Ben Davidson The same can be said about the British Army and its associates during the Irish Troubles. They committed just as much murder and terrorism against the Irish but at least the IRA often attempted to warn innocent civilians of when a bomb was about to go off whilst the British Army was happy to walk into a bar at random and gun down everyone inside regardless of whether they were IRA members or not. Both organisations committed horrific acts but if you’re going to label the IRA as terrorists then you have to do the same for Britain or you’re a hypocrite.

@DarylBartholomewEAI After WW2 (and during it) both the political class and the common people looked at the living conditions of the country (and includes the effects of the Great Depression) and agreed this needs to end which was why the NHS snd the welfare state was created so that those affected by the past 2 decades would not only be able to recover but also that such a situation would not happen again. However now the question is that is it still viable to do so without causing problems to the personal level of capitalism. Also for your countries Japan and Germany well East Germany is still recovering from being under Soviet rule and Japan, besides having a ridiculous work ethic, has a government that knows Japan and also has a very powerful industry that it benifits from the nature of Japanese history.

Jblade 778 --- he made an enormous mistake when he went to try to renegotiate Britain's relationship with the EU because he said in advance he would win a referendum easily, which left no incentive for much concession among Eurocrats. When he realised that the top brass at the EU would barely bend at all it put him in a terrible position. He ended up able to achieve very little as a result and had already pledged a referendum. He made the decision to stick by the renegotiation and campaign for remain. In reality, i bet when he looks back he wishes so badly that he never said he could win a referendum, and that if he didn't secure much more concessions from the EU that he would campaign to leave the EU. that would have been a totally different story from the European commissions point of view. Cameron was never a lover of the EU and surprised many in his own party by backing remain. At the end of the day though, the man promised a referendum and delivered and when he lost he accepted that he wasn't the right person to see brexit through and stood down. Many others would have simply reneged on the referendum pledge and made excuses. He didn't. At the end of the day it cost him a job he clearly loved doing. Without Cameron there would have been no brexit.
