Dave is a genius, from his first blackbox freestyle at 16 years old to his new psychodrama album!
When I watch Dave I feel like a proud parent.
The part about “representing countries that never even existed while your grandmother was living” is about how most African countries gained independence in the 60s-90s because of colonialism
@dettwork

partly but also because European colonisers went & cut up Africa, created countries & borders - the countries didn't even exist before, they're false constructs ..
When we get black men like Dave who's not afraid to talk that real talk and can put a pen to pad in this type of way. Make people wake up and see all the hate and pain in the world through our eyes, he must be protected at all cost!!! Don't let them canceled him and turn his voice off. It's more than a shame that more people over here don't know about him, cause when it comes to these words he's better than 95% of your favorite rappers he talk different and with a purpose 💯 🗣🗣🗣 protect Dave
This performance will never not make me emotional. The music video for this song is absolutely beautiful. It was shot in Africa. Please check it out 🤩🤩
a lot of this song is UK specific but the majority is definitely relevant world wide! Dave is one of, if not the BEST out of the UK and he’s only 22. you should definitely react to more Dave!!
Dave is fire honestly! First time I watched it I couldn't stop. Just chills.
Dave is a genius! Akala is the OG though, listen to his fire in the booths (part 1 to 4, part 4 is the best)
I watched yall for your kpop reactions but I'm so happy you watched this. Dave is so talented and well spoken, its undeniably moving and educating.

@@chrisklitou7573 like Dave said in the song, just because we’re maybe less racist it doesn’t mean we’re not racist. If the uk was innocent, there shouldn’t have been any slavery to abolish in the first place.

Gotta say that I was lowkey proud af when I saw Dave's performance of black and how he called out people's bullshit at the ending! Great reaction guys & a big shout out from London ♥ 🤜💥🤛
So happy that you guys reacted to this video. My guy Dave is amazing!
Great reaction, human rights for all, its that simple peeps! "[Black] is representing countries that never even existed when your Grandmother was living" refers to the fact that 'we' (the UK and other colonial invaders) chopped up and named chunks of the world, especially Africa, and only relinquished them in recent history: Nigeria for example, where Dave's family is from, only got independence from the UK in the early 1960s ffs. His vid for this single is shot there and beautiful. You'd probably like a bitta Akala...

10:02 'Black is representing countries that never even existed when your grandmother was living' he's talking about most African countries for example Niger and mali etc which are only around 15 years old because of colonialism also hence why rhey didn't exist whilst his grandmother was living
