In fact, My Heart With You was the inspiration for Run To You.

Beautiful song written by Avi and Kevin. There are a lot of live versions out there from concerts. They sing it without microphones . Great reaction !

Fun fact: In order to get the effect of the "snow" going up, they had to reverse the film during the chorus ( the only time the snow fell upwards), which meant they had to learn to lipsynch the chorus backwards. Apparently not an easy thing to do. It's a very moving and impressive song, perfectly suited to Avi's wonderful voice. Thanks for reacting to this. So many reactors miss it.

I am glad I did because I really enjoyed it. PTX have not disappointed me yet and just keep getting better and better. I couldnt imagine having to lipsync in reverse. Must be like speaking another language lol.

They have a few of these 5 part harmony songs and they usually sing one at each live show around a single mic or completely off mic. It’s amazing to hear, especially live when 10,000+ people are silently listening! My Heart with You and Silent night were both done this way recently! So good, love your reaction to these!

Thank you I am glad you love the reactions, to be honest I am loving discovering them for the first time. That must be incredible to witness then doing it live into just one mic. I really want to go and watch Silent Night. Is that a Christmas song? If so could do it right now lol.

@@Dazza010, I don't think you've reacted to their Silent Night yet. Their original was done without mikes or production in a cathedral in Germany while they were on their European tour. It's absolutely beautiful...no mikes no production, just great acoustics. They have a couple of times done it on stage and just recently for the Disney+ special. Maybe check out whatever you can find and react to it.

There's a really powerful video of them singing this at one of their concerts. There were homophobic protestors outside and you can hear them yelling in the background. PTX takes out their in ears, gathers around one small light, and drowns out the sound of the protestors with just their voices and a song of love.

Welcome back. I was getting a little worried that you weren’t coming back to Pentatonix. But you did!!!! Thank you. Love how you react to them. Never worry about Pentatonix not coming to the channel. They are incredible. I have a couple coming out over the Christmas period and then looking to cover more of their originals in the new year. Thank you, the animations were hit and miss with some but others loved them. They also helped get the video published so win win lol

I've heard that Kevin brought the first part concept to his bro Avi, who then used his own composition/arranging minor in college (he was an opera/classical voice major) to flesh out the rest of the song, working with longtime PTX producer/arranger (and co-founder with Avi of the A Cappella Academy) to arrange the rest. Does anyone who goes to PTX concerts these days know if they still perform this song?

I think even if you hadn't been corrected (hopefully nicely!) by the Pentaholics, 2 seconds into this beautiful 5-part harmony song you would have realized it wasn't the song you were expecting. The inspiration for this song was a song called My Heart To You, a cover song they did in 5-part harmony with no solo lines at all. The version on KZread is from their Christmas Under the Stars special on BYUtv, and it was recorded live (like all of the songs on that special). It's absolutely in my top 5 PTX songs all time!

They are just AMAZING Live!!!! Finally got to see them last year, just amazing. One of a kind group.

Really nice reaction. This is the first song I ever heard from PTX, and I've been obsessed since then. They are on a far different, higher level. Beyond words.

They are incredible Walt and every video I watch of them they amaze me even more. So glad they got recommended to me and always looking forward to the next one.

If you listen very carefully you will hear the person that is on camera just a little more pronounced. This part of Pentatonix's "Secret Sauce" they know how to get out of each others way and let the singer on camera shine just ever so slightly above the rest moving from person to person. This group has a commitment that If they cannot do it live they wont do it at all. (from a Pentaholic)

While Avi and Kevin wrote this, with arranging assistance by Ben Bram, the majority of the song was by Avi, using his college minor in composition and arranging to create the beautiful dissonances and lyrics. If you listen to many of his solo original songs, you can hear the similarities.

I have a few of his solo songs lined up for January. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do alone.

There's a lot of variety in their originals, but most are more upbeat in a variety of pop styles, and the more recent ones have more production, with vocal engineering and even a few synths. All the group members have co-written songs, and they almost always bring in other, more experienced, songwriters as co-writers. A couple of my favorites are "Happy Now" and "Sing". I also love "Water", but there is no official video. @@Dazza010 that occurred after the pulse nightclub shooting. 2 of the Pentatonix members are gay (Scott and Mitch) and it was very hurtful for them.
