15:56: "It's difficult to make a person appreciate freedom when they've never lost theirs." This is why Jocko's "discipline = freedom" is so powerful to me. I've never been a POW (or in the military), but I was trafficked for 5.5 years as a teenager. I was held captive and, for lack of a better word because I don't know another, tortured. I had no freedom and felt like I was stripped of my humanity because I was treated sub-human for so long. I ran away at 17, and I used my fierce work ethic to make sure I never HAD to go back home to that place for any reason. My relentless discipline in all things has given me freedom from my mom and the traffickers, drug addiction, domestic violence situations, homelessness, and extreme poverty. And my continued discipline after I got out of survival mode has given my kids freedom from everything I had to go through in life because they don't have to experience it. The cycle has been broken. That alone is worth it.

19:06: "You could be in the most horrific situation, but we get to decide how things are going to impact us." I wish I heard this when I was a teenager. It probably would've prevented me from reacting out of fear so much, and I could've avoided some terrible situations. But this realization that I'm in control of how things impact me is why I tell stories for organizations and people who do good. I channeled my pain and trauma into my fire to do good with my skills.

Jocko was among a few that helped keep me alive when I was close to suicide. His words made me realize that I had the strength within me to make the choice to not only live but thrive. The strength to lead by example the principles that I believe in but at the time just couldn't execute them. To get rid of my victim mindset and quit being weak. To be disciplined and focused. Now I wake up at 4:00 am everyday(last 2 years), cold shower, get to the gym by 5-6 am, walk 20,000 steps a day, ride my bike 10-20 miles a day, and then go to work. I do hard shit because I know that not only will it make me stronger physically, but also mentally. This extends to handling what life throws at me. Adversity is a chance to get better. My friends and coworkers think I am crazy lol. But I know what I am doing and I fucking love this shit. Fuck comfort. So thank you Jocko for being an inspiration and leader for humanity🙏🏾🤘🏾

I am so fccking proud to have served with men like this. I wasn't a SEAL, I was just a dirty nasty Air Assault leg, but there are universal truths out there. What Jocko says are among those. Speaking of selfless service, Jocko, is still serving. He is serving his brothers and sisters and fellow countrymen with his wisdom, his knowledge, his tenacity, his strength. He is the living embodiment of a saying. That saying is; "A candle does not lose its' light by lighting other candles." He is a torch for us all. When I was down and beaten up and recovering from war injuries and surgeries; his words came out of the darkness and called me to run into the fire. That which gives light must endure burning. Jocko has been there for me and we've never met. His words have guided me through dark times like the voices of my father (who is deceased) or the voices of my ancestors who tell me I have the strength to drive on through the pain. I can't thank Jocko enough. To the creators of this video; you have captured that essence in this video. I also can't thank you enough for this content. Of all the shht channels out there, this video and this channel shine through like the sun amidst the dark emptiness. Godspeed and goodwill to everyone else. Keep grinding. Keep going. Never quit.

18:12 "We talk about ideas." YES. I've told my clients I don't care to hear their revenue goals. (I've noticed talking about wishful revenue gives people an immediate, short-term dopamine boost that doesn't last, and the ones who focus more on money vs audience are the ones who are less likely to follow through with execution.) What I care about is what they're going to do to get there and what problems they're solving for their audience. The money will absolutely come if we just solve the right problems for the right people and are consistent with our strategy. The conversations look different with a curiosity-based approach.

Worst politicians are ex military with an Ego
They used a huge amount of footage of Marines in Ramadi. I am in this at 9:27. Was the XO of 2/4 at the time, 2004.

Are the accusations true about Jako getting all those Marines killed by basically going into the AO and unleashing Chris Kyle???
Being a teacher, Jocko’s lessons inspire me to not only better myself for myself, but better myself for the young people I try to impact everyday. His is the true definition of leadership and discipline.

If only I could tell Jocko how he saved my life. His podcasts and words changed my life during the darkest of time.. Thank you Jocko, God Bless you.
Absolutely legendary. Been following Jocko since his first podcast. I used his ownership lines in firefighter interviews. Nobody knew where I came up with such impressive answers. Today everyone knows. And the world is better for it. I’m so thankful for your success. Not just for you Jocko. But for the world! The hero we need but truly don’t deserve. God bless
No words other than "Thank you, sir. You have changed my life"!

My biggest inspiration, not a day goes by without the podcast playing
So this is what we get when Echo stops drinking. Blessed
Jocko is one of my heroes. I went active duty b/c of him.
Gonna play this while I do cardio every morning

Fantastic video. "Jocko was the leader you never wanted to let down."
You can tell how sincere he is by the way he looks at people in their eyes! He truly cares about what they are saying to him! You da man Jocko!
Dear Lt Cmdr Jocko!!!! After loosing my parents ten years ago, I thought that I was alone in this world with all the wisdom attained by my parents, after finding your wisdom I noticed that I’m no longer alone! You are the vivid example of fundamental values that humans need to excel!!! My utmost admiration and respect to you Sir!!!!!🇺🇸
Thanks, Jocko! Your teachings have literally changed me. For the GOOD.
You changed my life Jocko! I’ve been listening to every podcast since 2017! Thanks for all you do and continue to do!
Keep going. Never quit.

true legend. true hero. good.
Thank you for creating this doc, Jocko Fuel. And thank you to Jocko - been a listener since 2015, mere months after being in jail and going through divorce courts and custody battles because I screwed up. It was definitely a turning point for me. His story and podcast/books, etc aren't a magical solution - like he says, we have to do the work. We all struggle, even now for myself. But his work has been a source of inspiration and a reminder of what potential we all have, if we work. Tremendous film about a tremendous life.
Great Job 👏 Jocko and Echo ! This is an amazing video
That man is something different!! Thank u Jocko

Incredible video and a perfect introduction to Jocko. Love it
One of the best vids i've ever seen. No easy day.
Jocko is a great American.
So good. Very informative and the edit work is high quality 💪
Thank you, Jocko, for everything you do.
Amazing and inspiring video!
One of the strongest things I heard while I was in was during a drill debrief. A LT said "knowledge is power, knowledge shared is power lost" The CO replied "that is true... I never want to hear it again"
