Day 8: Swinging door

Today’s video looks at making a more unusual Agility obstacle, the swinging door. The rats have to push through it to get past it. This uses offcuts of card, a bamboo skewer and straw and some tape.

Hello! Been watching your videos for some time now. I was wondering where I could purchase one of those show tubs for my introduction of new rats? The plastic tub with a wire mesh on top

They may be a bit late, I had an interruption to the plan with a still born litter then sadly going back to work has thrown me a bit (and some other stuff going on). I do plan on finishing it though and do have a list of what to do for the remaining days. Sorry about the delay on this one

@@IsamuRatCare I am so sorry to hear of the still born litter ;( . Going back to work is never much fun generally speaking, and no need to apologise as we all have a life to get on with and can be busy with sometimes unexpected things beyond our control can and do happen, I was just curious :) I am still enjoying watching the older videos and even re watching some as well. Be safe :)

What do you think about using materials that would be safe for consumption? Having little obstacles put in their cage? I can't think of materials I could use? Weaving dust free hay?

To be fair card is perfectly fine for consumption, though they don’t tend to eat it, just destroy it

I use duck tape in the cage four various things, they like to chew it but don’t tend to ingest it, it’s pretty safe to use though I wouldn’t go nuts with it
