Day in the Life - BCIT Student - Aircraft Maintenance Engineering - Vlog (05/17/2016)
Hey guys, just wanted to share how my everyday life as a student of BCIT is. This video will pretty much show you what to expect and what things we do on a daily basis.
This is the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Category M Program.
One of the struggles before I got accepted into the school, was not knowing what to expect in the everyday life as a student. This is common especially for internationally students and for newly landed immigrants.
Hope this video helps you out. If you have any questions, drop it down below. I also suggest visiting BCIT's website and dropping in for the info sessions as well.
ALSO! Please let me know if you like these kind of videos. If I have time to do them every week, I'd be more willing to do it. Comment down below!
As always, thanks for watching!

Great video ! By the way, is it difficult to find an aircraft maintenance job for international student in Canada ? I heard that we need to be intern for 18 months after graduated to be eligible for license exam, isn't it?
I'm Presently on a 2yrs Abridged AVIONICS course in NIGERIAN COLLEGE OF AVIATION TECHNOLOGY.. I will looooove to go to BCIT for my ratings and my CPL.. The GOAL is to be a Pilot-Engr.

Hi I am contemplating between studying Avionics or Electronics engineering, as my motivation for going back to school is basically to learn electronics and automation design. Would you confirm that the avionics stream exposes students to design of electronic circuits
Great video! Very informative.
Wow! You remind me of me in the past. I moved to Vancouver when i was 16, went back to PI after 3 yrs. to visit and i also went to BCIT and took AME. The BCIT campus was by the river at the south terminal and very close to the runway. Unfortunately when i graduated the job availability is very limited, this is back in 1992. I am a registered nurse now in California.... looking at your video gives me the creeps because it is like watching someone in my previous life. Oh by the way i even visited the Boeing factory in Everett when i was in school..... weird. Now lets see if you will become a nurse in the future.

Bro I got some questions for you ? When you learn each module do they mix more than one module per week or they mix it up ? Cuz where I'm at they mix more than 3 modules a week it's a little excessive to retain all the info and then jump to something else and then when exam time comes ... Your all messed up ? Thanks in advance !
awesome . really enjoyed it.
I appreciate this
I’m born in Auckland New Zealand, so hope she loves it
thanks a lot for this video! its been very helpful and helped calm my nerves a bit. I start the AME program in less than 2 weeks and have been going crazy trying to figure out what I should be most focused on study wise before classes start. all BCIT told me was to have my textbooks by first day of class and to show up at 8am >. I know I should expect a fair amount of math in the overall program but I was wondering how focussed they were going to be on it in level one? I'm super excited about the course overall but it takes me a little bit to catch on to the math concepts

Bro you became an airline pilot today proud of u bro😢👏
Nice! always liked aircrafts. How is the Job offers there in BC?
Do you still live with your parents and brother? Glad you are back vlogging!
Hey nice video!I just wanted to ask can a person with mild colourblindness do this ? As it is a straight washout for pilots i m just passionate about aviation so much but colourblindness became a hurdle so looking for this

How is the career outlook right out of school here for this trade in Vancouver ? I am looking into it but hear moving provinces will be needed to find employment.
So are you done now? Have you started working? I quite curious of the outcome. Have you heard of other colleges or institutions that do things differently?
Great vid. Three questions: 1.On course completion, how easy or hard is getting an apprenticeship as an international student? 2. What organizations accept apprentices? 3. is it possible for an international student to obtain a canadian AME?
I want to get into aviation, I’ve been applying for aircraft mechanic apprenticeships. But many of them require experience or a a&p license. Which I’m confused about, because it’s an entry level/apprentice beginner role, how would I already have experience or my a&p license? The process is annoying, I might just give up on applying at this point.
dude this is awesome. im doing ame @ centennial college at ontario. we do have beech 18, king air, 3 pipers (seminole, apache, aztec), bell 206, bell 47, cessna 182, two 150, 172. wish we have a bigger one.

Hi Paul I am wondering how does the break work for this program
Hey Poul nice video, i got a question, would it be too late to start flying at 20 years old?? because the city of New Plymouth in New Zealand doesn't have a flight school anymore.. so the only way to learn how to fly is by moving to a different city, all im saying is that is beginning at 20 years to old?

How are you doing now? I’m about halfway done your program. You find a career after where you working now? They don’t have levels anymore sadly. There’s so many students in the program like 36ppl per class, and I’m im class 393. There’s like 5 other class groups. So it’s all not in order. We taking electrical as level one and stuff. So gets crazy

I have some questions? 1. Is it possible to get a jo with 200 flight hours? (Maybe in BC) 2. If not then what else do you suggest me? because its really expensive. 3. After CPL i might wanna get CFI license. Where would you suggest? Please can anyone help me to answer these questions???
does color blindness affect being an aircraft mechanic?
Hlw brother can you tell me thats tje AME & AMT is same thing or not?
Sir how long to get the license? Is it all same on all colleges?
That's great
Hi, Paul Go! Your videos are very helpful and interesting! They are about how real life goes in aviation. Thank a lot! Please, tell me, what can an individual do for apllying this programm, if I am not a Canadian national, how many steps to take and how much does it cost? I have an extensive background in aviation, I am an active ATCO in Ukraine, have a masters degree in aviation. But i want to move further... could you give me some advice, please? Thanks for reading! Good luck to everybody!

Hey man! Love the video! Just a couple questions if you don’t mind answering them. Please and thank you. Did you ever go into industry as an AME? If so what was that experience like?what should the common trade school graduate of an M program expect?

Hey Poul! I'm a susbscriber of yours and I've always been amused by aviation. I am also from the Philippines and I came to Canada in 2011. I am now 33yo and I am planning to pursue my dream to become an AME or fly a plane. I am kinda hesitant to do it just because of the things that I've been hearing and was told that it would be too late for me because I am old, old in the sense that I would have to start all over again as I didn't have any background in engineering(I'm a BSCS grad). Would you be able to tell if it would still be worth it for me to pursue a career in aviation? watcha think? Thanks and more power to your channel!

+Karl Aber hi Karl! Thanks for the message! Tell you something, during my time in BCIT, i've had met students who are at least 35 years old. Actually, had a classmate who's already 40 years. Age doesn't really matter as long as you can prove yourself in the industry. As per flying, i have a friend at my flight school who's doing Ppl and wants to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. He already has a family and he said he's at least 20 years older than me :) just be yourself and with aviation, passion is very important
Hi kuya poul!!!
