David Lynch - Meditation, Creativity, Peace; Documentary of a 16 Country Tour [OFFICIAL]

Where does David Lynch get all those ideas? Why is he so prolific over so many years-with iconic works of film, photography, music, and painting? And what’s the deal with meditation?
Ten years ago, a team of filmmakers followed David Lynch on a sixteen-country tour and documented a series of lectures and intimate interviews on Lynch's creative process and his relationship to Transcendental Meditation. The resulting footage has been compiled into a documentary entitled Meditation, Creativity, Peace.
About The David Lynch Foundation:
Since its launch almost ten years ago, the David Lynch Foundation - founded by the iconic filmmaker David Lynch - has already provided scholarships to teach Transcendental Meditation to more than 300,000 at-risk youth in underserved schools, veterans with post-traumatic stress (PTS), women who are survivors of domestic violence, and homeless and incarcerated individuals. DLF Live’s mission is to create incredible, one-night-only experiences with some of the most lauded creatives of our time, introducing music lovers around the world to the healing properties of meditation, and demonstrating how all populations can benefit from this timeless practice.

Judgement is the Yin to empathies Yang, they are both equally important in an individual imo. David Lynch is pure empathy, understanding, non judgmental, creative.... but is he balanced, or is he just idealistic? His perception of reality is important, it's always present, but because of the dualistic reality of the self, it only represents one perception. I still appreciate his perception, it's a cornerstone of who we are.

Kudos to that brave Scotsman who brought up the fact of Dave's trip to Israel and how would transcendental meditation help the Palestinians on the other side of that whole mess. Kudos to David Lynch for lifting up the idea of ALL humans being able to benefit from transcendental meditation. Now this has shaken loose some brain cells for me in considering how one might begin to organize groups of people in such parts of the world as Palestine, Syria and elsewhere. Just think of what tremendous social change could occur with something like this. World peace might just eventually be possible, after all.

A few days ago I mentioned David Lynch in conversation. I hadn’t said his name or thought about his movies in quite some time. That same day, I searched for Buddhism in prison and I came upon this channel. It’s hard to draw any sort of conclusion about this phenomenon. The more I watch for it, the more it seems to happen. Synchronicities and manifestations. I’m glad to see such a great mind takes meditative and spiritual practices so seriously as it’s still something I’m skeptical about, but slowly accepting.

I'm in no way in a position to give 'advice', but - personally - I think the key here is the notion of 'driven'. Maybe work on a personal experiment where you slowly dissipate the 'drive' part, without oposing the feelings in themselves. Let the feelings be, just step back and watch them unfold. Thoughts and feelings are streaming down like a river over us and it doesn't mean that all of them truly belong to us or that we are them. Feel the way you feel, but don't let those negative or non-constructive aspects 'dictate' your actions. I'm sure it's easier said than done, but I'm thinking that since you are aware of those feelings, what they are, what you feel and that they 'drive' you (so you aknowledge that they make you act in certain ways that you otherwise, without said feelings, wouldn't act, right?), you are already in the position of trying this out. And since you aknowledge those feels and the actions and maybe attitudes they give birth to, it means it bothers you enough, and that you know there is another way, to be, to act... and to feel. But until then, one must work on creating a mental framework, a mindset that they can return to - in *spite* of their (negative) feelings. I mean, you probably already do that, what do I know. So the question (for me) would be: if you were to be driven by more 'positive' feelings, how would you act? Also, of course, there's the issue of seeking out specialised help; the mind and brain have professionals dedicated to it just like there are to any other body part, organ or function. We can't know everything. And when something intereferes with a constructive, beneficial flow in your life, maybe it's time to make a visit. :) Just my two cents, I figured it's neutral and/or harmless enough

Back in May of '17, I had a free coupon to see any movie at a cinema here in Malmö, Sweden. At first I wanted to see an Indian movie, but they were only showing it in their bistro, and that cost extra. So I settled on "David Lynch: The Art Life". It not only inspire me to create more, but it also inspired me to google David. That lead me to this documentary, which lead me to want to learn TM. In August that same year I found TM teachers and after attending a lecture I signed up instantly. After a lifetime of depression and anxiety, and years of trying different methods of therapy, I felt that this could be right. And it was. During the first week many of my traumas started to get treated. Now 4 months into it, I can feel love and stop feeling distant to everything and everyone. TM was the best help that I ever got.

I have to tell you, something that shocked me after Mahesh spent hundreds of millions of years collecting donations for these World Peace Groups. To be honest, however, this answer was somehow in line with previous answers. When I asked him spiritual questions, he never answered more than offered in the seven steps. Or he started one of his hour-long discussions about Veda and human physiology. Finally, I began to understand that Mahesh did not really understand the spiritual process and that if I really wanted to be enlightened, I would better take responsibility for the process and choose people who had successfully enlightened others and who know what's going on is. So I started reading and researching on the subject (which Maharishi told us to do, or we could be confused otherwise) and I talked to a lot of people and here's what I learned to be the most important: 1. Guru Dev has never given Mahesh spiritual instruction and never taught him to teach others. Rather, he told Mahesh he would never have anything to do with anything but material success.

I find it very interesting (and kind of puzzling) how Lynch greatly emphasises themes of suffering and the dark side of the human experience in his work, while actually having such a very positive outlook and mindset. It surprises me why somebody with such an attitude would produce such dark and disturbing content! On the other hand, even though it's often dark and "ugly", it's not only that, it's always balanced out somehow through elements of beauty and wonder (about this very suffering?) which give it the edge that makes it so special. That's the genius of his work imo; how continually the light within the dark is revealed and vice versa. Bringing out beauty and wonder, a sense of lightness and humour in even the darkest places. Still I find it somehow contradicts or renders questionable what he said about suffering and negativity completely lifting in that meditative state; if all that can, as he claims, be completely transcended, then why is it still being thematised and emphasised so much in his own work, as if to illustrate that it's completely inevitable? Or is it perhaps a pointing out that to transcend suffering, one has to also transcend the realms of perception we usually dwell in? I get that he doesn't purposely and consciously picks out themes, but I still wonder how and why he ends up with them... I also get that he doesn't like being analysed, but you can't really help it... Damn you, Lynch.

Had a very 'Lynchian' experience with this - as I had fallen asleep whilst watching another video and KZread's autoplay feature started to play this whilst I was sleeping. The result was I was dreaming I was actually there with David and he was having a conversation with me personally about transcendental meditation and the field of unity, and I was trying to tell him about 'zero-point energy' out of which everything manifests...... The surreal bit was that we were both taking tea with Prince Charles - although since he is also apparently interested in meditation perhaps that isn't quite as surreal as it might seem...... Perhaps this was part of the unofficial tour in some parallel dimension!

If you can join with the elites that is. For how much would you sell your soul? And i'm not talking about the biblical type of soul or something, as our God was made up by the Zionist elites.

so true about suffering and depression. While "fear of death" may be an inspiration to some, or so they claim, it can be a total collapsive deal-breaker for some, a gaping hole of a problem that completely immobilizes or collapses a person to "will" anything or want to proceed anymore at all.
