One of my favorite part of combat sports is the respect shown afterwards. Its second only to the actual fight.

Man the craziest thing about this fight was the fact that Kenny was completely one sided and DB made no excuses. A couple times plant was holding David’s arm And he realized kenny wasn’t going to say shit so he just started beating plants ass with one hand Lol. Mad props to DB.

Benavidez showed patients and composure…he knew plant was gonna run and hold but he didn’t get frustrated and knew plants was gonna slow down…the difference between both fighters is that unlike plant, David gets better as the round go on and more comfortable z

Kenny Bayless has ALWAYS been a bias referee! I am very bias in this fight but its the one time I was wanting Kenny to give Caleb more time to rest and he definitely did that. But he does this way too much and he never likes fighters who fight on the inside. He lets ppl hold too much but he definitely liked Caleb.

If the ref would’ve gave more warnings or took more points away for the holding, David would’ve stopped plant in less then 10 rounds. Bayless constantly allowing to hold onto his arms and body was the only thing that allowed plant to survive.

The clinching did more for Benavidez than it did for Plant tbh. It allowed him to get away with lots of holding, shoving, and elbows. No shame in it, because constant clinching is dirty in its own way, so fight fire with fire. At one point Benavidez was holding onto Plants arm and wailing on him with the other lol. That was savage. Props to David for turning Plant’s clinching against him.

Styles make fights and Plant’s style is a tougher matchup for Canelo than Benavidez’s. And this was easily Benavidez’s best performance to date, yet it proved he stand no chance vs Canelo. Sorry. Can’t wait to see the fight tho. Casuals will definitely think Benavidez has a chance and it will make for a big event.

well that was his plan. It was working till that cut above his eye, benavidez really took the inciative after that and became the mexican monster at the end, a great fight and caleb has a chin!

Plant outboxed David for the first half then David took over. Caleb fought hard but was barely surviving 10-12

The future of Mexican boxing

Benavides impressed me. I knew he would win but I was worried he would get frustrated but he showed patience and put in work in the second half. Only complaint is that he didn’t really showcase his 5 or 6 punch combo and I believed he coulda finished the fight with said combos in the 8th and 10th round. Overall a good win and proof he has a big stamina tank.

yes i feel the same, i was waiting for those signature combinations and they would have probably finished plant. I hope he has not changed his style into a more power punching single shot puncher.

David showed not only his skill and greatness but also respect to Caleb. It shows he is a true champion

PLANT was HUGGING DAVID BENEVIDEZ thinking it was his MOM 😂 lol where all people said plant hit harder now ?? Lol 😂 this wasn't by far his best performance but he showed a new side of his boxing !!!

how David recognizes its not about the belts, its about the name, i always respected that idea, esp arent fans saying theres too many belts these days anyways, plus rankings are political,, i understand what he meant, but mainly David seems grateful for the fans, he truly does, so i appreciate that considerably 🤙✊💪

To be honest plant got saved by the mayweather ref!!! How come canelo didn’t had that ref against plant?? That goes to show you the ref makes a difference.
