@@visearms5774 Compared to today it's not even close. Programmers make things and people sound good today. So you think Jimmy Page only stole his music and didn't create it? He didn't even write songs for commercial success. Zep songs were too long for radio. Listen to Physical Graffiti and tell me who today could make that album? Everyone is influenced by someone else. Led Zeppelin was no different. But your example is pathetic.

As a DJ in the 80's, I played this song at countless weddings and knew it well. One late evening, I was teaching my teenaged daughter some songs on the keyboard. My wife had gone to bed, and gets up for nothing once she's tucked in. As I played "If", I revealed to my daughter that when I played this song in college it was guaranteed to attract girls to the piano from nowhere, like magic! As if on cue, my wife walked sleepily into the living room in her pj's, because she had heard the song, and my daughter and I had a good-natured laugh at its enduring power, all these years later! lol :-)

I was 9 years old when I first heard this song. Brings back a flood of memories. Every time I hear this song I see my 9 year old self sitting under a shady tree daydreaming of a future life with a love of my life. The dream came true and have been happily married for 3 decades and have 2 adult daughters. There were times when “my love for life would run dry” and yes every time it happens my love would “pour herself” on me. Soon we are going to reach the twilight but I’m ok with it knowing that we’re going to be hand in hand facing it while looking back at the 9 year old daydreamer under a shady tree, smiling at each other.

For those who just know this song❤️ Lyrics: If a picture paints a thousand words, Then why can't I paint you? The words will never show the you I've come to know. If a face could launch a thousand ships, Then where am I to go? There's no one home but you, You're all that's left me too. And when my love for life is running dry, You come and pour yourself on me. If a man could be two places at one time, I'd be with you. Tomorrow and today, beside you all the way. If the world should stop revolving spinning slowly down to die, I'd spend the end with you. And when the world was through, Then one by one the stars would all go out, Then you and I would simply fly away…

"If" If a picture paints a thousand words Then why can't I paint you? The words will never show The you I've come to know If a face could launch a thousand ships Then where am I to go? There's no one home but you You're all that's left me too And when my love for life is running dry You come and pour yourself on me If a man could be two places at one time I'd be with you Tomorrow and today Beside you all the way If the world should stop revolving Spinning slowly down to die I'd spend the end with you And when the world was through Then one by one the stars would all go out Then you and I would simply fly away

My husband just tagged me on Facebook, with this video (he dedicated it to me). We met in the 7th grade, in 1982. We were friends, all throughout junior high school and high school. After H.S. graduation, we went our separate ways and made our own lives. 17 years later, I was looking through the White Pages, searching for the phone number of a restaurant, I wanted to place a take-out order with. I stumbled across his name... called him out of the blue. Ten months later, we were married and we're now going on our 15th wedding anniversary. We were blessed to find one another, at the perfect time. Thanks for the video. :)

I would add to that - an underrated guitarist as well, those are difficult chords on a guitar - especially those barr chords on a steel sting and to be so articulate with the finger picking - he makes it look easy - its not.

If there was a machine that measures spiritual purity in a voice, he would knock it off scale!

So beautiful. When music and singing were real and meaningful. Makes me sad to think about the state of humans these days.
