    +Punditube I guess the concept is still alien to people who are not used to handling playing cards. Just like lay people don't realize that merely cutting the deck doesn't exactly change the order of the deck.

    It's because he incepted the f out of those people. The dude kept drawing 8's and then David said "if you went one more or one less it's a 6 or jack, but he drew an 8 so we are good" and they are all thinking... "But what if he didn't" Card trick within a card trick..

    @@GoldCaesar It takes a lot of psychology and the ability to control the situation. I've seen another card trick where someone started asking a question and if they should do something else and he quickly grabbed the cards and did a big wingspan with his arms and said "So we got the card, and now what I'll have you do is......" It was really smooth and I wouldn't have noticed if I haven't been watching him a lot.

    I can tell you how the levitation in the street trick was done for his TV special but you're gonna be disappointed. For the audience in the street, he's just doing this very simple effect of standing up on 9ne foots tip toe and the foot next to it you raise the heel up at the same time. It gives the illusion of a tiny levitation, of about an inch or so. That's whst the street audiences are reacting to. The actual shot of him rising high up in the air was shot later or earlier in the week when no one was around, using g a wire system. Then it's edited into the final cut. It's quite fraudulent really. So no one is actually seeing that high levitation on the wires but the crew. TV editing in other words.

    People that are confused on the second part. Blaine proposesly makes each even or odd card a 8 or 9 (so if the 2nd person choose a card that more than the 16th card, it wouldnt work). So when he asks the 2nd person to "stop", he can either choose the card that the person placed down or the next card, which will always be 8 or 9. The card the lady put on was the 9th position on her spilt, so he can say either the 8th or 9th position is her card (flip 8 cards and then say next card is hers or flip 8 cards and then say the 9th is hers).

  • @markherring3513

    So what does he do when someone goes further than the 16th card?!?!? How does he correct it?

  • @scumbagscott9900
    @scumbagscott99009 жыл бұрын

    Basically on both decks, you are telling them to reveal a card based on the fact if they drew out an odd or an even amount. Say the first person dealing, (which is the second half of the deck) delt 12, because it is even, you want them to reveal the card that was to be delt next. That way, they would pull out one of the 8's or 9's that you set you secretly set in a certain order in the deck. If it were odd, you would want them to reveal the card that had last been delt because it would reveal one of the 8's or 9's that secretly set in a certain order. Now since you put the chosen card (like the "Ace of Spades" in the first example) 8 cards after in the deck, you will be able to convince people that the 8 or 9 was an indicator of where the chosen card was in the first deck. If they drew a 9, you would have them place 8 cards in your hand and then reveal the chosen card which is next in the deck. If they drew an 8, you would have do the same, and no one would think "oh but the card was a 9 not an 8", BECAUSE 8 is still a relevant number in the trick because you had them place 8 cards in your hand.

    Ford wasn't in on it. The very fact that people resort to that belief is testament to the lengths a magician will go to deceive the spectator. Procuring a card from a fruit is a known trick, and it requires a LOT of preparation.

  • @Scarecrow545

    @Scarecrow545

    10 жыл бұрын

    ***** Actually, it really doesn't. The card in the fruit wasn't the part that has me stumped, he probably just palmed it in. The fact that he knew what card Harrison would pick and had it removed from the deck before the fact was what got me.

  • @Nola213

    @Nola213

    10 жыл бұрын

    Scarecrow545 Goggle "Card Forces" or just look for tutorials on you tube.There's plenty of ways to force a certain card on a person. Then you have that same card (a duplicate already in the fruit. The part I think Ford may have been in on was the piece of fruit he chose. I guess they could have put identical cards in every piece of fruit on the counter. Or they replaced every piece of fruit on the counter with ones with the pre selected "force card in them. Then swapped them all while DB distracted Ford. Anything is possible.

  • @Scarecrow545

    @Scarecrow545

    10 жыл бұрын

    Nola213 I know what a force is. The fact that he asked Harrison to verbally tell him a card without his ever touching the deck pretty much makes it clear he couldn't have forced one (unless there was other stuff said or done off camera that we haven't seen). As for getting the card in the fruit, like I said, more likely he just palmed it in as he was separating the two halves.

    Those confused with the 8 and 9 thing here is a simple step by step instruction, way hope u get it you remember David placed one random card between 8s and 9s like eg: 8 hearts, A clubs, 8 diamonds, 3 hearts, 8 spades, 7 diamonds, 8 clubs, 2 hearts, 9 clubs, J diamond, 9 hearts, Q spades, 9 spades, 4 club, 9 diamond, K diamond Memorise the pattern and say the dude starts dropping cards lets say in the sequence from the example I gave (start from 8 hearts) stops somewhere at 2 hearts (see my example) now U know you cant use the last card he dropped right? so what you do.. you make the next card (the last one he didn't drop) which is a 9 clubs (see example) and Yes u positioned it in a way that after 8 cards you tell them to show the card right? but since its 9 just say pick the 9th card. Again if it was an 8 then say pick the card after 8 cards,

  • @thecultofpop

    I believe that you just switch which card they flip over. If it is odd, you flip the top card from the pile they dealt face down. When even the face up card is not 8 or 9, but the top card still in their hands is either 8 or 9. The number of cards dealt out dictates which pile to flip from for the indicator card. He kinda skimped on that part of the explanation, but that is why he asks them to be sure so they don't just flip the card from the pile they dealt down. Make sense?

    Its awesome, the key here is that on 3:11, he places whatever your card is on the 8th place of that deck. Then on the 2nd half of the deck there are four 8's and four 9's in the odd positions eg: 2 8* 4 9* 5 8* 11 8* 7 9* etc... So, as long as they stop at 16 (or 17) then there's bound to be an 8 or a 9 there. and voila!

    look you need to count like if you start putting the cards from the second position of the deck then it would be on a even number but the spectator puts odd cards down then you pick from the portion of his hand thus being the even number

    When the cards are dealt in the had (the pack with the 8 and 9) you think to yourself the cards being dealt are either yes or no. For each card deal the swap which it is, starting with no. So say they place a card down, you say in your head "no". Then yes, then no etc. When they stop is when you make the decision. If it's a yes they finish on, it's the card they dealt. If not, it's the card on the packet that hasn't been death you want

    because he prepares the cue cards(8 and 9's) and puts them in the odd number count position. So when the person stops his count like on a even count like 10, he would then ask him to turn over the next card which is 11(odd) in the count which is where a cue card will be found.

    For people who dont get it, i had to watch it twice. David Blame plants the Ace/Target Card, 8 spots away in the first deck. Then in the other hand he is controlling the outcome on what card gets drawn to get an 8 or 9. And he will use that to count in the first deck.

  • @kingair4774

    At 4:11, let's say he stop at 10 an even number, then you would ask him if he is sure or wants to change his mind to ensure he doesn't flip the even card. Then you flip over the 11th card as if his 10 count was meant to reveal the 11th card. The same concept as the final part of the trick. It's a really easy trick but can be effective.
