"Think of what we could achieve!" "I would rather not." I believe that sentence is what best demonstrates Dante's character arc and path to redemption. Rather than deny he would consider this option, he makes the choice NOT TO instead, because he was an awful sinner who would easily be tempted by the allure of power. He knows he would probably fall for the offer, but because he's become aware of his flaws, in the process overcoming the sin of pride which Lucifer is best known for ironically, he has the force of will and presence of mind to turn away from the temptation.

I love that the game highlighted Lucifers rage over man being made in the image of God. For someone ruled by pride like Lucifer is, such a thing would’ve been maddening beyond comprehension. It’s an intimacy with God that no angel possesses. In this, man is superior to angel kind, and this is utterly abhorrent in Lucifers eyes.

Not to mention when he was voicing his displeasure that angels were to bow to humanity, you almost expect he is going to talk Dante into seeing why it seemed completely unreasonable and unjust for how he was punished for not liking it instead he just shifts to happy like "so thanks for breaking me free, you idiot"

Agreed, Lucifer's voice acting is absolutely brilliant and has alot of range. I love how we see his Different emotions and phases. It makes him feel more genuine. Every voice actor did an amazing job with the characters in the game and made the story and game very worthwhile. The whole cast of voice actors did an amazing and brilliant job.

I played this on the PSP ages ago because we couldn’t afford a console at the time. I think I labeled this game in my head as “God of War but Biblical”. My parents are ridiculously religious so I would play this alone at night to hide it, scaring myself in the process 😂 I love this game. The visuals were amazing.

This isn't the only game where you fight the true King of Evil. In a Castlevania game you fight him as DRACULA OF ALL BEINGS! I doubt that it will be the last you hear of old Nick in any game in years to come.

I always liked the voice actors. Both Dante and Lucifer. They just sound perfect.

They tried to make a sequel but it got cancelled. However, I think that it wouldn't have made the grade, but I do think a spin-off game would have been possible if they thought of one. This is what I mean, you play the part of someone who found himself/herself in a similar predicament, this pc would team up with other souls from different eras in a quest for vengeance against Old Scratch here.

Man, the ending gets me emotional all the time.

I’m an older gamer and I absolutely loved this game. Macabre and grotesque. I loved it.

Maxed level holy exp, proceeds to fight the main boss using scythe mostly with just level 1 unholy exp.

This game has incredible graphics and effects.. one of my favorite games I've ever played.

Jesus. No wonder she left Dante. Lucifer is packing.

I'd prefer a spin-off. A sequel was being planned but got cancelled.

This voice actor for Lucifer voices Ares in God of War, kratos sells his soul to Ares, makes sense, crazy

This is my favorite depiction of the Devil in mythology literature! Dante's Devine comedy is so inspirational! 😈

Divine comedy is a better story than the Bible.... All those chapters of Noah begatting Bob and Bob begatting Seth or whoever tf out was 😂 0 out of 5 stars

I remember beating this game. Man this game is classic.

I've never played this game but always admired how shamelessly hacky it is. Like, Lucifer is so powerful he was able to put up enough of a fight against God his rebellion could be called a "war", but that doesn't stop him from being a totally generic "disembodied torso that slowly punches you in front of a circular arena" final boss.

The giant behemoth is meant to be a casing bound to a single place for eternity, that's why his small form is much more complicated to fight

Actually, even that was based on the original poem: he really was frozen up to his waist in ice in Dante's Divine Comedy.

@@longWriter I know, but my boy Satan does not do circular arena boss fights any more than he does QuickTime Events. Satan would be frozen up to his torso in paid DLC for each stage of the fight that requires a 500 MB day one patch to "prevent" the PLA from stealing your credit card info

@@wing_ston_902 Lucifer Morningstar is the Original Angel evidently he's a Seraphim plus Lucifer Morningstar is a much better name for himself even most scholar's agreed with it plus Samael only mean's Poison of God/Blindness of God

Reason why the crosses her demons is because the cross resembles and undying love

I beat this on inferno collected all relics extremely invigorating the only tough part is lucifer

One of the best games I didn't beat in my life I done beat this game a good four or five times such a good ending so it's just crazy to see Lucifer and ice instead of fire
