevy Spark which came stock with H11 halogen projectors for the low beams. I went over to my mother's to test them against her OEM LED headlamps on her Jeep Cherokee and I was definitely impressed with the color and output of the GTR Ultra 2 bulbs. They were just as bright as her OEM's and the color temperature to my eyes was spot on. The GTR Ultra 2s have a color temperature of 6000K. I'm not sure on the precise color temperature of the OEMs, but they seemed to match seamlessly. Sorry for the novel, lol. Just wanted to give my opinion on the GTR bulbs and say that even though they are on the expensive side, that lifetime warranty makes it more than worth it.

yeah but they are several years out dated and they dont perform that well compared to modern LEDs. they were good years ago, but they should have released an ultra 3 by now to keep up. youre paying more for worse performance which is kind of wack. all for a warranty, which is usually tied into their insurance policy as a business, and not the actual product itself

@@PhaseSkater I agree about an ultra 3. As a matter of fact, I commented on their IG about where's the Ultra 3. They commented back and said we are doing the Ultra 2 right now, why don't you email us on this topic. Maybe an Ultra 3 in the works? I doubt it though. Morimoto dropped the ball on their 3.0 IMO.

@@dylangajdosik964 I like the look of the white LEDs. There’s not much of a blue hue to them in person. Pure white. It looks good on a black car and more modern and Luxury. I’ll be trying yellow headlight film in winter though

Wondering if it’s the same chip and build quality then why is DDM only 2 year vs life time with GTR?

your light has 2 year waranty and GTR lighting has life time waranty 🤪🤪🤪

That's negligible

I have tried out both, and I prefer the DDMs. The big advantage to DDM is that you can get them in 55w 4500k, which is a true white color. The light is much more usable, especially in inclimate weather. I also tried the new DDM 65w 6000k which is definitely superior to the GTRs Ultra 2 6000k. I also had one of my GTRs fail on me, but they replaced it free since you get a lifetime warranty. So far, I haven't had a DDM fail me yet.

We shall see, I have a Saber 55w ProX fail on me, exactly 1 month after my 2 year warranty. I had issues a few months where part of the chips would randomly flicker or turn off and come back on when driving. It just changed the brightness a bit, wasn't dangerous or anything. So my driver side low beam on them died 4 days ago. I emailed support even though I'm 1 month outside the 2 year warranty. Here is to hoping they will be solid and cover them anyway. I also bought the 50w V2 at the same time for my wife Expedition and so far I haven't seen the same issue for hers flickering and they have been good.

Thanks for the effort put into the videos. Good job. I have your DDM Tuning Saber ProX 55W Accu/V2 yellow fog light bulbs on a Mercedes ML W164 and they do a great job. I drive in fog where even birds walk and your bulbs allow me to drive quite fast. I believe they were the best at the time of the video. However, this year you've got extremely strong competition: the Auxbeam GX 25,000 lumens and the Hikari 2023 Future 30,000LM. I'm curious if you'll soon release a model that will be on par with them and if you'll post a review so we can compare.

The most important thing you didn’t cover was the heat? Temperature at the housing as well as the “ballast” , would love to know if it is going to melt my housing or naw

it has been tested by HR before. gtr lighting is still brighter but the morimoto bulbs have better beam pattern

I would try them but until they start making better products that worth spending that much money on because the bulbs they are sizing up to give you lifetime warranty so you only spend that money once so they have to go back to the drawing board

@jettangeles2707 I've used them both, and trust me, Hikari outshines them all on beam pattern and lumines. They also stay cooler that other led bulbs.

Are you lifetime warranty though like GTR???

DDM tuning LED’s are the same exact ones as P9 at 1/2 the cost

Screws in the LED driver is a weak point for moisture to get in. Try designing them without any screws. Both the LEDs appears to have a HUGE flaw, the dead zone on the bottom right side.

I got some ddm hid h11 and one went out in like 3 months 🤦🏻

Aftermarket ones that have no comparison to OE projectors in cars.

The warranty tells the whole story. If you're confident that your version is as good as the GTR's, why not offer a lifetime warranty?

Lifetime warranty with GTR Ultra 2, and I don't see anything about being able to adjust the beam pattern on the DDM

Why does the gtr come with a lifetime warranty and you guys have , i think, 3 years? If they're the same...

Not just warranty. The GTR lighting has high quality thermal paste transferring heat from the led chip and board to the rear heat sink. On top of that they also have a copper heat pipe in them transferring heat faster than nearly any other way currently used. Meaning the GTR lighting LED’s at least the Ultra 2 has one of the best if not the the best cooling solution found on an led bulb. It is expensive to have a heat pipe in each led bulb. That paired with the lifetime warranty, the durable materials used and it’s pretty obvious the GTR Lighting ultra 2 is meant to last. There is at least one video showing a tear down of one of the ultra 2 bulbs. She wasn’t very informative but you can gain a lot of insight seeing how things are engineered.

Any company can give a warranty on anything. They can even give a ten thousand year warranty for both you and all of your descendants. Thing is, just because a company offers a warranty, doesn't mean they will honor it when you actually need it. Its easy for a company to blame you for the product failure and weasel themselves out of having to help you. And in such cases, the only way to really "force" them into honoring the warranty is to engage in all sorts of legal proceedings which will cost you more money than the actual product itself. Don't buy based on warranty. Buy based on reviews and customer comments.

Gtr values Warranty well. As many people had tried

Mines only last about 7 month and they not really life time and they make it difficult to send back

GTRs are tempting but I prefer DDM because of 4500k. It rains in FL.

Get you some bright yellow led bulbs for fog lights, and make sure the fog lights are aimed correctly to meet your low beams. Trust me as a South Floridian and Virginian it's the best thing I've did for driving in heavy rain, and snow, besides great tires.

How far are the bulbs to the wall? 25 feet?

Wait a minute! One said not for headlight use in the USA.

Build quality is day and night. We don't even know what is inside, which capacitor, controller chip, and heat sink performance. No temperature measurements either. No lifetime warranty, no clear comparison in terms of long term performance either.

Wow… The GTR Ultra 2 looks slightly better, and wider pattern.

Current price $170. Um, nah son! I'll wait till you either drop to the same price as mentioned in vid or settle for something way cheaper.

@@compacheo603 absolutely the hikari are really good. They even have a budget name called acuma. You get the same quality lights half priced. Made by hikari. But they sell out pretty quickly.

I bought a pair of the DDM bulbs at the spot in Chula Vista, Ca. I used them in my low beams for my 2017 Colorado and one fan burned out in 3 months and the other in 5 months👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 No shade just honesty
