Johnny Depp actually plays just slide guitar on this track, also Oasis guitarist Noel gallagher was and still is friends with an English model called Kate Moss, who at this time was in a relationship with Johnny Depp, between years 1994 and 1998. as this song was from the album Be Here Now, which was recorded between 1996-1997. 😉👍

Not a coincidence this tune contains the lyrics "helter skelter". Brilliant live, and loud as fuck. What a band. They were supported at this gig by a band called Travis, and Noel joined them on stage for ',All I Wanna Do Is Rock'. That's on KZread and well worth your time. Loving your work, has been a fun wormhole to fall into! Cheers.

On Be Here Now tour (97/98), they had two keyboard players: Mike Rowe (main keyboard) and Paul Stacey (complimentary arrangements). Both still working with Noel in different roles. Mike as the current keyboard player in High Flying Birds and Paul as a recording producer/engineer. Paul Stacey is a key figure on late Oasis era (Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, Heathen Chemistry, TBTT) and Noel solo stuff.

A little backdrop to this gig. They'd played almost a full gig at this point. Then left the stage & came back out to do Fade In/Out as their first encore. They done a number of other encores after this, of memory serves. Oasis had so much fkng stamina back in those days - unmatched anywhere in the world for 'balls out' rock n roll. Oh, and Johnny Depp played the slide guitar on this track on the Be Here Now album because Noel didn't know how to do slide at the time. He soon picked it up though, hence this! As for the drummer, Alan White, yes, he used a double-bass drum for this gig. He only used it for this tour. He didn't like to because he thought the rest of the band would mock him for being a "muso" (a serious musician). Basically because the rest if the band knew they were so good that they didn't take their success seriously. 😆 They were arrogant, but by God, they had every right to be.

Noel later said the Be Here Now album was too guitar heavy etc...but I don't see anything wrong with that. 1997 was basically the high point of noel's guitar playing, especially as far as solos are concerned. It's a shame that he later gave it up more and more

  • @juanvalcarcel1620

Their regular keyboard player, although not part of the band, was Mike Rowe, currently with Noel's band as well. The show decoration is based on their Be Here Now album they were touring at the time and it had a lot of elements of the album cover where they placed a Rolls Royce in a swimming pool. For instance, the drum kit front base is a prop of a Rolls Royce car. Johnny Depp plays slide guitar on the studio version of this song. I think Noel's guitar playing was at his best during this tour, with a lot of solo parts and extended versions, like the Champagne Supernova at the Budokan Arena. Then when Bonehead left and Gem Archer arrived, Noel delegated a lot of guitar lead parts to Gem.

Lemmy from Motörhead used to sing with the mic and his head tilted up like that. In an interview I watched ages ago, he said that he started doing that because, when they started out, playing in rough dives, things would get a little bit raucous haha and the 'clientele' would throw bottles etc at them so he found that by singing that way he could get through the gig. However, with Liam, I'm guessing he's doing his peacock posing toughman aesthetic 😄

I don't think he plays two bass drums. He's actually not a brilliant drummer. I've seen much better (I play drums). I like Moonie, Phil from AC/DC for his consistency and tight beat always behind the band holding it together. Also Ginger Baker. Not a huge fan of Bonzo. Yes he was great but just nott my style. I don't really have a style so I don't know what I am on about. Liam is always brilliant love and even now he is holding it together even though he's 50 or older. Noel has started doing synth based stuff which I find boring. But Liam is far more popular than Noel, selling out Kenworth which Oasis did in the 90s. There you go. Information galore. I love your show and you are funny and intelligent. Dig it maaaann! 😅🥳
