I loveee Nagano so much! Always happy to go back :)
That cat was spicy. My favourite kind.. how they like disapprovingly meow at you like "why aren't you patting me, ok you're patting me now, but don't forget you need to pat me". haha!
Oh wow, that little cabin and the owner taking you mushroom picking was super sweet! I also love that there was a stand for cutting wood, never seen one of those before. That's nice and accessible for the uncoordinated folk like me haha.
b e a u t I f u l l ✨️ one of these days I hope to finally travel and go too Japan ~ thank you for all the beautiful stuff ! note; yeah...you have to spin those pizzas whilst' cooking, and drizzle some oil over them, when they're just vegetables and cheese/sauce 👍
Looks like a nice place to unwind and decompress for a few days... I'm a introvert this place is heaven on earth for someone like me. 😌
This whole video made me feel like I was watching a Ghibli movie - lovely 🥰

Fab travel video Sarah(& Daichi) RE Chillies; the seeds themselves aren't spicy, it's the whitish tissue that they're attached to, and any chilli oil/juice that may /may not be on the seed that is spiciest. But the seeds themselves are not spicy. I think that a lot of chefs and cookbook authors regurgitate the "exclude seeds because they're spicy" myth simply becuase they haven't tested/experimented. Fab pizza too. I'm envious of your hot tub etc. Thank you for sharing.
Well I was having a stressy and hot day in Sydney but this was a perfect way to chill.

Worth travelling to!
The cabin seems really nice! I do enjoy spending time in nature, but prefer doing so in moderate amounts, having a cabin with a proper bed and running water is, in my opinion, a far superior way of spending time surrounded by nature compared to sleeping in a tent or similar. 😀
I never visited Japan yet, but I love Mountains. I think a Nice little mountainy Vacation Home in this Area would be a dream. With a small adjacent Wood Workshop...one can dream lol
Nagano…possibly my favorite area of Japan, equal with the green tea fields around Mishima. Loved how your eyes lit up for Ra-yu. 🤣 The sauna is always a game changer for me… Clever that they provide a way to chop wood without an axe. Nice cross chop skills Great travel vlog 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Nagano is my favorite prefecture next to Hokkaido. it's known for mountains and I love nature there.
That view of the Alps was worth the trip alone. But the Curry Soup was a feast for the eyes.
This is the Japanese trip I want! I did the cities last time but next time I go, since it will be in autumn, I want to go to the country side and go camping! Thank you for showing the beauty of Japan and the nature! I'm so excited to get back! Much love from Arizona 💜💜
The wood chopping is easier if you use a heavy log instead of a hammer!!! Wider surface to contact the chunk you need to chop! LOL!!! I love this video SO Much!!! Amazing!!!!!
Looking forward to this. You’re smashing it lately!

That view of the mountain range was stunning. Would definitely love to stay somewhere like that with the wood fire stove and no distractions. Pizza would be on the menu often.

Such a beautiful place. Thanks so much for showing us around. Mi chan wa kawaii 🙂
great storytelling and editing
Another awesome video - love that you were able to get a veggie curry - rare in Japan but seeing a little more veggie options than in the past - lots of fun to watch!
How beautiful! Would love to visit and try all the wonderful food.
This is really great!! I was in Japan for the first time in November 2023, and it was the best 18 days of my life. I want to chase that feeling, I want to learn Japanese and travel to more remote places, like you do. May I ask, what's your back story with Japan? Do you live there, or do you only travel there? Did you learn Japanese before starting to explore Japan properly? I want to go back in a few years, and I wonder how much Japanese I should learn before my second run. Anyways, great to watch and experience these trips with you on video. All the best!! 😊
Thanks a lot Sarah, I enjoyed your video!😊😊😊😊😊

Was waiting for Tom Nook, and Isabelle to come over and congratulate you on your cooking. haha Looks like an awesome place - so much fun!

This is so relaxing 😎
If you take the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station, it will take less than 2 hours to get to Nagano Prefecture. Nagano hosted the 1998 Winter Olympics. Due to its mountainous geographical characteristics, it is unsuitable for rice cultivation, but is famous for growing soba noodles and fruit trees. Japanese soba, wine, sake, and dairy products are very delicious. Rich nature, historic townscape.
I was beginning to think you were trying to chop wood solely with a hammer at first 😅 The countryside is beautiful though.
Thanks!

Is the cabin name Finnish inspired because ”Mökki” literally means cabin/cottage in Finnish?

@@seerasanI’m Australian but my parents came here from Finland and as soon as I saw the word, I stopped the video to come here to say the same. I would definitely say they chose the Finnish word for cottage because many Japanese love Marimekko (Finnish fabric company), Moomin (Finnish cartoon character) and Iittala cups with Moomin on them, and all things Finnish! There are many Japanese here in Sydney that shop in the Marimekko store. I’ll continue to watch the rest of your video now. 🥰

Great video! Nagano in autumn looks wonderful! I hope Daichi got to enjoy the pizza with you after working so hard on the firewood! Have you been to Koya-san? It's about an hour train ride south of Osaka. Would love it if you did some research on it and made a video about it. It's home to many buddhist monks, and very rustic and relaxing. There's a cemetery there that has many famous people and goes back over a thousand years! I went there on several weekend trips while living in the Kansai area.

I hear it's easy to tell if Japanese bears are in the vicinity due to their droppings. They are easy to distinguish from other animal droppings because they tend to contain a lot of bells... 🤪

was SO GOOD!
the crazy thing is according to official data Tokyo is 9.2% cheaper than Dublin Ireland is insanely expensive
Japan's original country name "NIPPON” means "the land under the sun" , but another name is "YAMATO(WA)” , meaning “Peacefully Harmony among People and Nature”. So Japan's name means “the Land under the Sun” and” the Land of "Great Harmony of People and Nature,” The history of Japan is very old, about 2,000 years since the Emperor's reign, but humans began to live in villages and communities in this island nation about 14,000 years ago, during “the JOMON pottery” culture. (That's 30,000 years ago, if you count the Neolithic period.) Surrounded on all sides by the sea and geographically isolated from the Eurasian continent in the Pacific Ocean, this island nation has a warm and humid climate and is blessed with abundant underground clear water resources, diverse vegetation, and fishery resources. For this reason, people have lived here for tens of thousands of years, enjoying nature and living in peace with it. However, while the natural environment of this island nation is rich, it is also harsh, with both light and dark sides. Since ancient times, the people of this land have lived in peace by respecting human harmony and working together as a group, and have shared and enjoyed the blessings of nature by overcoming many harsh and severe natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and typhoons by sharing wisdom and working together as a group. This is because this island nation has a harsh natural environment that cannot be overcome by the power of one individual. The ancient Japanese name of the country, "YAMATO (DAI-WA)" or "WA" (Great Harmony of People and Nature)、 represents the desire and reality of people trying to survive in the unique natural environment of an island nation, which is different from the dry and stable land of the Eurasian continent. And it is in this ancient Japanese country name that the essence of Japanese culture and the source and secret of the emergence of a unique Japanese culture different from the cultures of other Asian countries on the continent are hidden.
Was great running into you at the Chureito Pagoda! Your videos helped with my trip planning :) keep up the great work! -Kayla
