Funnier part about this fight: Canonically Death wasn't at his full power as he wasn't fighting with the Council's authority.

I loved the charecterisation of Samael. He's truly fearless and always has his own schemes in play. He never takes any side, never scared of rattling the established order, the perfect embodiment of chaos.

Nooo, what caused Samael to abandon his throne is when he went against the Destroyer's will and was captured. Corruption is formidable, but keep in mind that Samael was almost powerful enough to take on Lucifer,

Samael it sent to actually be almost Lucifers equal. Since he is his younger brother, he learned everything from Lucifer. But the thing is, Samaels raw power is overwhelming. As an angel, he had a reputation of dethroning tyrants, kings, rulers and lords ( with the arrogant fools entire force of army and navy backing them) ALL BY HIMSELF. That’s millions of soldiers slaughtered by one pissed off seraph archAngel on a mission to put the puny demons and humans in their place. With all that power, lucifer pissing himself to the point of being terrified of him, with Sam being a threat to his throne.

The game has its flaws for sure, but it's just so atmospheric in combination with the great soundtrack so that I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Samael was the hardest boss in this game.

I playd darksiders 2 before the first. I killd the Stygian and traveld back to Samael. He told War that "Sometimes the hero dies at the end" and I was like: Wait a minute!

Lol I'm finally playing this game now in 2023 I found this video because I just made it to Samael in the game

I feel Samael always intended to give the key, but wanted to test Death.

that and death was also holding back like alot.

I replayed that fight about 5 times

You know what's odd about that? Here's the hardest for me in order from weakest to strongest Samael (who I joked around with to make the fight longer), then Absalom (who kept confusing me with his erratic powers), and finally the Archon. I tried to finish that fight quickly, but DAMMIT he was kicking my ass every which way! D:

Oh i remember a bug , a bug where samael won't let you go near him no path showed up haha

Samael is tougher than the final boss

this is the normal speed of the game.

Even looks like profound darkness, even also looks too much like the archfiend vazdah, and zedonius, and marbus combined!

in my game this boss is bugged... he simply wont drag the floor too him so he keep falling into the lava... and when I finally kill him he just dissapear... what can i do to prevent this?

And at phase 2, he possesses both Lightning and Flame just like Natsu from Fairy Tail.

That...actually makes a lot of sense. Lucifer tries to take over in power, the Council has no choice but to allow the Horsemen to do things their way, and Samael makes them a deal.

Now all the seals are broken and all horsemen have their rightful power we will see in the nextgame. Remember the 4horsemen represent the end of all life, no power can stand against them, I doubt the charredcouncil can now that they know of their betrayal.

And I wish we could’ve seen them fight with both at full power, Samael would obviously still win but still be fun to see.

Anna Montenegro Nah if death was full power he would win simply because even though samael was messing around with death here and also remember death does not even have his full power granted he did get samael to give the key at the very least. Not only that but deaths motive was to get the key not to kill him if his motive was to kill samael and they had their full power death would of won. Hopefully I am not wrong because it just makes sense to me.

I believe it would take all of the horseman to be able to kill Samael

is the game is this fast? or is it because something video makes it feel like !? because i'm scared of this speed :D

Someone who understands. Yes, she simply mixed the dust of angel and demon to form Absalom, and then the other Nephilim.

Necromancer be like "Always dodge whatever the pattern and release your damn crows!" Rarely fights himself, and if it's the case, eat some demon blows. That's kind of weird, for an (rpg) hack'n'slash game, not to kick some asses yourself. Each gamer his style, and i have no issues with the path you chose, but sadly, i can't use your video for my Harbinger character. I have to melee him and therefore find breaches in his patterns. BTW, this Necro built reminds me my 1st playthrough on Borderlands 2, with a Commando character (the one that can use a combat turret). The turret were very efficient, but at some point, i wonder with i threw it only to hide myself and wait there were no enemies left. From that day i avoid carefully the builds that allow you to deal with enemy hidden, with some kind of auto aim action skill. (sorry for the HS, and thanks for the video, i'm sure it's very helpfull for Necro builds!).

I take it u are refering to Samael becoming godlike in the first game.But if i am not mistaken the second game took place before the first one.So Samael isnt that strong now that Death is facing him.I might be mistaken though.

NerdyKid Games we went back in time to fight him. So yes it probably was before he was empowered

sure i will see him again in ds 3 ..no spoils

duh fark it gltiches when i try to do this he keeps fallign threw the lava and when i beat him nothing happen :/

I have a theory, I wonder if later on Samael will help the horsemen take down Lucifer in exchange for becoming the new ruler of hell. Anybody else agree?

Yeahhhhhhhh, he seems like a preety chill and trustworthy guy, so they won't just team up and end his weak ass.

it's because ur watching it. Also death is lightning fast compared to war.

yeah i know it sounds crazy and/or stupid but many in the near future when they make like the final darksiders game u could play not only the four horsemen themselves but play as Samael aswell just a thought though

Eh, it's POSSIBLE that all four of them could beat him under the right conditions, though I'd have to agree that the likelihood that they'd be able to isn't exactly likely. Especially considering that they show off Samael as practically a demon god.

Death wasnt using his full power either. Hopefully in DS3 hell have it. They seemed equal in strength and speed, death overpowered him and matched his speed. Also death cant die, hes invulnerable, says so in the DS1 comic which came with the game.

Those hearts of chosen one made him very next to the god and by theory without broken seal hourse men are not as deadly so i think samuel was in that condtion

Oh yes, gameplaywise he was an easy boss(archon I think is the hardest by comparison), but it's like, you put all your effort into taking him down, and by the end of the fight he's like, "Lol, good show"

So War is calm and composed and can stand up to Samael, but Death gets dragged around and taken by surprise when he's supposedly the strongest Horseman? Sure, makes sense.

War stood to Samael before he got his powers back, before he killed the chosen, so Samael was weak. Death is fighting Samael before his power was split into the chosen, so he was at full power. After he eats the last heart, Samael says he could kill War without trouble.

Well it was pretty fast. And he was not such a treat. I expected something bigger for the final battle and with sure more quests at Shadow lands. First part of the game is all in Makers lands, now only one fight at the end. I am not dissapointed, I love this game, but I was ready to kill the whole hell with Lilith on top. It finished too fast for me.

MrFasho123 Well probably, I started with Darksiders 2, read the book and now play Darksiders. But Kindom of dead for example was a whole univercy, castles, coridors, hundred floors.. end came too soon.

of course, once you have scythes with life steal, then samael is also just...pitiful.

omg i cant beat it he all the time falling in lava and at the end we fight in air and than we both fall in lava... -.- hot to pass that?

who here thinks the fight with Samael was tougher than the fight with Absilom?

when lookin for advice n 1st u find is a bugged out boss ...

why the hell don't my crows do any damage?

mesh uggah you have to upgrade them quite a bit to do any damage. Even then I wouldn't recommend using them. Best bet is teleport slash along with spamming the twin cannons combo

Wow bigman on the internet, shivers. I know what im talking bout samael cant kill 1 of the horsemen at full power, we havent seen that fight. 4 of them at once would be overkill. The could probably kill the darkprince if they wanted to and hes stronger than samael

He cudnt kill shit stop lying. Wasnt implying anything samuel was just stroking hes ego and threatening a heavily depowered war. Death battled a fully powered samuel to a stand still even though he didnt have all his power. Id argue a fully powered death with the seals broken can do it by himself.

U make me laugh u are playing on normal or easy mode that's why its so ez, i played on deathnitive and its hard af
