Yes, this is an original. And "original" sometimes means that they worked with outside songwriters, arranged it themselves, and were the first to record the song. But in this case, they actually wrote it themselves--mostly Avi and Kevin, I think. A couple of fun facts: 1. This is the first song on which Kevin sang all the way through, and he's actually singing the melody on the verses! (Mitch has the melody on the chorus.) 2. On the choruses, when the confetti is going up, they simply filmed it backwards. The music was played backwards, too, which means that PTX had to learn to lip-sync backwards! Fortunately, it was just a few words: "I'll run to you."

Since you seem to enjoy Avi's voice. Might I suggest Light in The Hallway. There is no official video, but there are audio only versions, as well as Avi singing it by himself. Enjoy.

There are numerous videos of them singing LITH live. They usually do it as an encore, and all gather around one mic. The audience gets really quiet and hold up lighted cellphones. It's one of my favorite PTX songs, and puts me to sleep many nights.

I agree about the live versions, but I like the audio versions for clarity in the harmony breakdowns. Either way it's wonderful. Nice to know even though it was written by Scott about his nephew, he wanted Avi to sing it.

I saw this song performed live by them before the base left and I was ugly crying like a little b**** and all I could think was that I wanted them to do it again… Like one of those weird life changing art moments/experience/things that you can’t understand unless you’ve felt it in person.

You really need to react to some of Avi’s solo work - Otherside or Quarter Past Four for his higher register especially, Full Moon for some incredible tone.

I hope you realize that this is the acapela group that breathed a new life into this form of music. Since they appeared on "The Sing Off" there has been a tremendous resurgents of a capella

If you're going away from the blonde (which does look good btw) then I'd vote purple rather than pink. Well, unless it's a very vibrant pink - mostly it just looks washed out whenever I see someone doing pink - purple seems to work better.
