That was harder for Gabriel than he let on. It was his best friend and he knows that psykers live under enormous pressure. But it was his duty and he couldn’t show any leniency because the warp is treacherous and was whispering into the minds of every one of his space marines.

The music paints this as the final act of a tragedy. A tragedy between two brothers, ending in only death. It perfectly gives off the intended vibe, and I render this cutscene worthy of cataloging in the Librarium.

I always thought it was very interesting that they actually had a character model of Isador with defaced chapter livery. Considering Relic's fondness for re-using assets, the fact that it wasn't repeatedly re-used is surprising.

And thus, Gabriel Angelos became the last man alive from Cyrene, the last man to know it's beauty, it's power, it's strength, its secrets.... terrible secrets.... and should the day come that he die, so to will this knowledge. After all, he does as any Blood Raven would by the very motto of their chapter: "Knowledge is power, guard it well."

This game introduced me to 40K. I was 18 when i first played it (almost 28 now). I've never been into RTS Campaigns, but by The Emperor the voice acting and the envirorments, combined to how different it feels to have factions mixed between fantasy and sci-fi simply made me fall in love with the IP. Till this day, 40K is and will always be my favourite sci-fi universe, and DoW 1 my favourite RTS campaign of all time.

You are appreciating really the judgement of somebody in addition to the pieces as they stand individually. Ultimately you can just keep distilling the parts and find all you're getting a boner on is Gabrielangelos' hot voice acting :P That's a really crisp and sexy voice I feel. Argel Tal The meeting with the Cabal and the vision for the Primarchs was very disappointing. I was hope that the novel would go into detail with the meeting unlike Lexicanum, but it didn't at all. I plan on getting the Night Lords works at some point. Those are stories that I constantly saw praise for. Yes, Chaos consume all! Although, I am quite interested in the Deathwatch novels.

I love this scene. It's easily the greatest of all the DoW scenes. Whenever I hear Isador's little speech at the beginning, I'm Rau La Creuset from Gundam Seed (same VA) and the speech he gave during his final battle. A truly great VA.

I still feel like a brutal inquisition (no pun intended) would have been better than just wasting the surface of an entire planet with bio-bombs/lasers. I mean, in the Spanish Inquisition a LOT of people died, but it was still successful and the people more-or-less recovered. Then again, we are talking about a whole planet here, but the Imperium has a lot of men at its disposal.

Gabriel father didn't have any corruption but in theory i believe Gabriel father is being seduce by Ethereal Tau. I mean seriously.... whoever he say want to free trade with Xeno then that could be Tau Empire.... Not even Chaos or Eldar....

Pretty deep scene when it comes to the old Chaos VS Imperium deal. Both do have their points. Isador's thoughts on the Exterminatus cannot just be hand waved away. But Gabriel's determination almost makes one think that the Imperium might be right after all. But I guess the point of 40k is that no one is truly right or wrong.

The parts of cutscenes that involve weapons being used, tend to assume that the basic weapon is what's still there. Gabriel's wielding a plasma pistol, most likely, because the person playing the game upgraded his weapon during the mission. That carried over into the cutscene, but not in the controlled fighting.

@Techcom13 The bolt pistol is Gabriel's default ranged weapon, but during the gameplay it can be upgraded to a Plasma Pistol. The animation used to shoot Isador however doesn't take the upgrade into account, and simply uses the Bolt Pistol, causing the little graphical oops of "Gabriel's Magical Morphing Bolt-Plasma Pistol". A bit of an oversight on the animator's part most likely.
