So yeah I noticed you used frames from the original animation and had them done as sprites, which is pretty great. At least that seems to be it. I mean, definitely the easier way to do it.

Literally went back in time to Doomguy's weaker form before he literally became an angel demon killing machine thing and he still had to take a knee... FROM A NORMAL HUMAN.

I don't think somebody who can carry a BFG, a minigun, and a rocket launcher on their back is a normal human.

To be fair, the Icon of Sin in BD is straight-up bullshit. Still trying to wrap my head around a "stand in this specific place or die" boss, but at the same time, at least there's enemies trying to force you out of the safe spots. I'unno, I just busted out the dual plasma rifles and threw myself into the meat grinder a few dozen times until it somehow died instead of me.

Which would kinda full circle if you think about it... let's face it, id took inspiration from Brutal Doom, the glory kills alone point to this. Not that I'm implying there's anything wrong with that.

Imagine if in TAG2, the Dark Lord would have transported us back to DOOM 2 in the final battle, and the Doomslayer would have the classic weapons and movement.

Very much on the same boat. Happy to see doom still having some spotlight and new fans so many years later, but the classics always suited me better. I enjoyed 2016 and eternal, but i always go back to the classics. Got to give a shoutout for the map Foundry on Doom 2016, that level felt more like the classic doom in terms of design and fun to play. Hard to make something similar to the classics in this time without getting some backlash, if we got new megawads from ID with perhaps a few new things that would be great. A new Doom 64 megawad would be nice too.

@@mrosskne They really aren't. The sheer number of mods and map-packs make Doom 2 unfathomably better than Doom 2016 or Doom Eternal. I liked Doom Eternal well enough, but there's just no replayability unless you care about achievements which I very much don't. You could play Doom 2 forever just by playing a constant stream of map packs and even mods that change the game.

Yes. Like in Doom Eternal If you shoot him at right time (0:55) he becomes vulnerable for a short time.

If the Dark Lord can't defeat the Slayer, then why not travel back to 1994 to kill him in his DoomGuy form

Easier than fighting the Cyberdemon and his almost instant kill rockets.

Should've traveled to the doom 3 time line before the soul cube is acquired. The weakest version of doom guy. Would've been an absolute slam dunk in 1 hit.

I ended up using an old version (4.0) of GZDoom for this video..., if the texture filter were turned off the transparency of the Dark Lord's shield and sword would be glitched
