Goggins is the best, I thought his book is an absolute must read. The part of him telling about how someone died in his 3rd hell week doesn't do what he goes into detail in his book about it. It's the realest part of the book in my opinion and it really makes a person respect what people do to become a Navy Seal. I thought I knew what I was before reading and listening to the audible of "Can't Hurt Me" but now I know I have so much untapped potential and I kick myself because of it. I'm working harder now than I ever have in my life because of his books. Yep that's right I said books. I'm currently reading "Never Finished" it's just as good if not better than "Can't Hurt Me" I highly recommend both books if you are feeling like you are depressed or have no friends, family or think you are worthless. His books will make you think again, I promise.

This man has gone through hell willingly multiple times, through debilitating pain that an average individual could only imagine. Look at where he is now and as crass and forward he is, look at where that energy is pointed to. Ranger regiment is, theres a difference between going to ranger school and being a ranger. Ranger school is a leadership course, graduating it earns you the short tab. In order to be a ranger you have go through selection, earn the scroll and be assigned to and serve with the regiment. Short tab is uniform candy, scroll is special operations.

I mean that’s literally what all conceivable branches and their sub-classes all teach you. The Physical pain is not the worst part; It’s the Mental pain you have to push through to keep going. Think about the 54 Hour Crucible marines have to pass before they become marines. You go to the bathroom once before hand hand, eat one single MRE, and then you have to go 48 full hours without a chance to use the bathroom, eat or even sleep. At the 48 hour mark, you get a 15 minute nap, one single MRE, a chance to piss and shit in a hole, and then it’s another 6 hours of worse physical pain than the first 48. . It doesn’t matter how physically strong you are, that’s literally the foundational purpose of the Crucible. If you have a shit Mentality and cannot ignore the pain, the hunger, the urge to shit, and the urge to pass out, then you immediately fail out of the Marines completely.

Love how dry and to the point this comment is. So true. My grandparents truly endured some shit as well. The way they told it, they even had to make their own pencils, erasers, and paper and grow and pick the crops, prep the crops, then cook and eat them. If I hadn't spoke up, I am sure they'd have made their own dirt.

Goggins is literally the only person on this planet that Deserves the name HIM.
Goggins the great! Any time I feel sorry for myself i think of this guy and his perseverance
This man has gone through hell willingly multiple times, through debilitating pain that an average individual could only imagine. Look at where he is now and as crass and forward he is, look at where that energy is pointed to. He is consistently honing his existence, he is consistently trying to motivate others with how he lives. He still serves others whilst keeping himself deadly
Obstacles are not roadblocks; they are tests of your courage, determination, and resourcefulness.

Talk about steel of mental toughness.
Metacognition is a gift

It was a God damn jump scare when they clipped to the interviewer!!
I can tell the young person is totally Defeated by his presence VS being INSPIRED!
During SOI ITB, I failed the 20k hike (very last hike in order to graduate) due to heat cramps and got dropped back to the next company coming through. Basically had to start at the beginning again, it truly took some soul seeking to discover if I could put myself through it all again. I completed the 20k hike this time and it was an amazing feeling. I can’t imagine what was going through Goggin’s mind having to go through 3 hell weeks, man is a beast!
