It's not asking too much. Don't be preemptively offended by other people's thoughts. I really find it strange how people give up before they even try something and determine the outcome before even really thinking about what they are saying.

I'd rather go be a landscaper again. At the top they don't have respect for anything all they care about is money, miserable s.o.b's. Couldn't pay me 100 million to go back there, nothing will ever make me go back. Now I know how it really works. I'd rather be drinking beer with farmers around a campfire than eating $1000 lunches with those losers again.

The problem is that when you dont see your parents struggle as you grow up then you dont build up yourself to have that as a priority to be the cornerstone of your family or your relationships but as a man that gives you meaning in more than one ways. Most people choose to avoig the struggle, but it means giving up on part of you what means you will not feel as a whole person and you either can live with that or you dont, it is up to you.

It's like we're less conscious as a human being when everything is equal. Equal outcomes, equal thinking, equal everything. The glory is in what's fanatically unique about us. Bold faith and determination in what we personally believe and engage as a life prospect and vision, certainly far from popular and catering to everyone equally unless we sacrifice all of that uniqueness. Respectful, but unique faith and execution of the self. When everything is offensive and sensitive and trigger-warning, it's comfort danger to the future of humanity, it's a real inevitable harm to our fundamental survival to erode the resilience and mental+physical callusing of being boldly unique instead. Some get it from their own experiences with managing their life, and some have a little tantrum and say "oh you're crazy and what does that even mean" in an ego condescending comfort of a lifestyle of deflection and leveraging off others instead of working on the self within.

Unless you really think seeing your loved ones happy is all that you need, this is having an empty cup and putting yourself last. There’s gotta be more balance. My dad was the same way and always said for years that he never bought himself anything, and now he’s regretting he never did anything for himself in his later years. Young men, 50 and below, don’t get the respect from their female counterparts for their sacrifice these days. So we gave up…some of us, for the first time in life, just don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel on being a family man. It’s not a good reason but a valid excuse (makes sense but defeats the overall goal) I appreciate everything David Goggins said here and stands for..

******7/10 Incredible picture David Goggins has presented on Manhood and real men just want to add to it. I believe a real man not only takes care of his family financially and materialistically but also time wise and emotionally. You can give your family all the money in the world but a fathers time, a husbands time and a sons time is much more valuable to all his loved ones-10/04/2024

He dodges elegantly that parents would be more tough with their kids. You know when a kid cries alone and parents don't give a shit of their tantrum is gonna end up bad

My mother is awful. She gave up on life and my parents divorced. She faked being disabled and has been unemployed for the last 20+ years. My mother is one of the most selfish people I know. As a man, I am focused on providing for my wife and kids. Those are the responsibilities in my life. I want to help take care of my mother and father but they should also be willing to take care of themselves. They are responsible for making their lives so difficult at a way too early point. It's not my responsibility to overcome the fact that my parents gave up on life so early. I will help where I can but life is hard enough without the extra baggage of selfish drains on society.

He's on point. My girl of 12 years admitted I turned her off because of my negativity and bitterness and couldn't decide if she still wanted a future with me. She's 100% correct. It hit me to my core and I feel like garbage. I ended the relationship and have decided to walk away from the loser I've become at 51 and change to a life of positivity and love. I currently dress like a bum with no style but I refuse to live that way. Monk mode might work for David but I'm already there. I choose to strive for abundance. Dress nice for myself, sign up for beginners BJJ, study new topics, etc. I'll never be as hard as Goggins but I can be better than I am today. I always put everyone 1st and lived in their frame. No more. I do try to take care of my mom though so she can enjoy an international trip every year and enjoy her 70's. I have no kids or wife so I cant do the same as Goggins but I can take his lessons and stop being an energy vampire to those around me.

You can be harder than Goggins. It’s ALL your choice and what prices you’re willing to pay to get there. Don’t limit yourself.
