Well, thanks to MFJJ and the shop I did purchase the Darton. The comprehensive reviews especially from MFJJ are awesome as he speaks in a language that us dumb dumbs can understand as I am not an archer , I'm a hunter who wanted more opportunity and archery season helps that. I had a FrankenHoyt (Reflex and Hoyt parts)after my first bow purchase (reflex)was damaged , bought in about 2008, not saying it was a poor bow but this new technology is mind blowing. So about 27.5-28" draw length with a 415 grain arrow at 60lb draw gets me about 255 ft/sec , I have the 60-70lb version.I'm impressed with the ease of tuning and sighting in. The 60lbs pulls nicer than my previous set at 55lbs. Now, the compact size is the biggest asset for my needs as this will be a stand/blind/bush bow for chasing white tail so not carrying an ironing board up and down trees and trying to fit in a blind is actually quite important. I know going compact doesn't always get you premium performance but from my short time researching and little bit of use of this bow I have no worries about it performing for my needs.. Keep the info rolling, it does help us who are not bow savvy!

@@MondernMan If the reflex is anything like the Whitetail Maxx, it should be about 1.5", which is what I just measured. The Whitetail Maxx is rated at 339 fps, but I think it shoots faster than that, even though each draw length setting runs a 1/2" longer than spec.

Drew one at the store on the weekend, my current bow Reflex/Hoyt mix of parts after an accident and repair pulls hard apparently, is set at 55lbs, pulled the Darton , the salesman looks at me as I look at him and I have this look of amazement and say boy is that light and smooth, he says it ain't that light as I felt it was like 45lbs at the most , he says give me that and scales it, 58lbs , I was shocked but now i see why 70lb bows are easily pulled and smoothly to boot. I wasn't looking for a new bow but if a 60lb bow can feel like a 45lb bow I may have to buy. Also, this bow and others like it fill a massive need by hunters, as I don't want to be climbing a stand , tromping through willows , snow and ice , stopping to call, falling down , etc............ with a $2000 bow that you could easily damage. Some hunting styles really benefit from that short ATA also, especially in the sticks. If it puts the arrow in a vital zone within your ranges why do you need to spend thousands? Darton may get a new customer.

I’m not a fan of that brace height, 6.5” on that bow would have been perfect, but that’s a really solid offering from Darton. Well done on all their bows this year. At that price, will be hard to beat. 0 need for integrated gimmicks like pic mounts and rest mounts. Wish it had a back bar mount. 8 out 10 Darton!!!

The scoring system has to be modified to give extra points to a bow that is this good, at this price. If not, the scoring system is not giving enough credit to overall value. Likewise, the scoring system should really penalize the carbon bows at extreme prices since those bows don't offer anything from a shootability standpoint their aluminum brethren don't provide.

Quick question, this bow looks intriguing. Lots of good stuff to like. I currently shoot an Elite Terrain, the bows share some common specs.,on your video on the terrain you talked about the vibration. Would you think that it is more than the Consequence? If so is that because of the longer ATA of the Terrain, or cam system, Terrain being a hybrid as opposed to a dual cam on the Consequence. Thanks. Tim

Sure you miss out on “features”, but features cost money. The current system hurts budget bows with no way to rival a premium bow. True, a budget bow that was cheap but had a ton of features would rate very highly, but shouldn’t that be the manufacturers goal?

HEY MFJJ READ THIS!!!!! I believe I found a flaw in MFJJ’s speed tests against the IBO rating. He does not factor in String accessory weight (silencers/damper, dloop), let off settings etc. I’ve went and reviewed all his reviews and researched the string accessory weights (without knowing what let off settings he’s using) but I can tell you when you start adding things up you start creeping very close if not bang on the factory IBO specs. IBO specs are bare string only, are they not??? I’m saying this in hopes someone can bring attention to this matter so that he factors these variables into his reviews. If not he should disclose he’s not being totally honest or thorough with his speed comparisons and scores against the IBO rating. HEY MFJJ READ THIS!!!
