Honey, you do you. Most true fans know what hearing those lyrics can do to someone. And I prefer this honest reaction to someone without a visible reaction at all. I watch reactions to validate my own amazement at this. This sense of shared experience is what watching any reaction is about.

PTX has the ability to get under your skin, somehow they make the lyrics more heard and felt. never ever change your reactions because some people don't like it, stay genuine to yourself!! ptx even has a song about changing yourself for the internet..never gonna cry again! you will never be able to please every one so stay true to yourself !! I loved your reaction and could see the real emotions this song had on you and thats what is it all about in music.

I think as a performance coach, you really understand what makes their music so special - they feel and believe every word they are singing. They know how to "sell" a song. This is one of my favorite songs by PTX. I have listened to it dozens of times and STILL get goosebumps and teary.

Isn't the ability to appreciate the care and work PTX puts into what they create part of why we are Pentaholics? I'm sorry if anyone gives you a hard time about your reaction - if they don't appreciate your work, they can watch something else ... you aren't weird, and I'm really sorry you've had a tough week. We actually do care about the reactors that share their responses with us because we end up sharing more of the human experience together than just a song or a video. Everyone feels things differently - thank heavens! Your viewers want the freedom to express their experiences in the way that is true and honest for them - you get to do the same, and should be accepted as you are. Thank you for all you do to get the videos done, past the copyright red tape, and put out free for our enjoyment. As Mitch has said, "F**k the haters"

One of the things that initially attracted me to Pentatonix is their commitment. They allow themselves to be vulnerable in their performances, and surrender to the feeling of the particular piece of music. It's authentic, too! People can tell acting from reality. You of all people understand that you have to access real feelings to portray real feelings. That's how most of us know you do not fake anything. The best acting to me isn't pretending, it's embracing.

In interviews PTX have said that this is an Avi and Kevin song. This song always hits me so don't feel bad for having such an emotional reaction. You talk about songs portraying life and I agree. I don't know if you have checked out Avi's solo music but most of his songs hit me the same way, they are reflections of life . If you are interested, his first solo song was Change on the Rise which is very powerful or the more gentle All is Well. Thanks for a great reaction, take care.

It's beautiful how passionate you are, and you should never have to apologize for it or hide it. This song, along with many others, touch me too. You can tell when an artist, whether a musician, artist, writer or sculptor were feeling or experiencing something while creating their piece. Because of that, it moves you. As it should. Thank you for the heartfelt reaction. I'm sorry you're going through a rough period. I truly hope things improve quickly.

Something you'll learn about TRUE Pentaholics is that we absolutely DO want your honest reaction, because it helps us remember our first time hearing these amazing songs, and the way they & PTX have helped all of us get thru innumerable amounts of situations, pain, grief! We DO want to hear about your life, whatever your willing & comfortable enough to share! I'm so sorry it's been a rough time for you recently, and I adored your reaction! I can't tell you how many songs I've sobbed thru (I could never do what you do cuz I'd rarely make it thru a full video reaction!). Music is a heartbeat that joins many people & yes, helps us feel seen & less alone. You're absolutely lovely, friend. Pentatonix to me personally has some of the most talented members that I've ever seen, heard, or experienced. The first performance that I experienced with them was their video performance of Hallelujah. I was in tears long before the end of the video. Of course their musical and vocal talent and ability as artists is to me next level. Having said that, what pulled at me even more while watching and listening to them was how their ability to express made me feel. Yes they made me feel! Their faces, their expressions, their delivery along with the music, touched my soul. In my opinion, that's what true musical/ vocal artists should do. I so enjoy and appreciate your PTX reactions because you show and express how their music and performance " makes you feel". God bless you, and keep doing what you do. The world needs more people like you!

God love you for being emotionally available! I am so sorry that some of us have made you feel that you have to defend your inclination to feel moved by art. I love reactors who can voice how music makes them feel and the thoughts it inspires, that’s what it’s supposed to do, in my book. And you do that so well, so thanks. Two other PTX originals have lyrics that make me think - Anchor and Never Gonna Cry Again. Also, I don’t know if anyone has mentioned Superfruit to you. It was a side project for Scott and Mitch for a couple of years that resulted in a fabulous album, Future Friends, and, with others in the LGBTQ+ community, a powerful response to the Pulse nightclub shooting with a cover of Katie Perry’s Rise. That one is emotional as well. (For sheer fun, you can’t beat their Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 and 2, complete with bloopers at the end.) Sorry to be so wordy. Peace from Ohio …

PTX originals are almost always co-written by one or more PTX members. This is from their second EP, PTX Vol. II. In those early days they did all the writing and arranging themselves (with Ben Bram). The official credit on the early albums is to the group as a whole. For later albums they started bringing in at least one other co-writer for each song, working with various experienced pop songwriters (as the SingOff judges advised them to do). And they started giving individual writing credit to the specific PTX members and other co-writers. They also started bringing in pop producers and vocal editors in addition to their usual crew, and those consultants often get co-writing credit.

Many of us are sensitive. And vulnerable. And fragile. Tragically, many of our cultures try to program us to believe that sensitivity, vulnerability and fragility are not valuable traits. We are rewarded for being "strong". Which is code for taking pain and stuffing it inside ourselves and moving on. As if we are machines rather than living, breathing humans. You and I (and many others) do NOT stuff it inside and move on like machines. We are NOT "weird". We are rare. WE have managed to make it through society's programming unscathed. WE did not bow to the pressures. WE had the STRENGTH to fight for our own personal humanity. WE made it. WE won! There is a wonderful Dr. Seuss quote. "Today you are you. That is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you." ❤

That's what we want to hear - your reactions! If people don't like the pausing they should just watch the original song! The 'swell' is an example of the famous Pentatonix 'wall of sound'. It's just beautiful.

All five are credited as songwriters along with the sixth member Ben Bram. I think it's time for you to react to something fun, not just these emotional videos. Please check out Superfruit's Defying Gravity and Frozen Medley, not forgetting the bloopers. Also you must react to Todrick Hall featuring PTX The Wizard of A-H-H-Hs.

I like how your face shows your feelings. I like your emotional reactions. And I like when you talk about the music. You are a great reactor. Maybe you should do a reaction to another original of them: SING is a good mood song. Sorry to hear about your though week, I hope the next week will be better for you ❤️

I believe God created music to speak to our souls and to move us in unique and personal ways. I have wondered since I was a child if people "felt" music as well as heard it like I always have. I appreciate your vulnerability and allowing us to share your full experience. Please don't change.

Your connection to music is one I've also felt, for as long as I can remember. There's music that's light and fun and somewhat superficial, and there's music that reaches into our souls and connects with us on a profound level. So many different kinds of music for so many different kinds of people. This is why music endures. You're doing a great job. If folks are looking for reactions that are less emotional, there's lots to choose from! I hope your week gets better. ❤️

About Your reaction: I do like reactors that are honest and show their emotions, that gets me more than people that put themself in the spotlight by screaming at you or doing big gestures. About the humming at the end: I really like PTX for doing this, because they don't end a song abruptly. They pull us slowly down from the sky back on solid ground. And also their humming sounds better than many people singing.

You do you. When I listen the first time I listen to a new song, i close my eyes and listen to the harmonies and flow. I listen to the words and emotions. Then I watch the video. I get it. I get how you react. Don’t change. At least I care about bad weeks for other. You did Say Something and I had the same gut reaction to the music and video. I had a crap week and your reactions hit me. I felt similar to you. You’re not alone.

This song brings back some of the overwhelming feelings we use to deal with regarding the families in our ICU. We dealt with some horrible brain injuries. Along with the family we became particularly attached to some of the patients and sweated our 12 hr 1 to 1 care with them with our heart and soul. Luckily we had a lot of good outcomes, but it was very, very tough sometimes.

Thank you, Leslie Holland, for your kind words and for subscribing! I'm glad to hear that you appreciate the genuine emotions in my reactions. I agree, the gentle virtuosity in this performance is truly captivating, and the way the song evokes a bittersweet feeling is quite special. I appreciate your empathy and understanding, and yes, my week did get better. I hope you have a wonderful week as well, filled with more beautiful music and heartfelt emotions!

Great reaction. Listen. This group puts in the work. They all read music and put hour after hour into the thought about what they are performing. KO played saxophone at Carnegie Hall his Sr. year of high school and invented celloboxing. The trio have sang together since high school which like any great sports team that plays together for years they know each other and don't even think about how to harmonize. They are one. Avi is just Avi and now Matt is just Matt and I mean both of those as a great compliment. Together it is nothing less than a miracle. Much love and keep on keepin on J.

This channel is one of your artistic avenues. You should never have to apologize for your reactions to anyone. ❤ They are heartfelt and honest. I’d 1000 times rather hear an emotional reaction to their music. They would too. I’ve seen enough interviews with them and know how much they value honest reactions to their music and their impact on fans. This is a gut wrenching and beautiful song. Their abilities to express emotions visually are stellar. They can be fun or they can rip your heart out with their performances. Excellent reaction. 👏

I remember well the first time I heard this song. I was sitting in a parking lot after grabbing some fast food for lunch. I remember crying hearing this song, and I couldn't articulate why I was crying. This same thing happened the next 5-10 times I heard it. To this day, I'm not sure specifically why this song made me feel this way. Yes, the harmonies are beautiful, arrangement is awesome, etc., but I was "stirred" just as you said. That's the magic of music.

Emotional response to music varies with personality type and other factors. If you do react emotionally to music you sometimes can get a physical effect when a certain phrase hits you. It's from your autonomic nervous system, related to the effect your prehistoric ancestors felt when, say, they heard a saber-toothed tiger growl nearby. “The man that hath no music in himself, Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils; The motions of his spirit are dull as night, And his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted. Mark the music.” ― Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice
