    I have the Katana LEDs and I'm particularly interested in how they test after 30 minutes because I have them installed as fog lights but they are poor for regular headlights (the heat dims then quite dramatically)

    @@MiguelRPD I run the Precision LED Kepler Series bulb (same as Katana but from different brand) for headlights in my '01 Honda Insight with an H4 socket. This particular bulb style produces the best cutoff line and overall output in reflectors I've seen amongst any LED bulbs. I also run the original SV-4 for fogs, lows, and highs in my mom's '10 Rav 4 LTD and absolutely love the heck out of them! Performance in any weather is great. That said, it's my own experience and other people may have it otherwise.

    Thanks for the awesome video! From my research, it looks like the ProX are good for low beam projector applications but not for high beams if your high beams are also your DRLs as they will not dim down enough and draw enough power for the DRLs in most cars. However it does look like the standard Saber Pro’s do dim down enough for most cars’ DRLs to function as well. Would you happen to know more about this Jason? I’m thinking ProX for low beams and Pro for high/drl’s if that’s the case and as long as it wouldn’t matter that the low beams are higher wattage than the high beams.

I bought them from, an Ebay Japannese seller that had excelent feedback, and they arrived in my country (Greece!) in 15 days. What's worth mentioning is the anbelievable overall quality, even from the package, and the superior/ more usable light output to my 6.000k 35w HID kit (Abarth Punto Evo). Thanks a lot once again

    The Pro 50w makes a good fog light but I found that the 55w version lacks a good hotspot in a halogen projector (Lexus es 350 2008) and thus it lacked good distance down the road,so I had to return them. 50w gets very warm but the 55w was VERY hot.

    What’s up friend, I’ve been trying to narrow down a set of leds for a while now and don’t feel any closer to choosing one. I’ve got a 2015 GMC Yukon with halogens and would like to start with the low beams (white). I don’t mind spending up to $100 or so but a budget set wouldn’t hurt my feelings. My main concern is reliability.. Thanks for all the videos, keep up the good work.

  • @InJasonsGarage

    @InJasonsGarage

    3 жыл бұрын

    When it comes to reliability, I always recommend the Diode Dynamics SL-1. Definitely not the brightest, but brighter than stock and are of OEM quality with great beam patterns in both projector and reflector applications. What makes some LED lights unreliable is that they are overdriven to be super bright, but that only lasts so long. They are a little out of your price range, but if you want the most reliable, they are it in my book.

    Hey Jason looking to see if an LED drop in is worth it for an FJ Cruiser. I didn't see any lux measurements for the Morimoto 2.0 Stroke 3 out a reflector. Any chance you could comment on that? Agreed, which is why I try to keep a steady temperature in my garage when I do my testing. Sometimes in the summer, I will postpone my testing until the evening when it is around 75-80 degrees inside, and in the winter I heat it up to around the same temperature.

    @@InJasonsGarage ohh that was years ago. I have since been through two Hid kits in my car and I want something much brighter, and instant on, and that will last years. Question do I have angle the light inside the projector like I would have to do in a reflector housing?

    @@orion9807 That's what I was thinking might have been the case. A few years ago, LED technology was pretty terrible but they are much better and since DDM sells them, I am sure they have no problems advocating them for projectors now. You should always aim your headlights after you change the bulbs and at least once a year.

    Not without a custom order, contact DDM. However, I have to ask...do you plan to use them in a reflector housing that has angled reflector ridges? If not, you don't need an adjustable collar.
