How many times did we hear, "Palmer surrounded, but he gets away!" I don't think he was ever the fastest player on the team, but I never saw a player that was more elusive and had the vision he had. Amazing athlete. You know the defensive lineman really hated it when they saw Palmer line up at QB. so versatile. I guess he could probably be the kicker, if they needed him to be. Imagine Palmer, going back to punt, then running (or passing) on the fake!

He was the most elusive player I've ever witnessed. You'd see like 5-6 tacklers around him in position and closing in, and suddenly he would emerge out of nowhere. A true magician on the gridiron!!!

Amazing athlete! One of the best EVER!
Man's need a statue or some kind of monument in Tuscaloosa...#1 all time for Alabama in my opinion.. He did it all and no debating about this conversation! Thanks for the updated video bro..
Enjoyed watching him on Saturdays!! A Bad man on that Field!! The DEUCE!! BAMA!!
Great video! David Palmer would dominate today. Be fun to watch him play in todays offenses..
I stayed across the street from in Pratt city !!! He the only reason y I rooted bama in the 92 season
One of favorite Bama players! Dude was so talented!
I believe we would have won another National Championship if he'd been our full time QB.
Yeah that guy was a baller.🎉
Congratulations, May God Keep on Blessing you. Roll Tide
Remember them days!!
I was there when he played my brother graduated from Alabama! He passed in 2021

Rest in peace to your brother 🙏
How many times did we hear, "Palmer surrounded, but he gets away!" I don't think he was ever the fastest player on the team, but I never saw a player that was more elusive and had the vision he had. Amazing athlete. You know the defensive lineman really hated it when they saw Palmer line up at QB. so versatile. I guess he could probably be the kicker, if they needed him to be. Imagine Palmer, going back to punt, then running (or passing) on the fake!
In '92 I was at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, AR for the The Razorbacks first ever game againt The Tide as member of the SEC. There were 55,000 in attedance including President Bill Clinton! That night my brother and I got several 'Bama autographs including David Palmer's, Curtis Brown, Jay Barker, Antonio Langham, coach Gene Stallings and others! It was an unkind welcome to the Conference as 'Bama dominated 38 to 11 en route to the first ever SEC championship(in a two division SEC), and the National Championship beating of the cocky Miami Hurricanes!! Roll Tide!!

Mr. DO-IT-ALL 💪🏾
I’m hoping Ryan Williams wears that number two, he reminds me a lot of him. His speed elusiveness is going to be special as well.
This dude is a Birmingham legend. Grew up a Auburn fan but I always appreciated this man's talent.
My all time favorite
One of my favorite College Football Players of all time this was before Reggie Bush Go Dawgs!!!!!!!
Great to see these highlights
An incredible player...a nightmare to an opposing team. A Bama legend.
BAMA LEGEND!!!!!!!! 🔥✅️💯
Gosh I am getting old. I was at most of those games. Thanks for this video. I forgot how electric the deuce could get on those wonderful Saturdays back in the day. My how the game and times have changed. ✌️
Wow dude was very good I forgot about him
That Bama team was serious Sherman Williams was the running back !!!!
I was 7 years old screaming, "DEEEEEEUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCEEEEEE!"
I remember watching this guty when ñi was in Jr high .
Any call by Keith Jackson is worth listening to... Palmer was something special to be sure!
What a great player he was!
Greatest all around player of all time and yes better than Reggie Bush. I remember him as a kid he could do it all.
I WENT TO GRAMBLING WITH SUM OF HIS HOME BOYS AND THEY SAID THAT DP aka POP… ONCE HE GETS THA BALL IN HIS HANDS… HE BOUT TO TAKE IT TO THA HOUSE👊🏿💯🙏🏿🏈

@Pbull75 he’s a legend too!!
I remember a story he told, when asked about being so elusive. He said they played football ,when he was young, on a field full of rocks. He couldn't stand getting tackled because it hurt so bad, so he just tried to never get tackled! 😂😂
He was the SLASH of bama
He probably would have the records that would never be broken if he were playing in today’s game!
OK let’s get one thing straight. David Palmer is first team Alabama hands-down.
The Deuce is Loose
David palmer was everything nothing he couldn't do ROLL TIDE
How did Williams throw that ball 55 yards while getting hit at the 30 and Palmer catching it at the 15 , 6:51 on this video amazing.
Palmer was the truth
He's won the best and ever didnot just because he was the man
Palmer had more moves than an indecisive squirrel in the middle of the road.
Would’ve probably played quarterback in this day and age.
Dabo is 88 at the 2:02 mark for those liking a little history.

May have missed it but didn't see the play where he was playing QB at Ole Miss, dropped back to pass, surrounded by 4 defenders, then spun around backwards and got a first down. Palmer said his biggest regret was not coming back for his senior season. He believes he would have won the Heisman and Alabama would have won the NC (or at least a share of it b/c Nebraska was pretty good that year). He's 100% right.

The Deuce was so damn fast and slippery I couldn't believe it when I saw him play in person against Tennessee in 1992. Definitely one of the all time best quick cut speedsters, and great hands too. Probably the top all purpose player in Bama history. They really should have retired his number. Roll Tide!
When the deuce was loose the opposition was nervous
This will be Ryan Williams !!
