David Chang Makes an Easy Noodle Stir Fry

Dave Chang takes over his friend's kitchen and makes this clean-out-the-fridge recipe featuring Momofuku Soy & Scallion noodles. There's no plan, no preparation but this is the essence of weeknight home cooking. Dave's not trying to hit the bulls-eye, just the target.

If David keeps testing the noodles, it’ll only serve a family of 2.

My family will now straight up eat loads of vegetables if they are stir fried and tossed with Momofuku noodles. I am so thankful because I love veggies and now we can eat the same entree. People who live with picky eaters will understand the joy I feel!

When I was in grade school I met a girl from Japan who had just moved to the USA. As we became friends our mothers became friends. Her mother showed my mother how to make “Japanese snack” it was ramen(which we had never seen before-this was the 70’s)sausage or hot dogs and cabbage stir fried and mixed with the ramen. It became a family staple and while I was caring for my mother in her nineties it was still a favorite. The kids are grown my mother is gone but I still make it for myself. And the first thing I do is take the ramen out of its packaging.

Not even sure HOW I found out of about Momofuku and was intrigued so ordered a variety pack and Chili Crunch. Sitting here enjoying a plain bowl of Soy & Scallion Noodles with of course, a nice spoonful of Chili Crunch. I’m a huge noodle and ramen fan and these are frankly, amazing. I first became aware of David via an episode of Chefs Table on Netflix if I recall. I’m glad to see he is still sharing his food passions with all of us. I’ll definitely be purchasing MORE.

Picked up reduced for sale (?!) Momofuku Soy & Scallion noodles at my mid west USA supermarket. Microwave noodles. drain, and add packet goodies at work. Mix in whatever greens I keep in fridge. Tasty. The honey addition is nice tip. Def trying that. Thanks Dave! 😊

That was agave, not honey. Honey can be used as well but does have the ability to take over with it's flavour. Agave is more neutral and mostly adds sweetness.

Wanted to see what the hubbub was about with these. Purchased a pack at a local target store, tingly chili. I knew I wasn't gonna like it soon as I put the sauce on it, smelled weird, not like food but synthetic. Tried a couple bites, I like the noodles, but that sauce. Got four individual packs left, I suppose the noodles would be good with s & p, butter and some white wine. Flavor packets are going in the garbage...
