Naruto raves on about "Sasuke, Sasuke," but Shikamaru is his true homie. The show only shows so much of it in real time, but it always gets expanded on in flashbacks. It's really wholesome seeing their complete opposite dynamic, especially in their interaction with Gaara this episode.

56:02 - It's not that Shikamaru feels the pain, it's just that Naruto's punch made Gaara's body jolt and, as a result, the same happened to Shikamaru's body. If Naruto had, for example, killed Gaara with a kunai, Shikamaru would have been fine.

That reaction at the very beginning to Jiraiya saying "I'm a big one" was the PERFECT intro lmaooo I forgot about that scene!

Some things we learn far far later (but aren't spoilers): Naruto is incredibly skilled with Shadow Clones. Usually the clones can't go super far away without dissolving. They also pop from smaller amounts of damage. Lastly, Naruto can have a shitload of them. But of all people, he is one of the few people that can make shadowclones but also send them far away.

As DBZ fan you will probably dig this. Kishimotos favorite manga is Dragonball. Naruto originally started out as an homage to dragonball about a lonely fox kit who transforms into a little boy to go into a nearby town and make friends. The editors told him to spice it up and since Kishimoto liked kaiju movies and 1980s ninja movies he added those elements in But a bunch of early stuff is based on DBZ. Ino, Shikamaru and Choji and their entire family and backstory are derived from the Dragonball episode The Rampage of InoShikaCho about Goku first fighting and then befriending the giant mutant PigDeerButterfly named InoShikaCho. Ino, Shikamaru and Choji are the heirs to their respective clans. The Yamanaka, Nara and Akimachi clans. She works in the Yamanaka clan flower shop. The Nata clan kept the association with deer like traits however Kishimoto flipped the Yamanakas and Akimachi. The Yamanakas (Ino = Pig) were given flowers instead of the Akimachi (Cho = butterfly) who got the racenous eating thing. And for some reason to further emphasize the switch he made Ino obsessed with dieting the opposite of pig like behavior. But thats a writing trait of Kishimoto to satire something by making it the opposite like he did with Jiraiya and the pervy stuff ( in folklore Jiraiya is depicted more like Moses)

That Kabuto vs Kakashi fight was so short but I forgot how sick it was. The both of them were playing 4d chess against each other and the fight ended in like a minute. Shippuden’s fights start getting crazy since all the fights are involving Kage tier fighters but something short and simple like this was so nice to see. “You have a nice and tight, sexy little body.” Omg I forgot how weird Jiraiya was when we were introduced to him. Some of his lines aged terribly 😂.

yeah super quick, but so many moves in short succession, was really good. yeah that line was WILD. had to be written, voice acted, edited etc. and they all were like 'yeah thats fine' lmao

The animators were as far as I heard not that annoyed about the clones, but about the fact that Kishimoto likes to draw toes. Kishimoto likes feet that much that he made every character in his universe wear open toed shoes. There is a story that he went personally to the animation studio to say sorry to all the animators that have to draw the feet.

So, i got few comments regarding this part: 1) The word on Jiraiya's headband is "Oil", it's the symbol for Toad Mountain Jiraiya mentions when talking about being its Sage. 2) Sannin (not to be confused with "Sennin" meaning Sage or Hermit) translates to "Three Ninjas". You already heard all of their names, Orochimaru, Jiraiya and Tsunade (Tenten mentioned her in a flashback, saying she wanted to be like "legendary kunoichi (female ninja) Tsunade"), as @thtadthtshldntbe commented, their names (and character ideas, kinda) are based on the old Japanese story. 3) I want to comment that this introduction to Jiraiya is quite weird, especially in anime. He's pretty perverted guy, but yeah, those "three episodes in a row starting with Jiraiya creeping on girls" is just one scene in the manga. But what's more weird is his initial treatment of Naruto, i think Kishimoto wasn't yet sure what relationship to create between Jiraiya and Naruto, so in retrospect his actions in this arc feel quite off, but to people who watch it the first time it will probably feel like a natural growth. 4) Color of chakra is different in the anime when comparing to manga. Manga uses unique colors for characters (at least those who often show their chakra), so when Jiraiya asks Naruto what color is his normal chakra, in the manga he responds with "yellow". Similarly to his design which is opposite of Sasuke's in terms of colors, his chakra is also described as being the opposite of Sasuke's, being "bright and warm" as opposed to Sasuke's purple chakra that is described as "dark and cold". In anime, "manga colors" of chakra only show up when characters use specific techniques later down the line (though chakra that was swirling around Sasuke during his Cursed Mark's awakening, was basically the color of his chakra from manga). 5) I will again mention that word that is on Gaara's forehead is "Love". 6) And yes, that last episode was half-filler, in the manga, after Naruto talks to Hinata, it goes to arena straight away, with everyone there except Sasuke (and Dosu).

These videos doesn’t even feel like a regular reaction channel, actually get hyped to rewatch Naruto cuz of these vids, perfect amount of jokes, observations, and editing, hope u end up finishing the whole series

I love how much you pay attention to everything and comment on things instead of just watching it and saying how cool it is or something along those lines.

I always find it funny that to get out of training Naruto so he could train Sasuke, Kakashi told Naruto that Ebisu is a better teacher because he essentially has a degree in education even though Kakashi is a world-class Ninja 😂

If you are curious about the Sannin, Kishimoto drew them from Japanese Folklore. Yoy can read the old tale Jiraiya the Toad and the n read or better yet watch the old kabuki play The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant. If you search youtube there is a 1920s black and white movie version of it. Its pretty cool and for the 1920s has amazing special effects

Having just finished Shippuden it’s so odd to see everything so light hearted

Nice surprise before work. You definitely put out the best Naruto stuff. Also pretty Jiraya's headband stands for Oil. It represents his relationship with the toads, might not make sense now, but oil is an essential part of what's essential toad jutsu.

I honestly forgot they showed the fourth hokage this early on. That is actually some very good foreshadowing.

Seriously though, Kakashi abandoning Naruto to Ebisu is GENUINELY one of the few things the story failed at dealing with. It's played for laughs but imagine how much this must have hurt Naruto. To my knowledge it's total luck that Jirayah showed up. Kakashi literally just abandons Naruto for his favorite student.

I can't put into words how happy i was to see this dropped today. I'm loving your reactions to this series. You definitely hit a nail on the head in this more than once. I'm only sad that I have to wait on the next one. Keep up the spectacular work good Sir

Not only the animators, but the author Kishimoto has said in lots of interviews that he regrets the clone jutsu, it was such a pain to draw.

You mentioned that Gai should have thrown Gaara in prison for trying to kill Lee. I will remind you that Gaara is the son of the Sand Villages Kazekage. It would cause some major diplomatic crisis if they just grabbed him and threw him in a cell. We learn some more stuff about Gaara in Shippuden (no spoilers) which would only make it even more difficult for Gai to have just tossed him away. It’s the sort of act that would start a war, and at this point, the Leaf doesn’t know that the Sand village is planning on attacking yet.

By far the most fun I’ve had rewatching Naruto! I’ve watched a ton of reactions and I love how this is just a ton more content in 1 video! It probably takes a while to make, but please get more out! So addicting

I always laugh at the adorable Hinata and Naruto scene before the matches, but you are right they finally had a real conversation and it feels good to see their bond grow a little. Shikamaru is actually a real one so him starting to get focus as well is great. Sakura visiting Lee always warms my heart, especially if you keep in mind how their friendship started. :'D It shows how bonds between characters can grow or change dynamics under certain circumstances and I just like to see that. Also I don't know why but her reaction to finding out about Lee's fate as a Ninja stuck with me, the zoom on her face always hits me, a small but important/good scene. I also chuckled at your reaction to Ino with the rose, I agree with you but I still like Ino and she does care about other people then Sasuke as well (visiting Choji for example). Still funny how she just kept the flower. Can't wait to see your next reaction. :D

Great video like always. I've started getting a little excited when I see your Naruto reactions show up in mu notifications. For the bit where Orochimaru told Kabuto he was on Kakashis level, i've always seen that as a rather strong complaint. As you find out about Kakashis history later on but most of the Ninja world puts respect on his name.

It's also crazy how Naruto used max rizz on Hinata at the end of that scene. It's actually been proven that women are 761% more likely to like a guy who comments on them negatively and then turns the comments to positive comments about her. Makes her feel like she won something or achieved something worth having. The guy who's always giving out nice comments seems to easy like he's always saying nice things about anyone. They often even like the guy who just gives out negative comments more (So make sense why Sakura is still chasing Sasuke) If you don't understand female psychology then you may be like it makes no sense why Sakura keeps chasing Sasuke or even the NaruHina relationship. But if u observe real life, this is something that happens more often than not.

Yeah the break felt a bit long for this vid, so I didn't want to have to make ppl wait any longer. and after the prelims, this felt much more chill vibes, so i also didnt think premiere would be suited. But ppl liking it as much as the prelims, which i did not expect at all

under normal condition gara would have been thrown to jail when he attempted to kill lee , but garaa was representing sand village,he is the strongest and key figure of sand village , so if they arrested him then there would be war with the sand village, that's why guy allowed him to go
