    Although WWE has tried to distance itself from Chris Benoit over the years, he was once a huge part of the sport. Plus, his passing helped educate the world about the effects that contact sports can have on someone’s health. Chris had an impressive wrestling career for 22 years and took home several titles in that time. Even on the night of his passing, Chris was expected to win his third world championship at a WWE event. That moment never came as Chris was found to have taken his own life in June 2007. This came after he took the life of his son and wife. Further research has shown several concussions and damage led Chris to suffer from behavioral issues and dementia.

    I think WWE actually knew what happened or had a good idea what might've happened but opted to run the Benoit tribute show anyway. CTE can cause people to act differently but it doesn't alter your personality. It seems Benoit had issues long before concussions and talk of CTE. Dave Penzer, Justin Roberts, and William Regal all said that he had a dark side. Regal implied it but didn't outright say anything. New Jack said it best, he had a severe brain injured from a cracked skull and he didn't kill his family. Fans will go to great lengths to blame Kevin Sullivan or CTE but the truth is Benoit was mentally disturbed and kept his emotions bottled up. So that powder keg was primed to blow up and short of WWE forcing Benoit to retire before 2007, no one could stop the inevitable.

  • @thafearess1

    Cause the inevitable was that he was destined to die sometime soon anyway had he not committed the Murder/suicide…or so I read. Is that right? I saw somewhere that they said his brain was so severely damaged that he didn’t have a long life ahead of him.

  • @WildWest83

    @WildWest83

    Жыл бұрын

    @@thafearess1 I believe it was a couple big health issues that would've caused Benoit's death as reported by his autopsy. He had taken steroids and prescription meds along with drinking alcohol to extremes that his heart was enlarged. This is what also killed Eddie Guerrero and ironically would have killed Benoit within a year or two anyway. His brain was so severely damaged that he also could have died from a stroke or aneurysm not even including things like dementia or other complications arising from that damage. Many people close to Chris said he and Nancy had a very volatile relationship and she had filed for divorce before. I believe she confronted him and said she was taking Daniel with her and Benoit snapped. Possibly had been drinking or was drunk on top of being high off of pain meds. It was the perfect storm sitting on top of a powder keg that had been primed to explode for many years. It's just weird that if he had waited and not killed his family and himself, he'd have been dead in a year or two anyway.

    @convert313 apparently the phone was later recovered but not for a while after the initial investigation. Same with his suicide ish note. There aren't as many problems with the case as people think. Part kf the confusion is the WWE trying to hide the cte stuff, the media already not liking wrestling and trying to spin the steroid case. The often ignored fact that he had previously been put on some experimental pain meds that were shown to cause aggression issues down the line and randomly even after the drug was removed from the system. Along with some other shit. Like the whole them spinning his son having fragile x syndrome. And the son while not having fragile x syndrome possibly being not the healthiest kid. Technically speaking as a kid I only had asthma and a dental issue, yet I was also part of literal medical studies and had unresearched health issues. I'm gonna guess likely undiagnosed low iron or something like that. Him and his wife apparently had turbulent marriage and issues. Both had alcohol issues apparently. Among other stresses. Plus possible added brain injury right before the incident. Along with recent steroid related issues where he was gonna not be able to use them probably but Vince was still making people feel like if you didn't you'd get fired. Likely fact is. Toxic workplace environment lack of proper safety standards around head hits. Road usage destroying his testicle function and the ridiculously needed levels of trt plus who knows what else. And his best friend dying and the WWE playing it off ass like recreational drugs vs ped and pain killers from the business.

And the problem is that people are talking as though Benoit was a husk of a man incapable of rational thought, when in reality literally a matter of days before this happened he was still very much capable of putting together and carrying out complex wrestling matches. His peers said thay he had been normal and they would never have suspected anything like this. And even more importantly, this wasn't a spontaneous action where he did what he did in a single outburst - no, it was significantly after Nancy was murdered that he then made the decision to end Daniel's life, it was a very much considered action. He was a murderer, end of story.

    I honestly do not know. I know what's been put out there. I know how it looks and I totally can understand why any and almost everyone believe Chris killed his family. I get it. But for some strange reason so many things just do not seem right, make sense or are even glossed over. I cannot say one way or another but I do know after seeing some of the reports of the investigation,...... I will probably always wonder.

    @@8Bitorbust None of it adds up, they say it was premeditated yet hours earlier he's getting the pool cleaned for the summer, enquiring about the family car being sold at the dealership, having a family cook out, then people said he snapped but if he was so enraged why the hell would he start calling around having candid conversations with wwf officials, the aircon was off the entire time even when the police went into the house during sweltering hot days, the dogs weren't in the back enclosure when the police showed up despite what the "last" txt was stating.. So who let them out. Chris's cell phone missing.. Just yip suicide double homicide both cell phones were used 72 hours prior and noe ones just gone! The unusual manner of how Chris supposedly "killed himself", his neck wasn't snapped and he wasn't hung in a conventual manner, instead he was found slumped whilst he supposedly held weights in each hand to assist killing himself? , the knife obscured under his son Daniel's bed, on and on and on and on it goes, no fingerprints were ever taken during the crime scene investigation.. Even if he snapped or it was premeditated then why in the **** would he use a white cloth around his neck if unless of course vanity was the last thing on his mind. I can only think of one reason a white cloth would be used in that instance and I think we both know why that would be.
