Country music nowadays talks about hot chicks, drinking, and partying. Like every other type of music, a lot of the generic stuff is just appealing to the most base desires of people. Not that it's totally like that, there are still some people like Zac Brown Band or Brad Paisley who are much more like more classical country music, but that seems fewer and further between nowadays.

Every photo I ever saw of real cowboys had them mostly wearing huge floppy hats pushed up in front from riding in the wind all the time, or they wore one like William S. Hart, who was a real working Texas cowboy before gettin into the movies in around 1911 ! These modern style hats were born in some eastern dudes mind I think!

I love the classics of country so its not a matter of not listening to real country but i absolutely hate this song lol

This song could be considered the definition of nastalgia

It’s been about 5 years since I heard this on the radio, almost brings a tear to my eye. They still make country music, you just can’t hear it on the radio

This is always going to be one of the greatest classic songs. I've been listening to this since I was 8 years old, and I'm 33 now.

Not only is it a great song, but it also shares a great life lesson with the chorus line.

I don't like most country western music, but I love this song! Great lyrics, great guitar and great rhythm, and a great looking singer - whew!

I love this song! Takes me back to when I was 11 and 12 years old back in 1999/2000. I remember riding in the car with my mom, I used to think he said ``There might be a little dust on the bottom.'' Like he had dust on his pants. And I could picture him patting off dust from his jeans. Good times!

David Lee Murphy was and is one of the best singer/songwriters in history. He doesn't get the recognition he deserves which highly pisses me off. The talent in Nashville is now so limited and predictable that I would almost BEG DLM to return to making music again
