    But they are the sins of the name. Do you hear of anyone naming their kids Adolf? Never heard of a John Wilkes Booth Jr. I don’t know of any other Genghis Khan‘s running around the planet. Those other individuals didn’t suffer from major brain damage and Their sins are completely different but no one wants to reminded of those individuals or their actions.

    @@quintinlee9224 It is tainted because of what happened in 2007; but wwe is tainted for continuing their pay per view after Owen Hart's tragic death. Does that mean that all of wwe should shut down and end forever because of that soulless decision by wwe? Or should they continue to carry on, try to redeem themselves and make sure to never, ever do something like that again?

    @@goodday2760 - IKR? This is a big part of why I actively try to avoid the news, nowadays. It's quite depressing, overall, hence my avoidance, but I especially hate being reminded that the pandemic is still a problem. While it still gets a mention, though, most of the news' attention, nowadays, is drawn to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which I, and others, have no qualms in attributing to weak leadership. Just what we need, right now, eh? Another conflict, and a new type of food for the current thing supporters to taste.

    @@goodday2760 I haven't watched the news for 20 years couldn't be happier "didn't you hear???"..no..that's why I'm level headed especially American news. I'm from UK you guys are numb to it but your news is a full on assault on all your senses and they talk to you like complete children even put spooky music when talking about murders and robberies our reporters we grew up with were stoic wether talking about a guy murdering people or a light-hearted article. Ours has now gone the same way it's just indoctrination all you have to do is pick a side.

    It would be great for him to carry on his father's legacy in a positive way. He could one day restore the family name. Before 2007 the name Benoit was synonymous with greatness. After the terrible things that happened in 2007 the name Benoit became synonymous with terrible, horrific actions. I look forward to the day when Benoit Junior can take back the family name and make it great again.

    @@JulianFikry Fully blaming the tragedy on steroid abuse is kind of silly honestly. There were obviously some kind of psychological problems in Chris’s head leading to what he had done. Yes, steroids could have been a factor, but it’s impossible for it to be the entire reason he did it. Chris was devastated by Eddie’s death, and he was never the same after that day. Also, the amount of chair shots to the head and abuse his brain went through while performing are a factor. None of us know the exact reason why he did the things he did, and his son sure as hell shouldn’t have to live in his father’s shadow.

    What happened here was a tragedy to the family and fans. But I still believe that what happened wasn't him. The steroids and probably prescription pills broke something in him. Me being on the outside looking in and not actually knowing him I still believe his character was better than this and his legacy deserves to live on.

    If David really wants to get into the wrestling business, he should do everything he can to avoid connection with his dad. Fact of the matter is if he really does everything he says he is gonna do like name himself Chris Benoit Jr, use the same moveset, same theme, same style gear etc, no promoter worth their salt will book him. Even if he does do that, he'll have an extremely hard time getting any worthwhile booking because every wrestling fan and promoters knows who he is

He could go in with everything being completely different from his dad and he still wouldn't get booked by anybody but shady promoters since we all know who he is.     He should be his own person. Almost every time a 2nd or 3rd gen wrestler attempts yo copy their father or grandfather’s gimmick it never works out and they fail to get over either because they lack the in-ring talent or charisma of the original. Be David Benoit but make your own original gimmick, in-ring style, and music. It’s good that he’s proud of what his dad accomplished in the ring, but I imagine Chris would be much prouder if David did it on his own without being a mediocre replica of him.

    Remember; to most people, Chris Benoit is a person who did something truly awful at the end of his life and will forever be defined by that alone. But for David, he’s still “Dad.” Nothing is ever gonna change that. He’s never gonna shun his father.

He’s got memories of birthdays and holidays and vacations, and basically just a lifetime of his dad being a good person. He lived that. It’s much more complicated for him than it is for the general public.

    poor dude. you cant blame him for loving his father but hes delusional. the uniqueness of the situation, being in a spot where almost nobody can relate to you, his grief and isolation have made him completely out of touch. and you can see the pain in his eyes and in his soul. its consumed him. his very existence is pain and suffering based around what he knows his dad did. and that creepy smile is him trying to bury his head in the sand about the reality of things. really....poor guy, doesnt deserve this fate.

    Yeah WWE wouldn’t in a million years. Not while Vince is around anyway. They want to pretend Benoit didn’t exist, and bringing in his son who looks exactly like him isn’t a great way of doing that!! Agree AEW would be a potential route in but I’m not sure he’s taking it seriously, and tbh I think he’s best away from the wrestling scene anyway.
