I wish there was a solid interview of David Foster about the experience of producing the Bodyguard set of songs with Whitney. Those songs were magical and what made the film such a hit. That revelation that she couldn't do the original key is shockingly amazing.

Hey Tamir! Question for you.. Have you ever accepted Jesus as your personal savior from your sins?? Let me explain... We have ALL sinned. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;" Well, that sin dooms us to hell. But God sent His son Jesus to die for our sins and make the sacrifice necessary to redeem us for our sins. John 3:16 Says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Romans 6:23 Says "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Jesus was buried but rose from the dead on the third day from the grave and beat death!! Jesus Christ has made a way for us to go to heaven instead of hell! Believe in the truth that Jesus died for you, was buried, but rose again the third day! Jesus can ssve your soul if you will let Him! Believe on Jesus and put your faith in Jesus! Call upon Jesus in faith today and ask Him to forgive your sins and Save your soul!

Pls stop. He literally said that she said herself it was difficult. Nd she never once sang it in the original key live. U sound very dumb Nd this is coming from a big Whitney fan. For some screwed up reason u have to believe Whitney never struggled or messed up when it came to singing n that she was always perfect. Get a grip.

@@Swahili14 there's no such thing as a mixed voice. it's a misnomer thrown around by ignorant frauds who know nothing about the physiology of the human voice. you're either in modal voice or falsetto. it's either your vocalis muscle is engaged or not. you're either in m1 or m2. there's no m1.5. what you perceive to be the mixed voice is just extended modal voice or resonant falsetto.

I often wonder though, if Whitney pushing her voice into areas she didn't feel comfortable and generally just belting the living s**t out of all her amazing songs on tours wore her voice clean out!?!?!? Like, maybe if she didn't tour as extensively and of course didn't use drugs/smoke, that combination of self care would have preserved her voice into older age. Suppose we'll never know.

My understanding is that nowadays you can lower the key of the track using software. Back then you couldn't. So David Foster would have had to redo the whole track, all the instruments in a lower key and he said there wasn't time to do it. Maybe they were up against it? It explains why Whitney always sang the live version in a lower key, I believe at least 2 semi tones...

Just some things to note: 1. This was the only song Whitney ever stated she struggled to hit an F#5, and she was also allegedly smoking while recording this song (hence why there’s rasp even in her midbelts and the agility). 2. Whitney literally hit F5-G5s in 92’ while pregnant in Im Every Woman, and she never struggled doing it then. 3. Whitney hit an F#5 in 92’. It’s Time 92’ (she was pregnant and sober here, thus why she didn’t struggle). 51 seconds into the attached clip. m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z6yNrbGBg6bdqKg.html&pp=ygUQaXRzIHRpbWUgd2hpdG5leQ%3D%3D For other F#5s from Whitney, look at: m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/ooGG3Mlxo72td7Q.html m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/g5Oek6irmcydh7w.html m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/i2eetrx6XbqbqNY.html (Starts at 1:28)

Can't believe everything somebody says. No shade, but that classic became a big home run for David how about mentioning that if you he didn't in the full interview.
