Пришел как то к священнику один богатый человек и спросил его,как мне стать ближе к Богу? Что я для этого должен сделать? Ничего,отвечает священник,подойди к окну,посмотри в него. Человек подошёл,увидел что за окном собралась толпа голодных и бедных простых людей. А теперь,подойди к зеркалу сказал священник. Человек подошёл к зеркалу. Ну а теперь что ты видишь? Себя! Ответил человек! Вот видишь,говорит священник,ты прежде всего видишь себя,а людей не видишь. Я хочу,чтобы Роджерс и Дэвид помирились,не смотря ни на что. Они должны войти в историю не только как величайшие музыканты,а так же как мудрые люди смирившие свой смертный грех,-это гордыню! Зная подробно их тернистый жизненный путь,ссора эта все портит. Ведь мы люди их любим,а они даны нам Богом для радости ! Не имею права наверное говорить от всех людей,но думаю от имени большинства прошу их примирения и мы станем несказанно рады!!! Извините если немного сумбурно описал свои мысли об этом!

Maybe Waters' anger against the rest f the group is at least part jealousy? I've always thought so, especially as when they split he expected Floyd to collapse and disappear without him.

Went there as a 17yr old, dragged my mother along as she was a huge fan and despite her being worried about the age group we both thoroughly enjoyed it. So disappointed when it closed down.

Билеты на их концерт 1989 года в Олимпийсикй, я покупал совершенно свободно в ларьке Театральная афиша на тогдашней Горького, прямо напротив тогдашнего Интуриста, по цене 10 советских рублей за билет. Как сейчас помню, что снова заговорил спустя полтора часа после окончания концерта...был шокирован увиденным и услышенным

I have listened to tens of thousands of songs in my long life. And I have to say this is the best song ever, especially in the lyrics as in the second chorus sung by David, as well as the otherworldly guitar solos. Gets to me every time, and this is simply a phenomenal performance of this great song.

I've listened to this song a thousand times, and every time it just gets better and better. Water's soft vocals and Gilmour's legendary guitar rifts...wow!!

I saw these guys in concert twice back in the 70s. The first show was at Winterland in 1972. They were beyond incredible and in such a small venue it was unbelievable! I sat on the floor right under Roger Waters and as he sang, sometimes spit would fly out of his mouth on me. lol When they did "Careful with that Axe Eugene," Roger kept a straight face and then started screaming and he looked totally insane. As he screamed, conga drums or something like that blew up. Scared the crap out of everyone! The place was filled with fog from a machine and colored lights pulsated through them. They hadn't released Dark Side of the Moon yet so we got to hear it before everyone else. Then I saw them again in 1975 at the Cow Palace. It was standing room only and packed like Sardines as now they were very famous. They performed the entire Dark Side of the Moon set and when they performed "On the Run," I knew something was up so my friend and I moved up from the floor to the bleachers. "On the Run" is very intense with its fast pace and drone-like sound. I always envisioned a guy running or in a fast car or airplane and at the end, he crashes and burns -typical for Pink Floyd! So they are showing this video of I think it was a jet moving quickly over land or something like that. It was a huge screen and everyone was mesmerized by it. At the end, it sounds like a huge explosion with a guy screaming and sure enough, typical for Pink Floyd, they had a huge jet like a 707 or 747 come flying down on a wire from the back of the Cow Palace and crashing into the screen! It looked like an actual jet was crashing inside the place and scared the hell out of everybody on the floor! It was great!!! I'm so sad these guys can never get back together as a whole but the memories I have of those two concerts will live with me forever!

I can top that. I saw the Dark Side of the Moon Tour. Blue Oyster Cult opened which didn't mean dick to me. I've seen a lot of concerts, and I can saw without question Pink Floyd was the loudest.

I saw them at Winterland in 72 also and then again 22 long years later at Mile High Stadium in Denver. I was raised in Pleasanton Calif. It was a great time to be in the Bay Area.

I'm afraid this show never happened, they won't speak to each other, well David won't speak to Roger. It was edited from two shows in two different places, both without each other. They will most likely never set foot on stage together again very sadly.

@@TEFLLemon Ah but they did in 2010 at the 02 arena in London and did this song. I went to the Manchestet show of Rogers Wall tour a few days later hoping that Dave Gilmour would turn up and do his solo but it wasn't to be. London was a one off.

My beloved Pink Floyd from 1971 until the 80’s and football arena’s. I have swooned and swayed as I journeyed beyond the universe listening to Floyd.

Hearing this guitar solo (s) takes me back to the room with a black light and posters where I first heard it.

When You just feed on music, you cry from hunger. You want more, and just by then , you come to hear pink floyd.

How generous of David to extend to the maximum his solo...! The molecular structure of our soul is vibrating at unison!

My father showed me this when I was younger, now 25 years later as a Hip-Hop head, there is nothing that can make me cry so easily as this guitar solo at the end compared with the drums. It just make the water inside my body go all around.. unbelievable! This whole show is just magic!

Progressive rock is practically as refined and sophisticated as jazz and classical music, if that's what you mean. Look at the video, there is even a symphonic orchestra on the background :)

Classics like this are like a fine wine. They get better with age.

The first time I played this on my stack system I cranked it right up stood in the middle of my living room and it made me feel out of my head without any drugs or alcohol. It does the same every time, the only track by the only group that has done that to me!. One of the best Rock tracks ever! Fantastic

My dad used to play this every Sunday morning. I would wake up listening to Pink Floyd when I was a child. Now that I'm a father; my child wakes up listening to Pink Floyd. Great music never dies.

ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE BEST GROUP IN HISTORY [PINK FLOYD] WOW! JUST AMAZING AFTER OVER 40 YEARS LATER. STILL SOUNDS THE SAME.

In my humble opinion, this is the best live version of the song i have heard. David's solos are so clean and clear! Like every note is distinguishable. ❤

David Gilmour can play this song in hundred different versions / improvisations and every one of that hundred will be a masterpiece

My father introduced me to this great music. Now I'm 15 and I start to realize that great music like that will never be made again 😢

They've performed the song together on a couple of other occasions, but not for a few years, I don't think. What I really like is that the two different sections have different production approaches, and both really suit their section of the song. Waters's section is clinical, precise, haunting, and maybe a touch smarmy, while Gilmour's section is lush, overpowering, raw, and emotional.. They embody two different ways of viewing the world, which is probably why they have such difficulty working together - but when they can find a way to coexist (or when someone does a clever edit job), magic happens.
