At $30 a roller glide might smooth out the draw cycle personally I think like mfjj says you will get use to it. With the other $90 maybe some stabs if you can fit them in the budget.

I think a pre built bow on the website would be a great idea maybe with brodhead tuning packages as a add on would be even better. I myself have been in the situation you touched on where I'm interested in a bow but there is no dealers near that carry the product. Great video as always. I'm looking forward to part 3!

I got my Alaskan XT last Tuesday. I put 150 shots through it to settle in the strings. I ended up cutting off the string grubs and installing 4 brass nock in each one's place with shrink tube. I also got it super quiet by tying on cat whiskers between the speed nock sets. Bow shoots real good!!

Hey Tim, I took the plunge Friday and picked up a hinge release. They didn't have the Hinge2. It has been an incredible help in slowing me down and having some of the cleanest breaks I've ever felt. Thanks brother, I truly appreciate the nudge and information on releases over the years. Love your content brother. Got this one saved for when I'm not chasing our son around.

Keep videos like this coming. Specs need to be apart of a review but people really want to know the little details that you’re thinking about while shooting out on target. That’s what will confirm or change someone’s opinion on a bow other than getting out to a shop to shoot it. Even then they don’t get to shoot it set up. So set these bows up and shoot them outside and ramble on about it! Definitely offer up budget bows on the website with an option to upgrade it. Also how much do you want for it barebow?!?

Great video series. Not everyone can afford the flagships. Both of these bows are fully capable of performing well in the field. I've shot both...loved the Consequence with its quality components and effortlessly smooth draw. Also liked the longer axle to axle of the Alaskan XT and its speed. If I had to pick one of the two I'd go Consequence. Darton has a winner at $649. If it gets into people's hands and they just try one I believe Darton will sell a ton of them. Nice shooting Tim!!! Keep em coming. Thank you to both you and MFJJ for the great content

Premade by a professional and someone that I respect in the industry and respected by others in the industry would be a great idea. I am starting out but I wanted the things I wanted like a phase 4 and other high end items. I love them all. I also believe with the quality that you guys offer it will take the intimidation out of buying the first rig. Especially not knowing anything and listening to everyone this is the best or thats the best. Anything will work and especially built in the right hands. Josh's comments about the 2 builds was genius and wouldn't mind seeing that in a video with explanation on why it would work best.

Great video! I agree in the price range just below these, you can't go wrong with the Bear Adapt Plus ready to hunt. I purchased one and it has produced. For the price range, the accessories are GREAT! Especially the sight. I really want to build out a Darton Consequence, but like a few of the other commentors, there is no dealers close to me. That would be a great service, to build out and ship. Thanks for the video.

I love the videos and I like the budget bow concept. I believe you are better off going with a lower price bow and higher end arrow rest and sight if you are on a budget. However, the 100 yard shooting didn't really tell me much about how shootable or accurate this bow is. I would prefer to see group sizes at 30 yards or which one you shoot a better indoor score with. Then give us some feedback on feel after a few hundred arrows through each bow.

@joshandtim I love the videos u guys do for people on a budget... I'm a little older so I can afford some of the newest and finest equipment but it wasn't always that way. So practical realistic videos for people on a budget is awesome. And at the end of the day there's NO substitute for just getting out there and shooting your bow... Right!!! So my delimma is arrow building. I know u guys have lots of videos on this and trust me I watched them all. Soit shouldn't matter if I'm buying the Easton X-10's or the Walmart Beaman's the best solid practices of arrow building and tuning is going to help everyone. I also believe building your own arrows really invest u in your archery experience... Skin in the game! So with that said, I believe arrow building starts with the spine alignment, consistent flight every time, right. I will never drop $350 - $500 on a spine tool. No argument they'll give u the best results every time, but I'm not doing it. I would luv to hear some poor man ways to find that spine or stiffy part of the arrow... We've all heard of the float method and the bow vise bending the arrow method, but are there any better ways without a expensive spine tool? Let's hear your thoughts and advice? How about a video of cheap, mid, and expensive arrow build... all built exactly the same, length, weight, spine, inserts, vanes etc etc. Then compare the accuracy, apples to apples. Sorry for the long comment as u can tell I'm passionate about archery. Luv your content, keep the videos coming guys!!! 👍🏻

You have lot of good information in here. plus the deil you put into setting up the bow is beyond any one around here. All got me thinking and looking at my bow. I like the straight riser and longer brace... All is better than the one I have the old BowTech Carbon Knight. The check in the mail for you.

I think it would be smart for Podium Archer to sell prebuilt budget bows. Love the accessories you put on, but you could even save some more money doing like a CBE tactic micro for those eastern hunters that don't plan to shoot past 60 yards. Also, what about female/short draw budget bows? My wife has a 24 inch draw length and needs a new bow. ;)

  • @MegaRobbo92

So, question. I own a Bear Paradox, and I have noticed that the serving separates extremely quickly on the cables where they are attached to the cam. Almost like the track has too much of a sever bend. And yes the strings and cables have been changed. But serving separation sets back in after 50-100 shots. Not as bad as it was with the stock strings but still. Is this normal for all bows or is it a Bear thing? Might be something to think about for a price point bow, as speaking towards design of the cams and string / cable attachment.

The dampening material on the Bear is very hard. For $60 you can swap out the Bear string stop with a Hitek sand trap and the stock limb dampeners for Limbsaver twistlox for a significant reduction of noise and vibration. Use Tim’s discount code and you’ll basically get an upgraded bow at original price.

Are you sure those will work on the bear bows. Ive got a bear resurgence LD and that’s bout the only thing on the bow I hate is the stock string stop

I can’t speak on your specific model but I have one on my Alaskan XT. They are built bow specific for a guaranteed fit not a universal one size fits most. I would reach out to them but I can’t imagine why they couldn’t build you one.

The value between 4 & 5 is the same as between 1 & 0 . Maybe try 3.5 or 4.7 for a bit more discrepancy between values.
