I'm 56 and just found out about 30 minutes ago about his passing from stomach cancer , this hit close to home for my sister in law is battling stomach cancer right now and has been for the last few months , she is 56 years old. 4 years older than Toby
In 2005, I made a life change. I was moving from Los Angeles to Nashville. My former staff gave me a small basket of gifts. One of the gifts was a CD of Toby Keith's Greatest Hits. For some comfort, I played that CD nonstop during my new journey. Twenty years ago, I still cherish that CD as it got me through a challenging time. Thanks Toby!

19 years ago, my journey as an exchange student started, my English was basic, your music was one of the first I started listening to thanks to those white dudes from MN & WI who were my roommates, I was the only hispanic of the group at a country bar with my friends. I made my way up to get a good job, became a Permanent Resident and got a family. Now as a US citizen I thank you Toby, for your music and for teaching me that passion for loving this country. What do you mean by a patriot?
@jeffsmith3941
Ай бұрын
@@Egalitarian917 Back in the day Bob Hope, George Burns and several other stars would travel overseas during war times to entertain troops and boost the morale of those serving our country. Many of these visits were in the middle of hell where they themselves could experience death or injury. Toby Keith picked up the torch and carried on this tradition for lack of a better word. To me this makes him a patriot, he did something to boost the morale of others. Also when the tornadoes devastated his home town he bought water, first aide supplies etc to boost the recovery. During the OKC bombing when he had just made it big, he did the same thing, taking water, first aid supplies and assisting in the recovery of victims.

@@Egalitarian917 I wish we as Americans had better choices politically. I wish that more people read and understood the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. I wish that more of our tax dollars were used for good things as opposed to things that weren’t that great in my opinion. Not to sound cliche but, if for one year we spent the money we spend on war or aiding someone else’s war on curing diseases, homelessness, and advancing human kind just think what we could achieve. That’s this Middle American’s thoughts anyway. Thanks for your input. Respect to you.
Heard the news today of your departure, and I know that you were on the train to the mansion in heaven with our lord Jesus christ. I know this because you shared your music with society, and used the talent God gave you with the charity you did for society as well. I pray for your loved ones, that God make them strong through your departure, and heal their grief. Most of all, that they know, you just moved on to a bigger stage in heaven, and are alive and well spiritually now. I give God all the glory for the joy you gave the public with your presence and music, for you were a good role model of what a true star should be. GOOD SPEED TOBY! Cancer is like an earthquake,it hits people suddenly without warning, leaves you shattered, and struggling to survive. Toby's death and sickness shocked me too, just like my oldest sister, for the news hits you like a run away train, and like quicksand,it swallow your barrels of tears. This is why it's important for anyone to get checked, and to support cancer research,to better create technology or meds, ect, and decline the chances of losing anyone we love.
Here after the news 😢, I remember as a 16 year old black kid in the hood not liking country music until I heard this song and fell in love with it 😅. There was a time, back in his prime, when he could really lay it down. RIP.
It breaks the heart knowing he is going thru his battle with cancer. May this be your anthem.

Rest in Peace Toby. You might be gone but your music will live on.
Guys, the fact my grandpa who LOVES this song and sang it all my childhood outlived the singer himself…. Crazy… my grandpas a legend and so is Toby Keith… RIP LEGEND. ❤
Legend! There will never be another like you, but you will forever inspire the next generation of real men. Thank you
Had forgotten how hilarious this video is. RIP Toby. BTW, the female paramedic at the end is hotter than Bobbie Joe, IMO. LOL.
I love how Dave is just getting his ass beat in the background and Toby Keith is just singing to the camera and giving absolutely no fucks.

This is one of my favorite songs by Sir Toby Keith. He's definitely one of a kind. He's one of the Greatest lcon's worldwide and definitely deserves it.😊
I am a fierce believer in God, but this here has really shaken me up.

In The Memory Of The Country Singer Toby Keith 1961 - 2024.💔🕊️
This is probably the best song that Toby Keith ever performed. along with "I Love This Bar' and "Red Solo Cup" he had so many Great songs that it was a difficult choice. but this one just inched out the others. the lyrics are so true especially now that I'm getting older. and it's one of my all time favorite songs by Toby Keith. and it's why I'm definitely a huge fan of his. I still can't believe that he is gone. it's so sad and such a shame he is definitely missed.
In heaven Toby is better than he ever was. He’s now in charge of the red solo cups up there when Jesus does the water into wine thang. Read your Bible. It’s in there.

The Bible and Revelation says that there will be a new heaven and earth and Jesus will live on earth and rule for a thousand years. So no one's in heaven right now.

I'm over 60, ex-military, ex-rugger, still sometimes think I can crack skulls like I was in my 20s. My wife just tells me to settle down, listen to this song, and act my age. She's pretty smart.

I think part of the reason Toby was so successful is that he had songs that showed a great sense of humor, like this one. He wasn’t afraid to poke fun at himself or let his hair down. We all need music to cheer us up sometimes. RIP TK❤
RIP Toby one great song we will miss you this side of the pond

This was me and my mama’s favorite song to listen to when I was a child now he’s up there hanging out with my mama. GodBless 🙏🏼🤍
Heard this song live in Afghanistan. It was just Toby and one of his guitarists and maybe 200 soldiers. Much respect for him.

We learned about gratitude and humility - that so many people had a hand in our success, from the teachers who inspired us to the janitors who kept our school clean... and we were taught to value everyone's contribution and treat everyone with respect. And I want to specially appreciate you for being a big fan. Thanks for your love and nice comments on my post, it means a lot to me and I would like to know more about you and how long you have been a good fan of mine Okay then I will direct you to my gmail address platform where we talk more on my leisure hour.
